Travis Scott Settles Nightclub Assault Case With Victim: Report

As fans anticipate the release of Utopia, Travis Scott found himself in some hot water right before his performance at Rolling Loud LA. The Houston rapper faced accusations of assault and vandalism after he reportedly went haywire at a New York nightclub. Trav was in town to celebrate Don Toliver’s album release but he lost his cool with the sound engineer at Nebulla nightclub and struck him in the face. Afterward, Travis reportedly went on a rampage, destroying $12K worth of equipment in the process.

Though police were called to the scene, reports claim that Travis Scott immediately hopped on a jet and skipped town. However, days after he performed at Rolling Loud in California, he was expected to turn himself into the NYPD. His reps reportedly arranged a meeting with detectives following the incident but it looks like he might be cleared in the long haul. According to TMZ, Scott’s settled the dispute with the engineer and the nightclub recently.

Sources close to the rapper said that he pony’d up some dough to clear out his issues with Nebulla and the sound engineer. Though it’s unclear how much he coughed up, he made things right with both parties. However, he’s not completely off the hook yet. According to police sources, there’s still an “active investigation” into the matter, though it might be hard to file charges. Another law enforcement source said that the actual victim has stopped cooperating in the case altogether.

Without testimony from the alleged victim, it’ll be hard for police to nab Travis Scott but it won’t be impossible. Even though the likelihood of filing charges remains slim, there is a video of Scott’s altercation with the sound engineer that they could use. Additionally, the alleged victim also gave an interview with Fox 5 News where he details his injuries. “My neck is f**ked up. My arm is tingling. I have pins and needles going down it,” he said. Still, it’s unlikely that Scott will face a judge over the matter. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates surrounding the case.
