Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon” Revealed: Official Photos & Release Date

All the way back in 2005, Nike teamed up with the now-defunct sneaker boutique Dave’s Quality Meat, where they came through with an Air Max 90 that fit the aesthetics of the store. The resulting model was the Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon” which eventually became a resale darling with pairs going for over $1000 USD online. Ever since the boutique shut down, sneakerheads have been wondering whether or not this shoe would ever get a retro, and it just so happens that the answer was, indeed, yes.

Recently, Nike came through with the official product photos of the shoe and as you can see, the original sneaker is well-respected. While the base of the shoe is white, the overlays consist of brown, pink, and red, which are all colors that would represent a cut of bacon or any other sort of pork-related product. Longtime sneakerheads will be salivating to get their hands on these, although expect some big-time Ls on the SNKRS App.

The release date has been set for March 26th which just so happens to be Air Max Day. Let us know what you think of this new retro, in the comments section below.

Jennifer Hudson Covers A Classic With “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”

Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is a classic track that everyone should know by now. It brings back a lot of great memories for many, and recently, Jennifer Hudson got to give her own rendition of the song as part of Mastercard’s Strivers Initiative which helps to elevate businesses own and ran by black women. This new version of the song is produced by will.i.am and in a statement, Hudson revealed what doing this cover means to her.

“I am fortunate to have been influenced and inspired by so many incredible Black female role models as I’ve pursued my dreams, but that’s not always the case for all Black girls and women,” Hudson said.

Hudson’s vocals are as soulful as ever and it is one of those covers that does the original justice. If you’re a big fan of soul and r&b, this effort is a must-listen.

Just call my name, I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry

Lizzo Trolls An Instagram User With A Taste Of Their Own Medicine After They Questioned Her Weight

Despite all the awards and commercial success she’s attained in her career, Lizzo still faces harmful comments from fans throughout the music world. Unfortunately, another instance of this occurred this past weekend during an Instagram Live session. While chatting with her followers, the singer was asked how she deals “with being obese every day.” Upon reading the message, Lizzo cracked a smile and delivered a response that saw her get the last laugh.

“I wake up into my obese bed — I have to get a king bed because I’m so obese — and I put on my I put on my obese Louis Vuitton house slippers,” she said. “I walk into my massive, obese bathroom and I just stare into my wall-to-wall, obese mirror and lather myself in the most obese, expensive oils and creams, and — oh, god — I walk into my obese, gorgeous, mid-century modern kitchen, and by the time I’ve made it into my kitchen, I’ve already made another obese million dollars.”

She continued by shedding some fake tears and adding, “My bank account is so fat. My bank account is so obese, and, like, I tried to put it on a diet but she’s just so stubborn, like, she won’t listen.”

You can watch the video from the Instagram Live above.

Lizzo is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Zion Williamson Receives Huge All-Star Game Promotion

Breaking news came out of the NBA today as Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid were officially ruled out of the All-Star Game due to COVID-19 protocols. Both players share a personal barber and after meeting with the man before their flight to Atlanta, the barber tested positive for the Coronavirus. After a second test, it was confirmed that the barber still had the virus, which ultimately forced Embiid and Simmons to not participate in the match, with no roster replacements.

Embiid was one of the starting players for Team Durant, and now, his spot on the starting lineup is being filled by one of the younger talents in the NBA. Of course, we are talking about Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans who has been a blockbuster player for NOLA so far this season.

Having Williamson on the court to start his very first All-Star Game will be huge for the league and it will probably help out the ratings quite a bit. Zion is one of those guys that everyone wants to see play and having him front and center tonight will be a whole lot of fun.

Hopefully, the rest of the players in the league are able to stay healthy from now until tonight, and we get ourselves a fun and entertaining All-Star experience.

Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons Officially Out Of All-Star Game

Just about an hour ago, it was revealed that Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons would be placed into a prolonged quarantine in Atlanta ahead of the All-Star Game. This was because Embiid and Simmons’ barber had tested positive for COVID-19 and they had contact with him prior to leaving for the game. As a result, the league wanted to take every precaution necessary, and now, it seems like a final decision has been made.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Embiid and Simmons will not be allowed to participate in the All-Star Game tonight, as the barber received a second positive COVID-19 test. This is a devastating blow to these two players, as well as the league who were already catching heat for having the game in the first place.

Neither of these two players will be replaced, as it is too short notice. This will ultimately put a huge damper on the game as two of the league’s best players will now be on the outside looking in due to circumstances largely out of their control.

With the All-Star Game just hours away, the NBA will have to make sure the rest of the players are safe, which is no easy task.

Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak Offer A Taste On “Silk Sonic Intro”

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are two artists who’ve innovated the past for a refreshing dose of nostalgia. Rooted in soul and funk, it only made sense that the two artists would come together for a collaborative effort at some point. No one knew how soon but the results of the pairing on wax is nothing short of greatness.

While we received “Leave The Door Open” on Friday, the duo also slid in with a quick intro from their forthcoming project that gives us a better taste of what’s to come. With contributions from Bootsy Collins, it runs for a bit over but the funky and soulful energy they bring is something we look forward to hearing more of in the future.

Check out Anderson and Bruno Mars’ “Silk Sonic Intro” below.

6ix9ine Cruelly Pokes Fun Of Pooh Shiesty’s Brother’s Death

It seems like for Tekashi 6ix9ine, the word “snitch” or “rat” should come with a trigger warning in his day-to-day life. Since the aftermath of his high-profile federal RICO case, any reference to the word sets the Brooklyn rapper off on a tirade of violence and anger. Take for example the lawsuit a Miami stripper filed against the rapper recently for aggravated assault after he hurled a glass bottle across the room at a nightclub when someone called him a rat. His latest crusade at the suggestion of snitch activity is against Pooh Shiesty, and of all places underneath a DJ Akademiks comment section.

The hip-hop media personality reposted a screenshot of Pooh Shiesty giving a word on “snitches.” The “Back in Blood” artist penned on a black screen in his story, “It’s 2 types of rats in the world. Only 1 type of snitch.”

He continued in a second story post, “You don’t got to talk to the police to be a rat.” While it is unclear who exactly the Memphis native might be talking about, like a rat to cheese, 6ix9ine took to the comment section of the post to leave an insensitive comment aimed at Pooh Shiesty.

He asked in the comments of the post, “Didn’t his bother just die?”

6ix9ine previously used Pooh Shiesty lyrics to cruelly mock King Von’s untimely death. Whatever 6ix9ine’s goal in targeting different rappers in the game is, hopefully, is uncovered pretty soon.

What do you think of 6ix9ine’s comment? Let us know.
