Lizzo Drops Conscious TikTok: “There’s A Whole System That Oppresses Fat People”

Three-time Grammy award-winner Lizzo is known for huge singles like “Truth Hurts” and “Juice” as well as her critically acclaimed album Cuz I Love You, and since the multitalented artist’s astronomical rise, she has also become a cheerleader and spokesperson for the fat community. Throughout countless interviews and features, Lizzo has made an effort to promote body positivity and stop people from fat-shaming others.

In a recent TikTok stitch, the multihyphenate further elaborated on the societal challenges that come with being fat after TikTok user @cocainecuban posed the question, “Would you wake up and trade places with somebody who was on the heavier side?”

##stitch with @cocainecuban I remember fantasizing about waking up in a slim persons body.. it was exhausting.

“I’m glad she asked,” Lizzo replied as she began her extensive explanation about the prevailing stigmas against fat people. After citing Dr. Jane Elliot’s famous 1968 demonstration about racism, Lizzo repeated the original TikTok user’s question, asking, “Would you switch places with a fat person’s body tomorrow?”

“You would not because you know that there’s a whole system that oppresses fat people that you do not experience and you will never experience,” she continued. “So let’s remember, body positivity —‌ yes we want to end harassment and shame, but we also are working to dismantle a system that oppresses fat people.”

Lizzo’s TikTok marks her latest public remarks about fat-shaming and body positivity, giving her fans and followers some food for thought. What are your thoughts on what the Grammy award-winner had to say?

NBA Youngboy Loses His Smile In New Picture From Jail

Last week, a number of photos surfaced showing Youngboy Never Broke Again with other inmates behind bars. In the pictures, the rapper appears to be in good spirits, showing his pearly whites for the camera. The rapper is currently locked up after fleeing from the police in Los Angeles. He’s facing a maximum sentence of ten years.

The latest picture of NBA Youngboy has been released online, but he does not look as pleased as he did last week. In the latest flick, the 21-year-old loses his smile and faces the camera flash head-on. The mugshot-type image shows Youngboy with a facemask pulled down around his neck. He also grew a light mustache in the last week.

Despite his current incarceration, the rapper’s personal life remains as messy as it ever has been. This week, Yaya Mayweather seemingly addressed Youngboy’s new girlfriend Jazlyn Mychelle, posting a straight-faced picture and “checking” her. Cardi B Laughs Off Reports That Her Grammys ‘WAP’ Performance Sparked Over 1,000 FCC Complaints

It’s been a few weeks since Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s racy performance of their hit song “WAP” at the 2021 Grammys, but the performance is still causing controversy among more conservative viewers. While it was previously reported that the performance drew a number of FCC complaints, yesterday, Rolling Stone turned up a more exact number — over 1,000 angry emails from viewers who compared it to porn and packed their long-winded missives with plenty of slut-shaming and melodrama.

Of course, Cardi herself has been the target of conservative complaints ever since she helped Bernie Sanders with his 2020 presidential campaign, so she’s used to the histrionics. She remained unbothered when the complaints were brought to her attention quote-tweeting a fan account’s screenshot and adding a .gif of a smug-looking Wendy Williams smirking at the camera to an eye-roll emoji and several laughing ones.

Maybe Cardi is unfazed because she sees through the disingenuous intentions behind such complaints, as she pointed out a few hours later. Commenting on conservative voices’ apparent silence after a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer shot and killed resident Daunte Wright — on camera, no less — Cardi noted the glaring hypocrisy. “Where the f*ck are you Twitter blue-check Republicans at?” she wondered. “Y’all are the loudest in this motherf*ckin’ app. Y’all not saying nothing, y’all not complaining. Y’all blame everything with what’s wrong with America beside the police! Y’all have been very silent! What’s going on?”

Cardi B Accuses High-Profile Republicans Of Having A Quiet Response To Daunte Wright’s Death

Following Daunte Wright’s death after being shot by police during a traffic stop a few days ago, many thoughts about the situation have been shared. Now Cardi B has chimed in and one of her big questions is why she’s not seeing a lot of high-profile Republican leaders addressing the incident.

