NBA All-Star Dunk Contest Left Fans Feeling Disappointed

Last night was the NBA All-Star Game and as per usual, we also got to see the dunk contest. This year’s edition of the contest had three-main competitors, including the eventual winner Anfernee Simmons, Obi Toppin of the New York Knicks, and Cassius Stanley of the Indiana Pacers. For the most part, each competitor delivered some competent dunks that showed off what each player is truly capable of on the court.

There are some fans who came away from the event feeling as though Toppin was snubbed, while others felt the same way about Stanley. Needless to say, this contest wasn’t even close to the same quality as the one we saw last year, which saw Aaron Gordon delivering some godly dunks.

As a result of the mediocre dunk contest, many fans on Twitter were not happy, and they voiced their displeasure. Even Magic Johnson was vocal about the contest saying “TBH this wasn’t the most exciting Slam Dunk competition I’ve ever seen.” Considering Magic is someone who always looks for positives, this is a pretty big indictment on the proceedings.

It was hard to find players willing to do the dunk contest this season, especially with how the judges typically treat the players. Not to mention, COVID made it harder for players to want to travel. Needless to say, these factors led to some underwhelming events.

Gunplay Under Fire For “Racist” Video Insulting Asians

Rapper Gunplay is firing back after Worldstar posted a video of him responding to somebody on his Instagram Live, calling them all kinds of racial slurs and attempting to explain that he isn’t racist toward Asian people by saying that he watches Japanese porn.

The Florida rapper is under fire after a video came out of him verbally attacking an Asian fan on his live, calling them very offensive names. “You f*cking chink gook f*ck,” said Gunplay in the video. “You gook piece of sh*t. You f*cking Chinese gook. You f*cking Lo Mein, Lao Mein, corona-having ass motherf*cker. You’re the one that f*cked up this whole sh*t.”

He continued to spew more xenophobic hate in the video, which was posted by Worldstar. He responded on Instagram, somehow making matters even worse. “@worldstar STOP POSTING MY RACIST SETUP BULLSH*T JUST FOR THE VIEWS,” wrote Gunplay. “IM RACIST NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NOW CAN PLEASE POST THIS OR U DONT WANNA HEAR ANYTHING POSITIVE FROM GUNPLAY WHO HASNT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH MEDIS SINCE 2012 RESPECTFULLY POST THIS OR TAKE DAT SH*T DOWN AND TELL GEO TO CALL MY PHONE WE GOTTA TALK.”

In the video, Gunplay tries to explain that he’s not racist because he watches Japanese porn. “They got me on there hating on Asians, dawg, when I love Asians. I watch Japanese porn. So shut the f*ck up, first of all.”

He claims that the person he was talking back to was trolling him and calling him racial slurs, as well. “If you come on my live trying to fight, I’m gonna shoot you in the front of your forehead with my words,” he said. “I f*ck with the Asian community, my jeweler is Asian. I have no problem with Asians. I would love to f*ck an Asian b*tch. I’ve been to the motherf*cking massage place, I f*cked one before. They got some good p***y. I’m tryna get me some Asian p***y and y’all f*cking me up now.”

In recent weeks, there has been an increased amount of hate crimes against Asian-Americans, especially older individuals, prompting the hashtag #StopTheAsianHate to grow in popularity.

Watch the video of Gunplay explaining himself above. What do you think of this?

Westside Gunn’s “Buffalo Kids” Store Has Triumphant Grand Opening

Westside Gunn and his Griselda label, a movement that includes Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher, have been one of hip-hop’s most undeniable success stories. In only a few short years, the trio solidified themselves as some of the rap game’s most esteemed lyricists, with projects like Gunn’s Pray For ParisConway’s From King To A God, and The Butcher’s Burden Of Proof serving as undeniable evidence.

Still, in spite of his success in the music industry, Westside Gunn has always identified primarily as an artist, one whose vision extends across all mediums. One need only observe footage of his incredible home gallery, which is absolutely lined with collectibles and rare paintings. Now, Gunn has taken the next step in sharing his love of art to the world, having officially opened the doors to his brand new flagship store Buffalo Kidswhich launched this weekend at Buffalo’s Walden Galleria.

