LeBron James’ political comments have certainly rubbed some people the wrong way, especially this past week after he posted the photo of the cop who killed Ma’Khia Bryant, with the caption “You’re Next.” LeBron eventually took the tweet down and simply stated that he wanted accountability from the police, although the damage has been done as many conservative voices want him out of the NBA. One such person is a Cincinnati bar owner named Jay Linneman who is now banning NBA games from his establishment.

The man believes LeBron needs to be banished and he will no longer support the NBA until it happens. In fact, Linneman wants all NBA players to stop talking about politics. LeBron ended up seeing this story and couldn’t help but make a funny comment about it, as he took to Twitter with a light jab at the owner.

“Aww Damn! I was headed there to watch our game tonight and have a drink! Welp,” LeBron wrote. LeBron has dealt with his fair share of hate over the years so it shouldn’t be a surprise to see him come through with a sarcastic clap back. After a while, it becomes annoying having to deal with the stick to sports crowd.

Meanwhile, patrons at Linneman’s bar will have to go about their drinks without any basketball to watch. After a while, that schtick might get old.

This weekend, friends and family of DMX will say their final goodbyes. A memorial service for the late rapper is set to be held today at 4 p.m. in Brooklyn. The COVID-19 health guidelines have restricted attendance to “A Celebration Of Life Memorial” for strictly close friends and family members since the Barclay’s Center can only host 10% of their usual capacity.

Hours before the ceremony, the Ruff Ryders were in full effect as X’s casket was taken to the Barclay’s Center in a monster truck which read, “Long Live DMX” on the side. Followed behind the truck was the Ruff Ryders bike crew who came out in numbers to ride X to the Barclay’s Center. One Twitter user said that over 2000 bikes were riding through Trinity Bridge for X. A birds-eye view of the scene corroborates this claim.

Tomorrow (April 25th), BET will be honoring the Yonkers legend with exclusive coverage of his homegoing celebration which is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. EST. Like his memorial, attendance in limited to his close friends and family but fans will also be able to live stream this event on YouTube.

“DMX is a musical icon whose impact was truly groundbreaking and transcended generations,” executive VP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, Connie Orlando said of X.

It’s becoming more and more clear that Cardi B was not kidding around when she said earlier this year she planned on building a billion-dollar brand the same way Rihanna has through her beauty and fashion ventures. She kicked off the plans with a recent Reebok collaboration on her Club C sneakers, following up with an apparel line launched Friday (April 23). 

The Bronx-bred rapper doesn’t seem to be slowing down, either. According to obtained trademark documents, the “Up” rapper’s next venture may be within the beauty industry.

According to legal documents filed by Cardi’s Washpoppin Inc. company recently, she’s looking to secure the legal rights to the phrase “Bardi Beauty.”  It’s likely Cardi will eventually launch different glam products down the line using this branding. The documents reveal she’s apparently aiming to unleash a slew of glamorous products like cosmetics, fragrances, haircare, skincare, nail polish, nail enamel, and anything else within the realm of beauty. 

The legal docs list Cardi as the CEO of Washpoppin Inc. using her real name, Belcalis Almanzar. If Bardi Beauty stands as just one endeavor under the company, Cardi may very well be on her way to building her own massive empire.

Cardi has been following in Rihanna’s footsteps very closely. The Fenty CEO began to earn her mogul status by linking up with streetwear company Puma as their creative director, releasing memorable shoes like the Fenty x Puma slides and the Fenty x Puma creepers. She eventually went on to launch her own fashion house, Fenty Beauty, and the Savage x Fenty lingerie line. 

The success of Rih’s beauty line lied in its never-before-seen shade range, single-handedly changing the beauty industry as it was once known. As for Cardi, if all goes as planned, Bardi Beauty could be the next popping beauty brand at a Sephora near you.

While the Air Jordan 1 High OG is the most popular of the Air Jordan 1 iterations, there is no denying that the Mid has its place amongst the rest. It is a more cost-efficient model than the High OG and it’s also typically more accessible. This has allowed numerous casual sneakerheads to cop some heat over the years and with each new season, Jumpman comes through with some dope Jordan 1 Mid colorways that always seem to impress.

The latest Air Jordan 1 Mid model to be revealed is this “Tan Gum” version which can be found below. As you can see, the upper is mostly constructed with white leather, all while the overlays, Nike swoosh, and back heel are a tanned coffee color. There is even a gum outsole here which is a nice little touch that helps to add some contrast. If you want something with a smooth look for the spring and summer, then these are definitely worth considering.