Cardi shared a video last night, which she started by summarizing the Wright situation, as well as that of Caron Nazario, an Army lieutenant who was pepper sprayed and had guns drawn on him during a traffic stop in December (video footage of the incident recently surfaced). She then continued, “My thing is: Where the f*ck are you Twitter blue-check Republicans at? Y’all are the loudest in this motherf*ckin’ app. Y’all not saying nothing, y’all not complaining. Y’all blame everything with what’s wrong with America beside the police! Y’all have been very silent! What’s going on?” She also wrote alongside the video, “Ya been real [quiet] .Twitter Blue check Republicans are a f*ckin joke .I don’t ever want to see yaa ranting on celebrities, athletes until yall address what’s REALLY WRONG IN AMERICA !”

Other folks from the music world have chimed in as well, including Snoop Dogg, Phoebe Bridgers, and Madonna.

It’s Been Four Years Since Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN”

It can be argued that hip-hop fans have been spoiled by faster turnaround times than ever before, with rappers sometimes delivering multiple albums in the same year. Yet in the case of Kendrick Lamar, whose most recent body of work came exactly four years ago to this day, the drought has been a relatively trying one.

Of course, DAMN. has built up quite the legacy in its own right. Currently triple platinum, the project also boasts many multi-platinum singles; “DNA” is three times platinum, “LOVE” is four times platinum, “LOYALTY” is double platinum, and “HUMBLE” is seven-times platinum. The album also earned Kendrick the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Music, as well as the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Suffice it to say, DAMN. is beloved by fans and critics alike, with some arguing that it holds some of Kendrick’s most conceptually challenging and replayable lyricism.

Given the nature of the work itself, a lengthy delay should be expected. Though he doesn’t often speak on the nuances of his creative process, it’s evident that Kendrick Lamar spends ample time writing, so it’s not exactly surprising to see such a lengthy delay. Yet four years is an admittedly lengthy process, and Kendrick Lamar fans have now found their patience tested like never before.

While reports have occasionally surfaced on occasion — by now, the rumors of a more “rock-inspired” sound are an ancient memory — Kendrick’s upcoming studio album remains entirely shrouded in secrecy. True, he was rumored to be shooting a music video not too long ago, but nothing ultimately came of that. Frustrating though it may be at times, it’s that same enigmatic pre-release process that makes a Kendrick rollout so exciting — provided there’s enough light at the end of the tunnel. Going on four years now, that light might feel a little faint.

As they say, good things come to those who wait. Are you expecting to see any news on Kendrick Lamar’s mysterious project before the end of the year?

Floyd Mayweather Reacts To Jake Paul Sexual Assault Allegations

Jake Paul has been trying to get a fight with Floyd Mayweather for months. He’s set to step into the ring against Ben Askren this weekend but a fresh batch of sexual assault allegations may derail his future in boxing.

TikTok star Justine Paradise released a video this week, claiming that Jake Paul sexually assaulted her at his mansion in Los Angeles. The influencer claimed that she regularly went over to his team’s house, where she described her encounters with Jake as “awkward.” Apparently, the YouTuber would text her from across the room instead of actually speaking with her. One night, while they were in the studio, Jake allegedly grabbed Justine by the hand and brought her to his bedroom where they consensually kissed. Justine rejected his sexual advances, making it clear that she wasn’t interested in going any further with him. He allegedly forcefully stood up, removed his pants, and forced Justine to perform oral sex on him. According to the TikToker, the assault only lasted about thirty seconds before Jake finished and went back to the studio.

Jake Paul has issued a statement where he “categorically denies” the allegations against him. His rival Floyd Mayweather has also commented on the claims made by Justine Paradise, saying the following:

“The kid is so thirsty, he harassing females. Some people don’t understand the word NO!!! He must don’t know they’re locking everybody up quick for stuff like this. It was just a matter of time. Tik….Tok.”

What do you think about the sexual assault allegations against Jake Paul, as well as the response from Floyd Mayweather?

Ari Fletcher Responds To Criticism About Her Drinking At Son’s 3rd Birthday Party

Ari Fletcher and G Herbo’s son Yosohn recently turned three years old, and to celebrate the occasion, the former couple threw him a huge birthday bash over the weekend. Among the several people who were in attendance was G Herbo’s fiancé Taina Williams, with whom the rapper is expecting his second son. Taina Williams recently denied rumors that the couple was already dating while G Herbo was still with Ari back in 2018, and at the party, both Taina and Ari didn’t seem to have any hostility toward her.

