Future & Dess Dior Get Close: “Call My N*gga MLK Cuz He Believe In My Dreams”

For two people who are keeping the details of their relationship close to the chest, we sure do see quite a bit of Future and girlfriend Dess Dior. The pair of lovers like to flaunt their romance with the world, and in true Future fashion, he and his lady are tight-lipped about what goes on in their personal lives. Yet, Future and Dess know how to strike a pose when the cameras are on, and they did just that with their latest set of Instagram photos and videos.

In one photo, Dess is seen sitting on Future’s lap as she looks at him lovingly. Future grins from ear-to-ear with his arms around his girlfriend, and in the caption, Dess delivered a line from her recently released single, “Tenin.” She wrote, “Call my n*gga MLK cuz he believe in my dreams,” before shouting out her latest release.

On the track she rapped, “I just wanna hold my n*gga down till the end / I just a copped a new boutique and bought my mom a Benz / Call my n*gga MLK ’cause he believed in my dreams / Thought you hoes was heatin’ up I blew up off a scheme.” Check out Future and Dess along with a few reactions to her bar below as some people like seeing the couple together, while others don’t want Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s name involved.

ILoveMakonnen Says People “Discredit” His “Talents” & “Influence” Since Coming Out As Gay

It’s been a minute since we’ve had news about ILoveMakonnen and he’s coming in hot. The singer-rapper burst onto the scene with his breakout “Tuesday” that hosted a remix with a feature from Drake. The former OVO Sound artist was the next big thing on the block but in 2017, ILoveMakonnen said that Drizzy and his OVO crew threatened him. We haven’t received a project from the rapper in some time, but he resurfaced online to tweet about his place in the industry and the lack of respect he feels he deserves.

“Why they love leaving me out of the 2014-2015 music talks now days, the shade the blogger girls and music sites be giving!!! Honey! Was I not there??” ILoveMakonnen questioned. “Is it cus I came out as gay? Since I came out as gay everyone has tried to discredit my music talents and originality and influence. I know y’all ashamed to say u was on a gay mans d*ck, but just keep it 100 since everyone so real nowadays.”

He added that it amuses him to see that “hip hop loves fashion brands made by gay men” but doesn’t embrace gay artists. “U confusing yourself.” ILoveMakonnen also tweeted, “Rappers be feeling confident bragging about being in gay designer brands and buying their so called girlfriend gay designer handbags but u don’t f*ck with music made by a gay man cus why?”

In discussions about LGBTQIA+ artists in the Rap industry, some have argued that fans are becoming much more accepting than past generations. However, others believe we have a long way to go. Do you think ILoveMakonnen was edged out due to his sexuality? Swipe below to check out his tweets.

Dreezy Drops List Of “Lyrical Female Rappers” That She Believes Are “Slept On”

In recent years, there has been an overwhelming rise in women who have staked their claim in the Rap Game. Even so, there are still those who argue that women aren’t as appreciated for their lyrical abilities, but Dreezy stepped forward to show love to her fellow lady emcees. The Chicago rapper tweeted a few names that she believes haven’t received the recognition they deserve, sparking yet another “Top” list discussion about women in Rap.

Lyrical Female Rappers appreciation tweet, just cus the ppl sleep,” Dreezy tweeted before listing off a few names. “Rapsody. Chika. Lady London. Omeretta. Tierra Whack. No Name. Yung MA. Snow Da Product. Dreezy. Add to the list, put somebody on today.” She added, “All of these girls can go toe to toe wit yo fav rapper. I’ll be money on it.”

Elsewhere she stated, “Cupcakke, Lakeyah, B.I.A. Tokyo Jetz, Melii [strong arm emoji] Etc. Y’all know wassup.” After the tweets were reposted by The Neighborhood Talk, Dreezy slid in their comments to clarify a few things. “[And] When I said toe to toe w yo fav rapper, I was speaking on men,” said wrote. “Nicki [Minaj] is the goat. I’m showin love to ppl I felt is slept on [red heart emoji].

We have, of course, watched as Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B have taken over airwaves, earning both ladies their first Grammy awards. Check out Dreezy’s tweets below and let us know which women in the Rap game you believe deserve more attention.

Lil Wayne Marvels At His Own Bars After He Forgot He Wrote Them

With over 25 years of music under his belt, it’s understandable that Lil Wayne wouldn’t remember every lyric he’s ever written. The Grammy-winning rapper is hailed as one of the greatest emcees of all time and his bars have been celebrated worldwide, but when he was recently confronted with a few lines from the remix of his chart-topping “Lollipop” single, Weezy seemed astounded that he came up with the rhyme-scheme.

Fox Sports‘s Darnell Smith sat down with Wayne and was able to receive some wisdom from the rapper, but a funny moment during their exchange has gone viral. In the clip, Smith mentions Weezy rapping, “Safe sex is great sex / Better wear a latex / ‘Cause you don’t want that late text / That ‘I think I’m late’ text.” Wayne stared in amazement and replied, “I said that?!”

