YSL Case: Lil Rod’s Father Says D.A. Promised Freedom For Snitching On Young Thug

It could take months before the finalized jury is chosen for the YSL case, meaning Young Thug and his associates have a long journey ahead. Of the over two dozen alleged associates listed in the RICO indictment against YSL, only eight co-defendants remain. Young Thug is counted among those still fighting for their freedom. He and his team also insist that YSL is a record label, not a criminal street organization, as prosecutors alleged.

They face allegations of being involved in a slew of crimes that include drug trafficking, intimidation, witness tampering, assault, conspiracy, and even attempted murder. District Attorney Fani Willis has been at the center of this highly publicized case, and according to defendant Lil Rod’s father, she offered him freedom. That is if he snitched on Young Thug.

“Ms. Willis went down to that jail and told my son if he—if!” the angry father shared in a clip. “Listen to what I say. I ain’t tellin’ you what I heard, I’m tellin’ you what I know. ‘If he say Thug gave him $10,000 to [inaudible] that boy, then we’ll let you out of jail.’” Lil Rod, real name Rodalius Ryan, has faced several issues since incarceration.

Ryan was recently involved in a run-in with a deputy. It was alleged that Lil Rod spat on the officer, resulting in being manhandled. Earlier this month, news reports stated that Ryan was also named with two others in an alleged jailhouse stabbing. Additionally, new charges are expected to be added due to that incident.

Rod’s attorney previously demanded an investigation into the altercation with the deputy. It was further alleged that the officer hit Rod in the head, leaving cuts and bruises. It was alleged that excessive force was used during the incident. Prosecutors were accused of expediting the investigation to cover up any mishandling.

Thug also continues to await his day in court as he denies culpability in illegal activity. It was rumored that Willis believed Thugger was the leader of a gang, so he hasn’t been offered a plea deal as several others have, including Gunna.