With the lack of drama on that front, fans managed to still find an issue with Yosohn’s party, as they turned their attention to Ari drinking a Colt 45 while at a children’s party.

As seen above and in many other videos floating around the internet, Ari Fletcher was enjoying an alcoholic beverage during Yosohn’s party, and while some people may view that as normal behavior, several fans took an issue with Ari having alcohol at a three-year-old’s party. After catching wind of the criticisms, Ari took to Twitter to clear the air about her decision to drink at Yosohn’s party, revealing that she wasn’t the only person at the birthday bash who was having drinks.

“People mad I had liquor at my son party? I had a whole bar,” she wrote in a recent tweet. “We had fire shots, mixed drinks, ghetto drinks out of noodle cups… b*tch you name it and I had it in that b*tch. One thing about it… I’m gone have me a drink… f*ck y’all!”

Judging by her statement, Ari Fletcher is apparently unbothered with the criticism and doesn’t see an issue with having alcohol available at a child’s birthday party. Do you agree with her on this one?

King Von’s Sister Comments On Quando Rondo’s Interview With Angela Yee

If you could get through both parts of Quando Rondo’s latest interview with Angela Yee, where the Georgia-based rapper annoyingly refers to The Breakfast Club co-host as “ma’am” and dances around in circles every time he’s asked a direct question about what happened on the night of November 6, 2020, then you’re up-to-date on the latest involving Quando’s response to King Von’s fatal shooting. On that night, Quando says that his team went to the Atlanta-area hookah lounge, where he remained in his car and slept. Upon witnessing a group of people walking toward him in the parking lot, Quando says he let the gathering pass by but when they got closer, King Von allegedly punched him right in the face.

According to Quando, he didn’t know that it was King Von that punched him until the next day. The rapper defended himself and his story during his multiple-part interview with Angela Yee, and we’re finally hearing from somebody close to Von about all of this. The rapper’s sister, influencer Kayla B, commented on the topic on Tuesday night on Twitter.

“Y’all might as well go talk 2 the police talking in these interviews,” wrote Kayla following the release of the second part of Quando’s talk with Yee. While she doesn’t mention any names, it’s pretty obvious that she’s referring to Quando here. People are commenting on her post, reminding her that mere days after Von’s death, his manager Track was giving interviews to VladTV

Hank Azaria Admits To Overwhelming Apu Guilt

Hank Azaria’s long-running portrayal of The Simpsons character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, owner of the Kwik-E-Mart and father of eight, came to an end after the actor decided to step away from the controversial character. In the wake of his decision, Azaria has been relatively vocal about feeling overwhelming guilt. So much so that Azaria recently issued an apology to “every Indian person” during an appearance on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s Armchair Expert podcast.

Explaining that liquid courage played a role in stoking his initial defiance toward the controversy, Azaria credited sobriety with granting him a renewed sense of clarity. “This was not a two-week process — I needed to educate myself a lot,” he explained. “If I had not gotten sober, I promise you it wouldn’t have taken much wine for me to be in my feelings one night and fire off a tweet that I felt justified in firing off. Some kind of defensive, white-fragile tweet. Boy, was I glad I had a system in place where I could look at this thing.”

“I really do apologize,” he continues. “I know you weren’t asking for that, but it’s important. I apologize for my part in creating that and participating in that. Part of me feels like I need to go to every single Indian person in this country and personally apologize. And sometimes I do. I was speaking at my son’s school…I was talking to the Indian kids there because I wanted to get their input. A 17-year-old — he’s never even seen The Simpsons but knows what Apu means. It’s practically a slur at this point. All he knows is that is how his people are thought of and represented to many people in this country.”

Though it’s clear that Azaria continues to feel the weight of overwhelming guilt, TMZ reports that Hindu American Foundation rep Shereen Bhalla invited the actor to sit down for a conversation, indicating that his willingness to educate himself could go a long way in absolving his inner turmoil. Either way, it’s clear that Azaria feels haunted by his decades-long run as Apu — though some Simpsons fans may take issue with the way the character was ultimately handled.
