Kirk Franklin’s Son Shares Explicit Argument, Says He’s Been “Inconsistent With Therapy”
On Saturday (March 13), Kirk Franklin’s son Kerrion Franklin released audio on his Instagram which allegedly revealed threatening words said to him by his father. The 32-year-old uploaded the audio to social media, explaining in the caption how these heated exchanges were not a thing of the past.
“This is why I’m done. No father should speak to their children like this. If I have any issues it’s because of this type of treatment that I deal with behind closed doors,” he penned under the post. He continued, “Hanging up in my face, No apology, no compassion, no effort. Stop telling me to go home to my family I don’t even know where they live. I don’t think I’ll ever trust my father to be alone around him ever again. I didn’t want to do this.”
He finished, “I probably won’t release the entire recording because it’s too embarrassing that I’m even dealing with this. No matter what ppl think I pray my dad deals with his deep hatred toward me. I don’t feel safe around him at all. This recording is recent it is not from 2018 just to clarify. I’m going to learn from these experiences, live my life in peace and make beautiful art.” He’s spoken out previously about not being accepted in his family.
The heated exchange can be heard in the 45-second clip Kerrion shared. A voice identified as Kirk Franklin exclaims “I’ll put my foot in your a**,” following a muffled argument. Kerrion adds, “I dare you,” before the argument continued.
“I will break your neck ni***, don’t you ever disrespect me,” Franklin allegedly shouts at his son on the call. Kerrion replies, ‘I didn’t,” before the call abruptly ends.
The choir director has since issued an apology in a video on his own social media, saying that “for many years we have had a toxic relationship with him as a family” and tried to tend to the “private family matter” through therapy and counseling. In response to his apology, Kerrion created a second post airing out more of the family drama and calling B.S. on his apology.
He wrote in the lengthy caption that despite what his father said in the apology video, he has allegedly not been consistent with going to therapy with him and says he hasn’t been accepted for over 14 years by his family.
We’ll keep you updated on further developments.

Rick Ross Hits The Golf Course, Hails Himself “Rozay Woods”
Warmer weather is finally here and with the clocks turned ahead by an hour, we will now be subjected to a lot more sunlight. This means that golfers will finally be taking their clubs out of the basement, dusting them off, and hitting the golf course. Some people will be taking this opportunity to play golf for the very first time, and over the weekend, https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/rick-ross-wants-to-know-who-you-think-should-portray-him-in-a-biopic-news.128281.htmlthat’s exactly what Rick Ross did as he hit up the links with retired basketball superstar Dwyane Wade.
Wade already knows how to golf so he was there to give Ross some much-needed help with his swing. In the video below, you can see Ross hitting a shot from the fairway, and it’s quite clear that he is enjoying himself. The rapper even called himself Rozay Woods, although it remains to be seen if this nickname will stick.
“Introducing ‘Rozay Woods’ lol,” Ross said. “My homie @dwyanewade got me on the green today and gave me a few pointers. Had sum real laughs. Can’t wait to get back. Country club click.”
With Ross enjoying his first-ever golfing experience, you should expect him to be out there more in the future. Perhaps we will even see Ross make an appearance in some celebrity tournaments, depending on how well he develops his game.

Kid Cudi Regrets Not Working With XXXTentacion & Juice WRLD
Kid Cudi is one of the most influential artists when it comes to the new generation. Every single rapper who adds melodies to their tracks is probably someone who was inspired by Cudi and his early material. For instance, Travis Scott is constantly talking about Kid Cudi’s influence on him and how someday, he hopes to do a full-on collaborative project with the Ohio artist.
XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD are two artists who consistently showed love to Cudi and at one point, it seemed like a Juice WRLD x Cudi song was about to come out. While taking to Twitter recently, Cudi expressed regret over not linking with both artists, all while explaining why the Juice WRLD song never came out.
“Im really am pissed and heartbroken I never got to link w these guys. X and Juice were real ones. Loved what they brought to the game. It was beautiful to witness,” Cudi said. “Who knows man they holdin that song hostage for a check. I feel like if Juice was alive it woulda been came out. I really dont know.”
Cudi also went on to say that moving forward, he is going to keep showing love and that he will no longer hold himself back from collaborating with those who deserve it. Needless to say, we can expect more from Cudi in the not-so-distant future.
With Cudi’s new outlook on fresh artists, fans should be very excited for the future. All-in-all, you have to salute Cudi for the reflection.

Rihanna’s Label “Hasn’t Heard Anything” About ‘R9’
The 63rd annual Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah, are taking place tonight, Sunday, March 14th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. While many big names will be there for the ceremony, a notably absent presence from tonight’s events is none other than Rihanna. The Fenty CEO hasn’t released new music in close to five years, which has left eager fans impatient as they await a fresh project. While she’s teased fans for years about when the new project could possibly arrive, people close to Rih say her mogul-status and her desire for freedom have been delaying the release of R9.

