What Songs Are Missing From Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Vinyl?

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter has been out for a few days now, but some fans are unhappy as the vinyl editions of they album they ordered are starting to arrive: There are reports that not all of the album’s songs are included in the physical edition.

What Songs Are Missing From Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Vinyl?

As fans have noted (like ones in this Reddit thread), “Spaghettii,” “Flamenco,” “The Linda Martell Show,” “Ya Ya,” and “Oh Louisiana” are reportedly not included on the currently available vinyl pressings of the album. The same is also reportedly true for the CD version except for “Flamenco,” which is on the CD.

Cowboy Carter is 79:03 in total length. A standard 33 RPM vinyl record can contain up to 25 minutes of audio per side, so 50 minutes per record. However, Cowboy Carter is a 2LP release, so across the LPs, there would be more than enough room for the complete album’s running time in the 100 minutes of total space. Meanwhile, CDs can hold up to 80 minutes of audio, so the album’s length shouldn’t be an issue in that format either.

As some have pointed out (and as unboxing videos like the one below show), the tracklist of the songs actually included on the vinyl and CD editions isn’t printed anywhere on them. What does appear on these physical releases is a QR code, which, when scanned, brings you to music.beyonce.com. This page displays the full Cowboy Carter tracklist, not the truncated tracklists from the physical releases. The tracklist also isn’t visible anywhere on Beyoncé’s online shop. So, essentially, fans had no way of knowing which songs would be excluded from these releases before buying them, or that any would be cut at all.

As for why this happened, some theorize that last-minute changes were made to the album and re-pressing the vinyl would have been impractical or too costly. Some upset fans said they plan to file a chargeback or dispute for the transaction.

Cowboy Carter is out now via Parkwood/Columbia Records. Find more information here.

The BeyHive Is Stirring Over Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Vinyl Reportedly Missing Five Songs

Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter last Friday, March 29, and the BeyHive couldn’t have asked for more. The 27-track album — billed as “act ii” of Renassaince hits every note, including covers of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” (stylized as “Blackbiird“) and Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and features from Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts, and more.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter rollout has been flawlessly methodical. Even still, people found something to be upset about. According to Rolling Stone, people were less than enthused about the Cowboy Carter vinyl because it reportedly excludes “Ya Ya,” “Spaghettii,” “The Linda Martell Show,” “Oh Louisiana,” and “Flamenco.”

“The preordered CD is also missing those first four songs but includes ‘Flamenco,’ which has spawned another complaint: The ‘limited edition’ compact disc version promised the inclusion of an ‘additional song,’ with many fans assuming it was an unreleased, exclusive bonus track,” Rolling Stone relayed. “Instead, the ‘additional song’ appears to just be ‘Flamenco,’ a track already on the digital version of the album.”

Nobody definitively knows why those five songs (allegedly, seemingly, reportedly) were left off from physical versions of the album, but the BBC suggested that perhaps Beyoncé “added these songs late into the album’s creation.” Also worth noting is that the album is 79:03 long, and the Cowboy Carter vinyl edition is a 2LP release. Each side of a standard record can hold up to 25 minutes of audio, so the full album would fit into the 100 minutes of space across the 2LPs. Additionally, the tracklist of the songs included on the vinyl release isn’t listed on Beyoncé’s online shop or even on the physical release itself.

It’s only a guess, but the outlet posited, “Vinyl pressing plants are booked months in advance, with lead times of 10 weeks to six months — meaning albums have to be submitted long in advance of their release.” However, Variety smartly pointed out that the explanation wouldn’t necessarily make sense if “II Most Wanted” was under construction as recently as February, as contributing musicians suggested.

It should also be noted that Beyoncé’s store offers Cowboy Carter in four different vinyl variations — black, blue, red, and white — so specific complaints might only apply to certain vinyl variants.

The Neptunes Are In Dispute As Pharell Williams And Chad Hugo Head To Court Over The Rights To Their Group Name

The Neptunes hold the credits to some of the biggest hits of the 2000s. The production duo, which consisted of Virginia Beach natives Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, contributed beats to everyone from Britney Spears to Snoop Dogg, with significant impact on the careers of Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Kelis, Nelly, Robin Thicke, T.I., and more.

Unfortunately, it looks like the future of the odd couple’s production brand is in dispute as Hugo’s attorneys have filed legal documents claiming Williams attempted to register trademarks for the Neptunes name in violation of a previous agreement to split everything 50/50.

Hugo’s attorney Kenneth D. Freundlich wrote in the filing, “By ignoring and excluding [Hugo] from the any and all applications filed by applicant for the mark ‘The Neptunes,’ applicant has committed fraud in securing the trademarks and acted in bad faith.”

However, according to a statement to Billboard from Pharrell’s reps, Williams did try to get Chad onboard with no success. ““Pharrell is surprised by this,” it reads. “We have reached out on multiple occasions to share in the ownership and administration of the trademark and will continue to make that offer. The goal here was to make sure a third party doesn’t get a hold of the trademark and to guarantee Chad and Pharrell share in ownership and administration.”

Billboard explains in its report that Williams submitted three applications in 2022 to register The Neptunes: one for streaming, one for music videos and similar media, and one for live performances. Hugo’s attorneys argue that his name was not listed as a co-owner of the The Neptunes entity and that they reached out to Williams to get the issue corrected multiples times since. While Williams’ reps have apparently offered to include Hugo, it would be under what Chad’s lawyers call “onerous business terms.”