“I didn’t know why I said it or why I said it, but I said it,” Weezy added. It’s good to see that Lil Wayne is just as impressed with his own lyrics even though he isn’t quite sure what song they belong to. Check out two clips from Wayne’s chat with Smith below and let us know what Weezy bars are your favorites.

Kodak Black Resurfaces & Seems To Respond To Ambush Shooting

He’s only been out of prison for a few months, but Kodak Black is finding himself to be a target. The rapper has been enjoying life after receiving his pardon from former President Donald Trump, but Kodak had a scare in Tallahassee. We previously reported on Kodak Black visiting the city to perform at The Strip before making an appearance at Baja’s Beach Club for the afterparty. The rapper and his crew were at the McDonald’s next door to The Strip when someone followed them to the location and opened fire as Kodak was reportedly inside.

It’s reported that one of Kodak’s security guards was injured but the status of his recovery is not yet known. Kodal hasn’t issued a formal statement about the incident, but he did draw attention to the altercation in his own way. Over on his Instagram Story, Kodak shared a photo of his brightly colored whip that may have been taken into custody following the shooting.

“That Baby Back [smiling emoji with sunglasses],” Kodak wrote over an image of his car. “This What You Posta Shoot @.” Robert Vazquez, the owner of the McDonald’s location, told local reporters that everyone inside of his establishment is cooperating with the authorities.

“We are aware of the incident that happened on the street in front of our restaurant,” Vazquez said. “Our biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers. We are fully cooperating with the Tallahassee Police Department, who will provide all updates on this investigation.”

Authorities are hoping that the public will help identify suspects involved. Check out Kodak’s Story and post-shooting footage below.

Iggy Azalea Blasts Music Industry: “The Grammys Are Rigged A F*ck”

She’s already raised eyebrows for posting screenshots of those blue check-marked Instagram profiles that have slid in her DMs with offers, but airing out her private messages wasn’t the only thing on Iggy Azalea’s agenda this weekend. The Australian-born rapper recently released her Tyga-assisted single “Sip It,” and while both Iggy and her fans expected for the single to climb the charts, she accused YouTube of refusing to promote her latest music video.

“So @YouTube won’t recommended my video or add it to trending because of the ‘content in the video’ I’ve waited 48 hours and still can’t get a real answer from anyone at YouTube about why they have far more controversial videos in their trending list as week speak,” tweeted Iggy. “Sip It” is an NSFW clip, but plenty of artists have scantily clad women in their music videos.

“I’m really disappointed because I’m indie and I depend on things like that for streaming,” Iggy continued. “I sent my video in to their staff a week prior and they told me it was perfect, no issues. I don’t really feel like it’s fair, and I really wish someone at @youtube would resolve it.” This wasn’t the only grievance Iggy had with the industry.

“The Grammys are rigged as f*ck and y’all know that now and collectively agree but forget the whole biz is ran by the same mfs planning THAT event… so why don’t you believe the whole industry is the same way… This YALL logic,” she tweeted elsewhere. She previously took aim at Spotify, accusing them of falsifying their information. Check out a few messages, as well as the music video for Iggy Azalea and Tyga’s “Sip It” below.

Funk Flex Calls Out Industry Folks Using DMX For Clout But Haven’t Checked In

As Rap fans around the world await news about DMX’s recovery, Funkmaster Flex has a bone to pick with the industry. The famed DJ has known Dark Man X for years and was devastated by the news that DMX reportedly suffered a heart attack following a drug overdose. The rapper’s loved ones have gathered outside of the hospital where DMX is being treated and held a vigil in his honor while Funk Flex got a few things off of his chest during a recent chat with Page Six.

“The music business is a gorilla. It’s a bottomless pit of happiness or depression,” said Flex. “I don’t wanna say people don’t help you but I do want to say there are people who actually know [when a star is struggling, but don’t help] sometimes… You don’t always get the best help when money is being made.”

“It’s rough for someone like a DMX who may be in a mental and emotional state of childhood trauma that has happened to him and then being thrown into the money and fame.” DMX has been candid about the struggles during his upbringing, the abuse he endured, and his life on the streets as a child.

“I know he shares his demons and we may have to amplify that demon and amplify his story and his feelings so that the next generation can kind of see a little better, a little clearer,” said Flex, before he called out X’s industry friends who haven’t kept in touch but were quick to through up photos of DMX on social media. “People can find the picture…that they had with the person that’s going through a tragedy in thirty seconds, but you haven’t called that person in ten years.”

“Let me see the picture of you when you went afterwards to his house because you was so concerned,” Flex added. “I never see that picture where they go to the house. Nipsey Hussle passed away and every washed-up rapper made a pilgrimage to L.A. to go to the Marathon store to take a picture or to get their cards swiped. Bro, Nipsey needed that support when he was alive.”

Do you agree with Flex? Check out images from DMX’s vigil below.
