21 Savage Celebrates Kodak Black, Bobby Shmurda, & Rowdy Rebel’s Freedom

While 2021 has already presented plenty of new challenges, hardly the blank-slate reset from 2020 that so many had vainly hoped for, it has not been without the occasional glimmer of silver lining. Especially in the hip-hop world, where several beloved rappers were either released or prematurely pardoned from extended prison stints.

Today marked the return of Bobby Shmurda, who served a six-year bid and hit the ground running earlier this morning. And while New York rapper Rowdy Rebel was technically released in December of 2020, he has wasted little time re-establishing his presence in the early months of the new year. Lastly, Kodak Black caught a Presidential pardon from Donald Trump, a move that did not go unappreciated by the Floridian rapper. Suffice it to say, there’s ample reason to expect plenty of new music from artists who were forced to sit things out for an extended period — and 21 Savage is certainly excited to see how it plays out.

The Savage Mode 2 rapper took to Twitter to celebrate the influx of free rappers. “Rowdy Kodak and Bobby back 2021 starting off perfect,” he writes, alongside a slew of knives and devil. Naturally, Savage’s excitement immediately sparked speculation that he’d be reaching out to collaborate, so be sure to keep an eye out on the inevitable studio link-ups to follow. In other news, Savage also opened the floor to fan requests, inquiring as to which musical direction he should explore this year — unsurprisingly, Without Warning 2 with Offset and Metro Boomin was a popular choice, despite the fact it allegedly does not exist.

Drake Lends His Star Power To Drakeo The Ruler’s ‘Truth Hurts’ Single, ‘Talk To Me’

Drakeo The Ruler’s fortunes have changed a whole lot in a very short amount of time. After spending much of 2018, 2019, and 2020 in prison awaiting trial on gang charges, Drakeo was released in November, then released his mixtape We Know The Truth to general acclaim. Now, he’s secured the biggest look of his career to date, collaborating with Drake on “Talk To Me” from his upcoming album The Truth Hurts, due later tonight/first thing tomorrow morning.

On “Talk To Me,” Drake provides the hooks while Drakeo — yes, this as confusing to type as it is to read — raps, with both addressing the song’s theme of infatuation with a woman. There’s also some light tough talk, as Drake warns the potential love interest that he and his crew might have to get gully in the club. “We might slide on a n**** inside this club, girl, close your eyes,” he croons, somewhat paradoxically. Meanwhile, Drakeo plays aloof, reminding his sex buddy that “You can’t control me, why you acting like the police?”

Premiering the song on Apple Radio, Drakeo told Zane Lowe, “When I was in jail, I was supposed to do something [with Drake] already,” explaining how he actually forgot the song was in the works before he was arrested. “It was kind of crazy to me,” he observed. “I never thought none of this stuff would happen.”

Listen to Drakeo The Ruler’s Drake collaboration “Talk To Me” above.

The Truth Hurts is due at midnight ET.

DaBaby Accused Of Knocking Tooth Out Of Rental Property Owner

DaBaby clearly has no fear of getting sued. The rapper kinda has a reputation for his IDGAF attitude and often confrontational reaction in heated situations. According to Variety, the owner of Runyan Canyon vacation home has filed a lawsuit against DaBaby on claims that the MC assaulted him during an unauthorized video shoot at the home.

Gary Pagar claims that DaBaby violated COVID-19 conditions when renting the home. Pagar said that only 12 people would be allowed on the property but alleged the rapper had roughly 40 individuals gathered for the music video shoot. Pagar said that he attempted to shut down the situation before he was knocked to the ground. DaBaby allegedly hopped out of his vehicle and chased Pagar into the home. Pagar said DaBaby told him not to call the police before sucker-punching him in the mouth and knocking a tooth out.

“Mr. Kirk appears to think he’s a real tough guy,” the lawsuit states. “Mr. Kirk is wrong.”

The 64-year-old plaintiff said that DaBaby and the company that was with him took “valuable kitchenware” along with Pagar’s phone that was allegedly tossed back-and-forth as the plaintiff was on the ground. Pagar also accused DaBaby and his associates of removing the security camera in order to conceal the video shoot.

In the suit, which also lists Kinsza Virgil, DaBaby’s manager, as a defendant, said that the terms of the leases restricted the renter from using it for commercial purposes.

Kim Kardashian Rumored To Be Moving To Miami Post-Kanye Divorce

Kim Kardashian is already planning her hot girl summer, apparently. An insider reportedly noted in Life & Style’s latest issue that the soon-to-be-divorcee is ready to relocate to Miami for a few months.

The reality star has been the topic of conversation for several weeks, as divorce rumors floated around. On February 19th, TMZ confirmed Kim officially filed for divorce from rapper and husband of 7 years, Kanye West, and is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children. Sources say Kanye is fine with the proposed arrangement.

Another unnamed source mentioned to Life & Style that the socialite had the time of her life filming the Keeping Up With the Kardashians spin-off Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. The show lasted three seasons from 2009 to 2013, and documented the powerful sister duo running their boutique DASH in South Beach, Florida.

However, this time, Kim plans to return to Miami with a different agenda. The source said, “She’s checking out Miami real estate — and Miami men.” With Keeping Up With The Kardashians coming to an end, maybe there’s a possibility of a new series featuring the 40-year-old reality star.

Despite the source telling Life & Style she is ready to date, another source told E! that she just wants to enjoy her time being a mother.

Kim isn’t ready to date and is not focused on dating yet. She’s had a rough year and wants to focus on herself and her kids right now.”

Neither Kanye nor Kim has released an official statement regarding their divorce.