When the New York Post reached out to a representative at her label Roc Nation about the status of the highly-anticipated project, the rep simply replied: “Don’t know … haven’t heard anything.” The publication also spoke with Memsor Kamarake, a stylist who has worked with the megastar, who explained her sporadic musical releases.
“You know how Sade drops an album, we love it and then she disappears to the English countryside every five or six years?” Kamarake said. “That’s Rihanna. She’s become bigger than the music.”
The publication also noted that on-air personality on the popular The Wake Up Show with Sway & King Tech Skyy Hook believes Rih enjoys the freedom working in fashion brings her. “Fenty … is why the album is taking so long to drop,” said Hook about Rihanna’s successful beauty and fashion brand.
“Rihanna understands her value,” said Hook, noting how, in the music industry, artists often have to pay back fees to labels for recording and promotion of an album. But with fashion, Hook explained, “There are not 50 people in Rihanna’s pocket before she even sees her profit. There are very little middle men in fashion compared to the music industry.”

While we do miss hearing new hits from Rihanna, it seems like she’s no longer wants to be the enormous pop star she once was. Thoughts on her new musical outlook? Sound off in the comments.

Carmelo Anthony Comments On Passing Hakeem Olajuwon On Scoring List
Carmelo Anthony is one of the most prolific scorers to ever play in the NBA. Over the past few years, some fans have tried to say that Melo is washed although he has proven this to be false ever since joining the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony has found his role as a secondary scorer on a team that boasts the talents of one of the best point guards in the league, in Damian Lillard.
Since joining the Blazers, Anthony has consistently crept up the all-time scorer’s list and last night, he reached yet another milestone. The Blazers star officially surpassed Hakeem Olajuwon for 11th on the all-time list. This was after a 26-point game in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Following the match, Carmelo spoke on just how much the milestone means to him.
“I’m still here, I’m still playing, I’m still going, I’m still enjoying the game, I’m still happy.. that’s all that matters,” Melo said. With this performance, Melo now has 26,946 points and this total is only going to keep going higher. Now, Melo will be going for the Top 10.
Melo has proven that he can still play at an elite level and we’re sure the Blazers are ecstatic that they gave him a chance last season.

Skepta & Ben Okri Team Up With Tony Allen On “Cosmosis”
A posthumous album from the late Tony Allen will arrive later this month to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his death. There Is No End is due out on April 30th through Blue Note records. Over the weekend, they released the first single from the project, “Cosmosis,” a collaboration alongside Skepta and Ben Okri. The song was co-produced by Allen, Damon Albarn, and Remi Kabaka.
“This man could have lived another 150 years and kept creating new worlds,” said Okri in a press statement. “He had become the master shaman of his art. He knew himself and his mind. He wanted the album to be open to the energies of a new generation… but like a great mathematician or scientist who found a code for a new world, with just a few beats, he created this extraordinary canvas.”

Future Co-Signs Bold Michael Jackson Comparison
Future is undeniably one of rap’s most powerful forces, namely for his role in popularizing Atlanta trap music among a slew of other accolades. He cemented this status in 2017 with the release of his sixth-studio album Hndrxx, which arrived just one week after releasing his self-titled fifth studio album. He made history by becoming the first artist to release two Billboard 200 chart-topping albums in consecutive weeks, and the former project was met with positive critical reviews. While surely an impressive era, the hitmaker thinks he would’ve blocked Michael Jackson’s insanely successful Thriller album from being as popular as it was had he been around in the 80s.

The 37-year-old Atlanta rapper co-signed a comparison made by a fan, reposting a screenshot of a tweet where the bold statement was made. “If ‘HNDRXX’ woulda came out in 1982 MJ woulda never blew up,” penned the fan, suggesting that MJ’s Thriller, which is the current best-selling album in history, would’ve maybe run into some commercial trouble had Future been around. His manager wrote on the screenshot, “That’s deep and one helluva compliment.”
Resharing his manager’s post in his story, Future added, “just saying….” seemingly in full agreement with the statements.
While Future’s commercial success is remarkable, this comparison does seem a bit unfounded. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!

NBA YoungBoy Drops Off A Ballad In “I Ain’t Scared”
NBA YoungBoy is one of the most prolific artists out right now as he is constantly dropping new songs. His most recent effort was called “Toxic Punk” and now, he is back with a brand new effort that was put on his YouTube yesterday. The track is called “I Ain’t Scared” and it is an emotional tale about the life he lives and how his lifestyle has affected those around him.
In terms of production, we get some piano lines and rattling hi-hats, which offers a more subdued approach compared to some of his other tracks. From there, YoungBoy gives us some autotuned lines about how he knows he can die at any moment and that he isn’t scared of it. He also drops fast bars throughout the track, and it’s clear the young artist is as focused as ever.
Give the track a spin, and let us know what you think.
Quotable Lyrics:
I’m alright
Don’t worry, don’t cry
Ain’t nothing no one can do to save my life
Just know I’m your flying angel if I leave through the night