We’re on the last Saturday of April which means that summer is just around the corner. Though the pandemic slowed down a lot of releases over the past year, artists have still been cranking out new projects as vaccination numbers go up with hopes we’ll officially be outside this summer. On Friday, we received a bunch of new music from some of the hottest in the game.

This week’s Fire Emoji playlist includes a slew of new heat including a few highlights off of Moneybagg Yo’s latest album, A Gangsta’s Pain. The Pharrell-assisted, “Certified Neptunes” and “Shottas” were both necessary additions to the playlist this week. Young Thug’s YSL imprint came through with their latest compilation album, Slime Language 2 last week. Highlighting the array of talent on roster, and many A-List names who assist, the deluxe edition arrived with another eight songs. A few cuts from the OG and the deluxe edition creep their way onto the playlist, as well.

Despite his legal troubles, NBA Youngboy is apparently in album mode with Sincerely, Kentrell slated to arrive next month. His latest single, “Territorial” highlights the softer, more vulnerable side of Youngboy. Will this be what his next project consists of entirely? Who knows, but it’s a promising indication of what he has in store.

Other additions to this week’s playlist include new heat from Fivio Foreign who dropped off “Unruly” on Friday. With Cordae still working away on his next studio album, he gave fans a taste of what’s next with Just Until… His collaboration with Young Thug on “Wassup” is certainly sounding like it’ll be on repeat for the months ahead.

Fans across the world continue to mourn the death of one of the greatest to ever do it, DMX. The rap legend died on April 9th after he was taken off of life support. Across social media, fans, friends, and peers offered their prayers while sharing their favorite memories of X. His impact on his fanbase was deep and will never be forgotten.

Earlier this week, his family announced plans for a memorial that will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center at 4 p.m. EST on April 24th. The capacity has been limited to 10% due to COVID-19 restrictions with only close friends and family of X allowed to be in attendance. However, fans will be able to tune in from home to watch the “Celebration Of Life Memorial” on YouTube at 4 p.m.

Tomorrow (April 25th), BET will be covering X’s “Homegoing Celebration.” The coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. EST on both their channel and their YouTube page.

Dana White has been a huge Jake Paul hater ever since he started entering the world of boxing. White’s hate for Paul was only increased when it was announced that Jake would get to fight former UFC Ben Askren. Leading up to the fight, White said that he would be $1 million on Askren to win, which was a bet that Paul tried to take up. Even Snoop Dogg claims he bet White on the fight, although Snoop says it was for $2 million instead of just one.

Last weekend, Jake officially won his fight against Askren and now, he wants White to pay up. In fact, according to TMZ, Paul took to his IG story recently where he called out White, demanding that he get paid his $1 million. It also looks like Jake wants White to pay Snoop as well.

What makes this callout interesting is the fact that there is no real proof that White placed an official bet with either of them. Everyone knows that White likes to say outrageous things as a way to promote fights and Paul is the exact same way. With this in mind, it should not come as a surprise that Jake would be taking this public, even if the actual bet might not exist in the first place.

For now, White is a lot more preoccupied with UFC 261 which will see a rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman.

Natalia Bryant, the eldest daughter of late NBA star Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant, has surely been making her loved ones proud. Vanessa recently expressed joy on social media after the 18-year-old was accepted into Loyola Marymount University. In addition to her college acceptance, she also signed to the famed modeling agency IMG Models last month as well. 

As part of her new modeling gig, Natalia opened up about how much her mother has inspired her in Vogue and Bulgari’s new Mother’s Day campaign in a new short film. Titled A Mother’s Legacy, it promises to share, “an intimate glance into their special relationship, revealing how they inspire, motivate and empower one another.” 

“People may not remember what you did or may not remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel,” Natalia says in the video. “That’s the lesson that I’ve carried throughout my life,” she tells her mother. “You’re the strongest person I’ve ever known.”

She continues, “We connect on a whole different level, and I feel like that’s rare in mother-daughter relationships.” Joining her daughter in the film, Vanessa tells her, “I wish that I had someone like you when I was growing up.”

“You not only just an amazing daughter, but an amazing friend,” she adds.”You’re like the constant North Star to all your friends. … No matter what, you’re always there, and they can always rely on you and count on you.”  

“Over the years, she taught me confidence, and that beauty comes from the inside first,” raves Natalia in the video about her mother. “Beauty fades, so be sure to be positive, confident and like who I am, my morals and views. That’s definitely helped shape who I am as an individual.”

After being signed to IMG Models, Natalia expressed she was “beyond thrilled to be part of the agency.” She explained, “I have a love for the industry, and ever since I can remember I wanted to model. There is a lot to learn but I feel this is a great opportunity for me to learn and express myself creatively.”
