Nick Jonas Reckons He Might Start Charging Athletes For The ‘Jonas Blessing’

Last year, Nick Jonas pointed out that while Drake has the “Drake curse,” which apparently causes teams and athletes that associate with him to do poorly, Jonas has an opposite sort of thing going on. He noticed what he dubbed the “Jonas blessing,” a trend of athletes — Patrick Mahomes, Cody Bellinger, and Lewis Hamilton — going on to have great success after having some sort of involvement with him and the Jonas Brothers.

He spoke about that on The Tonight Show yesterday, joking with Jimmy Fallon that he’s thinking about charging athletes to get blessed:

“It’s quite simple, you know? In reality, what happened is when the brothers back together — we went on tour, the Happiness Begins tour, back in 2019 — we had a number of athletes, high-performing athletes, come out to some shows. So the first was Cody Bellinger, who then went on to win the World Series with the Dodgers, right? We had Patrick Mahomes, who in the 2020 Super Bowl won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. He came to a show in KC. And then Lewis Hamilton, who surpassed the all-time record, he went on to, after he came to a show, to do that. So basically, we established, and I think it was really me more than the brothers that… I saw the trend, I was saying, ‘We’re going to have to start charging these athletes.’ If they want the ‘Jonas blessing,’ to come to a show and then go on to win a championship, they’re going to have to pay up, you know?”

He then added, “Little-known fact, too, Jimmy, is that Tom Brady, we actually did a private COVID-safe show for Tom Brady before the Super Bowl and that’s why [he won].”

Instagram Removed Likes By Accident

An Instagram bug briefly hid likes from some of its users on Tuesday, after the company accidentally expanded a long-running test of the feature. The company has been testing removing likes for years, and accidentally released the test to the public, which caused quite the uproar, as we initially reported.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced in 2019 at Wired25 that the platform would begin hiding “like” counts on posts within a week. “We will make decisions that hurt the business if they help people’s well-being and health,” Mosseri said at the time.

Since then, IG has been testing the removal of Likes across different users in different areas. However, apparently yesterday, it went wide to many more people than intended.

An official IG Comms account released a statement saying, “We’ve been testing a new experience to hide likes on Feed posts. We unintentionally added more people to the test today, which was a bug — we’re fixing this issue and restoring like counts to those people as soon as possible.”

This was followed up by the one and only Instagram account, apologetically saying, “So Instagram …did not mean to hide likes for everyone.”

Nonetheless, once Instagram users realized that their Likes were hidden, even temporarily, the memes came in.

King Von’s Manager Says Rapper “Genuinely Loved” Asian Doll

Asian Doll has been publically grieving the passing of her ex-boyfriend, Chicago rapper King Von, who was killed last year. People have been extremely critical of Asian’s posts about Von, picking her apart in her comments and disrespectfully accusing her of using Von’s death for clout. She has been vocal against her haters, but Von’s former manager Track is coming to her defense as well, speaking about the genuine connection that the two rappers shared in the latest clips from his interview with VladTV.

We’ve been keeping you posted on the latest statements from Track, including the video where he says he doesn’t wish jail on Lul Tim, the man accused of killing Von. He went on to speak more about the rapper’s relationship with Asian Doll, touching on her confusing claims that Von texted her that his friends set him up before she later revealed that Von’s spirit told her that through an advisor. Track agrees with Vlad that her claims were “silly” but he doesn’t want people to continue disrespecting the Dallas representative, saying that Von really loved her.

“No lie, you know how the media is like, ‘yo, she’s overplaying the situation, she’s doing it for clout’? Man, you’re crazy. That girl loved Von,” said Track about Asian Doll. “For real, for real. They was really in love. I can vouch for that. That was really a real situation. She’s probably f*cked up from that situation. This girl just lost somebody that she considered her soulmate. I feel for her and I wish her nothing but love and I wish she can heal from it. I don’t like when people downplay that like she’s doing it for attention.”

Track says that he thinks Asian and Von were broken up for a few months at the time of his death, whereas Asian Doll has said that it had only been about a week since they broke up

Tamar Braxton’s Ex-Fiance’s Restraining Order Against Her Dismissed

Tamar Braxton has had a tumultuous last year, and a lot of the drama seems to be surrounding her ex-finance David Adefeso. When Braxton attempted to commit suicide in September 2020, originally Adefeso was among those blamed. Nonetheless their relationship is clearly confusing, because that same month, the tables seemingly turned when Adefeso filed a domestic violence restraining order against the singer.

In court documents, Adefeso stated that Tamar attacked him and started to punch him while he was driving his Rolls-Royce and threatened to have him killed. Then, allegedly, Tamar violently socked him in the jugular, disorienting him and nearly causing him to crash. When he parked the car Tamar started trashing it, apparently smashing the camera and rear view mirror. He says he suffered bruising to his neck and shoulder area along with the damage to his Rolls.

Tamar Braxton denied all of these allegations publicly during a visit to the The Tamron Hall Show.

Now, the two were due back in court, but since neither of them decided to show in court the restraining order was dissolved and the case was dismissed.

The reason for their absence in court still remains a mystery, but apparently they are at least on good enough terms that they do not wish to maintain the restraining order. We’ll keep you updated when we hear from either party on the situation.

Ludacris May Not Be Able To Cook But He Can Fly A Plane Now

Ludacris firmly established the limits of his talents with his Discovery+ television special Ludacris Can’t Cook, but as he captioned his latest Instagram post, “If you don’t evolve, you’ll evaporate.” By the way, he used that post to showcase an example of exactly what he means; apparently, he’s expanded his list of useful skills to not only include cooking but also piloting his own private jet. Maybe he wants to do his own stunt flying in the next Fast And Furious movie or maybe he just wants to save on hiring chefs and pilots, but it’s a cool thing to see him sitting at the yoke.

Of course, for fans on social media, it was just another prime opportunity to fire up the joke machines. Many of the jokes focused on Luda’s flight demeanor. As Chance The Rapper put it, “He look like a lane finna merge and he tryna get over.”

Other fans humorously pointed out the gumption of learning to fly a plane while many of us are still adjusting to the last year of social distancing.

Meanwhile, others imagined their responses to hearing the phrase “This is your captain, Ludacris, speaking” over the plane P.A.

Check out more amusing responses below.