Unsurprisingly, Buffalo Kids enjoyed an absolutely monumental opening, with fans and supporters showing up in droves to check out the shop. Gunn himself revealed that it was, in fact, “the biggest opening(line) of All-time that they’ve ever seen in 32yrs.” He continues his reflection in an extensive Instagram recap, once again cementing his status as one of hip-hop’s most influential visionaries. “No jordan, no Yeezy, No Apple… NOTHING!!! This is what Culture looks like All races, ppl from All over the country, not 1 incident, just All [love].”

“This pic was just just the first part of the line it was this x4 minimum,” he continues. “I Thank U ALL who came and supported and even in line right now I promise to keep spreading as much ART as possible.” A few images from the big event showcases a brief glimpse at Buffalo Kids, which sells clothing designed by Westside Gunn; unsurprisingly, the online shop is completely sold out. Congratulations to Westside for this latest accomplishment!

LeBron James Flexes Yellow Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low

LeBron James is one of those players who can start trends depending on the shoes he wears. Every single game, fans are looking at his feet to determine which new kicks should be added to their collection. When it comes to the All-Star Game, this fact is magnified to infinity as it’s normally a time for all of the players around the league to show off and make their fans at least a tiny bit jealous.

On Sunday night, that is exactly what LeBron did as he came through with an unreleased pair of yellow Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Lows. This pair was actually gifted to LeBron by Virgil Abloh and as you can see, the yellow colorway actually matches the jersey that LeBron wore throughout the game. The pair has a similar layout to the blue MCA model, but this time, flashy yellow dresses the leather.

LeBron has been known to wear Off-White x Nike sneakers from time-to-time, so it should come as no surprise that Virgil would come through and bless the NBA superstar with his very own unique pair, that is mostly a one-of-a-kind.

Let us know if you want to see these shoes hit the market, in the comments below.

Kanye West’s “Donda” Album Updated By CyHi The Prynce

Kanye West had previously announced his latest studio album Donda: With Child, announcing the project’s release date, cover artwork, and even sharing the tracklist before none of that arrived. The album was seemingly shelved indefinitely but, thankfully, for fans that have been craving some new music from Kanye, it might still be coming.

Plenty of rumors have been circulating from Kanye’s camp regarding the superstar recording artist and his mindset as his marriage to Kim Kardashian crumbles. The couple is getting a divorce following six years of marriage and, understandably, it seems like music has not been a priority for Kanye during this time. However, that doesn’t mean that Donda: With Child will have the same fate as Turbo Grafx 16 did. According to CyHi The Prynce’s latest interview with VladTV, Kanye took a little bit of a winter hiatus and is starting to regroup.

Speaking about his work on Jesus Is King, CyHi went on to give some brief updates about Donda. “I think [Kanye] started working on it late last year. Once November, December, January comes around, he kind of takes a hiatus. A little vacation break, get with the family. We’re back working, that’s why I’m out here too.”

CyHi says that he gets paid handsomely for the ideas he provides other artists, including Kanye, and he also reveals that he has houses in every city that Kanye does. As for how Kanye is dealing with the divorce, CyHi says they didn’t speak much about that but he says the artist is “in good spirits” and that, with how much love the man has for his family, it has to hit him “some kind of way”.

Do you think we might still be getting Donda this year?

LeBron James Speaks On Playing With Steph Curry For The First Time

Last night was the NBA All-Star Game and while there were quite a few worries that the game wouldn’t actually happen due to issues caused by COVID-19, the game turned out to be entertaining, all while the dunk and three-point contests featured some great plays. Team LeBron ended up defeating Team Durant by a score of 170-150, with Damian Lillard scoring the final buzzer-beater to win the match.

Giannis Antetokounmpo came away with the MVP trophy from the event, and overall, it was a good night to be associated with LeBron. Perhaps LeBron’s favorite teammate from last night, however, was none other than Steph Curry who was his arch-nemesis for four-straight seasons. After the game, LeBron gave a shoutout to Curry, noting that it was great to finally play alongside him.

“Finally got to share the floor with @StephenCurry30! Well overdue and I loved every single second!!” LeBron wrote.

Steph reciprocated the remark and in the end, it turned out to be the ultimate fan service. While these two will probably never play together on an actual team, it was still nice to see them share the court in such a way.