Halle Berry Reveals Her First Kiss Was With A Girl

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry revealed that she received her first kiss from another woman via Instagram on Thursday. Berry disclosed everything about the experience on an episode of her Instagram Live show Bad & Booshy.

In the newest episode of Bad & Booshy, the Monster’s Ball star revealed, much to the delight of the internet: “My first kiss… was with a girl, cause I had this boyfriend named LaShawn Boyd and I wanted to French kiss him, but I didn’t know how to French kiss, so I got my best girlfriend at the time to show me how to French kiss, so I could French kiss him.”

She continued, “So she came over to my house and kissed me for like 30 minutes. Literally showed me how to French kiss a boy. And then the next night, I went and French kissed LaShawn Boyd.” After a half-hour of kissing lessons from her best pal, young Halle mustered the courage to kiss her beau.

Bad & Booshy is a joint project with Halle and her friend and stylist Lindsay Flores, and no topic is off-limits for the pair. So when Flores asked Berry which kiss was better, the actress said, “LaShawn Boyd.” Berry did clarify that Lindsay was not the girl she was kissing in her story, however, the pair did tease that they may have kissed before. Flores alleged, “We kiss all the time, we’ve been kissing for 20 plus years.”

Fans have been learning a lot about Berry, just weeks before, the John Wick actress had no problem dishing about her first experience of self-pleasure. Berry recalled, “I remember my first orgasm … I did it to myself.” Flores asked how old she was, to which Halle says she was 11 years old. She then explained “I was diddling. I was figuring out my sexuality, like most girls.”

Juelz Santana Is Officially Off House Arrest

Juelz Santana is officially off of house arrest, sharing a new video of himself removing his ankle monitor on Instagram.

The rapper has had some recent trouble with the law, getting arrested three years ago on gun charges after he was caught trying to travel with an unmarked handgun at the airport. After security found the gun, the rapper reportedly fled the scene on foot, leaving his bags at the airport and evading the police. He spent some time in prison and after he was released, he was placed on house arrest. That all ends now because, on Tuesday afternoon, the Dipset member posted a video of himself having his ankle monitor taken off.

“Officially off house arrest,” proudly wrote Juelz Santana on Instagram. The rapper has had a tumultuous run over the last few years, being plagued by difficulties in his case. Thankfully, this seems to signal the end of that chapter, allowing him to move onto better days.

During his recent conversation with Fat Joe a few months ago, Juelz explained why he fled after TSA found his gun. He said that he was informed that higher authorities would be called in to search his bag, in which he forgot there was a gun. However, knowing that there was a warrant out for his arrest in New Jersey because of a traffic violation, he walked out of the airport and never looked back.

Royce Da 5’9″ Revisits “The Allegory” With “I Don’t Age” Video

Royce Da 5’9″ has been steadily putting out incredible music for decades now, and his latest body of work, the self-produced The Allegory, secured him the first Grammy nomination of his career. With one year having officially passed since Nickel released his milestone-achieving project, the Detroit lyricist came through with some visuals for one of the album’s standout tracks in “I Don’t Age.”

Visually, Royce opts to keep things relatively straightforward, at least in front of the camera. Behind the camera is another story altogether, however, as director Joe LeFleur utilizes the illusion of one singular long take for maximum immersion. All the while, Royce channels effortless charisma as a leading man, strolling through a dynamic household while chopping it up with the likes of KXNG Crooked and the Horseshoe Gang. There’s plenty of detail to appreciate in “I Don’t Age,” provided you can shift focus away from Royce’s bars and concentrate entirely on the visuals.

On that note, be sure to show some love to The Allegory in the comments. With the Grammy Awards set to transpire on Sunday, March 14th, many will likely be curious to tune in to the Best Rap Album category, where Nickel is set to go head-to-head with D Smoke, Freddie Gibbs, Nas, and Jay Electronica. A fierce competition, but one that Royce has been well conditioned for — after all, this is a man that does not age.

Travis Scott Details New Album “Utopia”

Travis Scott is one of the biggest artists in the world, shutting down the charts for a few weeks whenever he releases new music. Everything he drops is destined to be a huge commercial success, with all of his latest singles making an impact on the Billboard Hot 100.

La Flame has one of the most anticipated albums of the year, teasing Utopia for the last few months on social media as the next chapter in his star-studded music career. There hasn’t been a lot of information released regarding the high-profile project as details seem to be locked down within Travis’ camp but, during his latest interview with Robert Rodriguez for i-D Magazine, the rap star gave out some secrets.

“I never tell people this, and I’m probably going to keep it a secret still, but I’m working with some new people and I’m just trying to expand the sound,” said about his new album. “I’ve been making beats again, rapping on my own beats, just putting everything together and trying to grow it really. That’s been one of the most fun things about working on this album. I’m evolving, collaborating with new people, delivering a whole new sound, a whole new range.”

When asked if he feels pressure to create something as grand as Astroworld, Travis explains that he isn’t worried about making something in the same vein. “It’s never about repeating myself, I’m just trying to make the next saga… each album is like a saga,” he said. “I don’t feel no pressure, except to keep the fans alive. There’s so much more ground I can cover, and I want to cover it, and I love the challenge of it. I want to make a f*cking new sound. I might spend days banging my head against a wall trying to figure it out, but once I do it, it’s like ultimate ecstasy.”

While the pandemic has affected everyone equally, Travis says that he’s been able to spend more time on music, which is great for all of his fans to hear. “It made me way more productive,” he added. “You know, you’re not doing any shows. You not really doing too much traveling. You in the crib, and I got the studio at home and I have the peace to record all day, you know? Obviously like, you lose a little bit by not being able to travel and, you know, just see the earth.”

Travis ends by saying that the album is “coming soon” so we can all sleep well knowing that Utopia is almost here. Are you excited to rage?