Drake Seemingly Reacts To LeBron James Rapping Along To Kendrick Lamar Diss

Overall, Drake is one of the biggest artists in the entire world. Consequently, there are plenty of other artists over the years who have come for the throne. The latest to do so is none other than Kendrick Lamar. This is probably Drizzy’s most formidable opponent. Lamar is one of the greatest hip-hop artists ever and has numerous classic albums to his name. Furthermore, he can crank out hits, which just goes to show how strong his pen is. In a diss track battle between the two, it would be extremely difficult for the megastar to come out on top.

In fact, it seems like even Drake’s best friends are rocking with Kendrick’s verse on “Like That.” As we reported earlier today, LeBron James was seen warming up while rapping to the verse. This seems like the ultimate betrayal, especially when you consider how James has always supported the Canadian artist. The verse seemed to work wonders for LeBron, as he ended up dropping a nice 40-piece on the Brooklyn Nets. As for Drake, he has seen the video. We know this because he liked a video of LeBron rapping “Like That,” on Instagram.

Drake Sees Everything

It is a subtle response, however, one has to wonder what is going through Drake’s mind right now. The whole world wants him to respond. However, he has refused to do so. Only time will tell whether or not he finally changes his mind. Hopefully, he will as the world wants a competitive battle. It would be much better to have that than the entire thing after “Like That.” Either way, Kendrick came with the heat, and the world is recognizing it.

Let us know what you think about Drake and his recent feud with Kendrick Lamar, in the comments section down below. Who do you think is going to come out on top? Will Drizzy be delivering a response anytime soon? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. IDK Catches Heat For Suggesting Drake, Kendrick Lamar, & J. Cole Should Just Retire

The Big Three discussion has dominated the hip-hop space over the past few weeks. It’s become such a notable talking point, in fact, that rappers who don’t even have a connection to Drake, J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar have taken to social media to give their opinions on the trio’s legacy. IDK is the latest rapper to get it on the discussion. Rather than debate which of the Big Three is the best, however, he took a broader stance that had some Twitter users up in arms.

IDK’s tweet was simple yet controversial. “The big 3 need to retire and make way,” he wrote on March 30. Wanting to see rappers rise up and take the mantle is not an especially hot take, especially since the the trio of Drake, Cole and Kendrick have been making hits for close to 15 years. It was the suggestion that they should give up the mantle, however, that rubbed fans the wrong way. IDK’s tweet was flooded with responses telling him to “snatch” the crown and put in work to “dethrone” the Big Three himself.

IDK Tweet Sparks Backlash

IDK addressed these responses the next day when he tweeted: “Dry humor doesn’t work on this platform.” The rapper’s attempts to make light of the semi-viral tweet didn’t stop fans from calling him out, though, so he decided to use Kendrick Lamar lyrics to bolster his original point. He retweeted a screenshot of 2010’s “Monster Freestyle”, in which K-Dot raps that JAY-Z should have retired. IDK posted the screenshot along with the message: “This is also Kendrick.”

The parallel was obvious: young rappers want to elbow out the elders. IDK went on to tweet that fans take things too seriously when it comes to online discourse. A quick scroll through IDK’s timeline proves that he’s an enormous fan of the Big Three, so this clearly wasn’t an instance of him trying to start beef. As far as he’s concerned, he’s keeping the competitive, youthful spirit of hip-hop alive, like Kendrick did before and like the rappers after him will do.

April Fools’ Day:  A Look at a Seriously Silly Tradition

April Fools’ Day

You might think April Fool’s Day is all about pulling fast ones and cracking jokes, but the roots of this day run deep, blending history and culture.

One theory takes us back to the 16th century in France, where King Charles IX laid down the law by switching up the calendar, moving New Year’s Day from April 1st to January 1st. But not everyone got the memo. So, those still partying like it’s New Year’s on April 1st got dubbed the “April Fools.” Talk about a royal prank!

Now, let’s rewind even further to ancient Rome, where they were all about living it up during the festival of “Hilaria” around the vernal equinox. It was a wild time filled with jesters, masquerades, and general shenanigans. Sound familiar? That’s right – April Fools’ Day might just have roots in these ancient turn-ups.

But hold up, we’re not done yet. Over in India, they got down with Holi, a spring festival that’s all about letting loose and pulling tricks on your squad. It’s like the original April Fools’ vibe but with a spicy twist.

The vibe of renewal and rebirth that comes with spring is what ties all these theories together. April Fools’ Day isn’t just about punking friends and family – it’s a celebration of fresh starts and breaking out of the everyday grind.

And you know hip hop had to put its spin on things. From playful pranks to epic hoaxes, artists and crews have been dropping April Fools’ gems that keep fans on their toes. Remember when Kendrick Lamar announced he was dropping an album of bird calls? Classic.

But it’s not all fun and games. Some folks argue that April Fools’ Day can go too far, causing confusion or hurt feelings. That’s why it’s essential to keep it real and remember that laughter should never come at someone else’s expense.

So, whether you’re scheming up the ultimate prank or dodging the tricks like a pro, remember that April Fools’ Day is about celebrating life’s playful side. Keep it fresh, keep it fun, and above all, keep it hip-hop.
