Air Jordan 3 “Georgetown” Release Date Unveiled

For the second year in the row, Nike’s Jordan Brand has unveiled a pair of college-themed Jordan 3s in honor of the March Madness tournament. Last year’s “UNC” Jordan 3 was originally aligned to the 2020 tournament that was subsequently canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For this year, the brand added a Hoyas-themed offering for the March Madness occasion. The Air Jordan 3 “Georgetown” arrived this Saturday, March 20th at select sneaker retailers.

The kicks arrive in a Midnight Navy, Cement Grey and White colorway, pointing to a classic “Black Cement” colorway often used by the brand. While the school served as inspiration for the design of the kicks, the school’s likeness in the kicks is not actually all that apparent. The university’s emblem or mascot makes no appearance on the show, not even on the tongue. Rather, the shoe features classical Jordan branding such as Jumpman embroideries and symbols at tongue and back.

The homage arrives by way of the “Midnight Navy” colorway, which matches the Georgetown signatures very closely. The grey cement and leath details further complete the look.

ZillaKami Releases Heavy Banger “CHAINS”

There are few artists who’ve bridged the gap between metal and rap as well as ZillaKami and SosMula. The pair have undoubtedly influenced the rap game, even if they aren’t household names. They continue to flood the streets with new music as much as they can, both as solo artists and as City Morgue, who dropped off their album TOXIC BOOGALOO last summer.

This week, ZillaKami returned with a hard-hitting, head-banging anthem titled, “CHAINS.” The metal influence seeps through the production with crashing drums and distorted guitars while ZillaKami’s scream-rap stylings detail everything affinity for firearms to the array of vehicles he’s acquired.

Check out the latest offering from ZillaKami below and sound off in the comment section with your feelings on his latest track.

DaBaby Shuts Down A Mall In Texas

DaBaby’s success in the past two years has been quite remarkable. Following the release of his breakthrough single “Suge” in 2019, he has since gone on to dominate the scene, earning top 10 hits after hits. Of course, with all of this success comes a fair amount of fame. The rapper boasts more than 17 million followers on his social media, and he has also been known to easily sell out clubs and venues. He’s also known to completely shut down malls while out on casual shopping.

The rapper shared a post with footage of the ordeal to his Instagram page Friday (March 19), tagging the location of the frenzy as Houston, Texas. He first shared a video of fans screaming and recording the rapper from outside of the store he was in, while attaching subsequent photos of himself waving to fans and hiding inside of a Burberry store as the commotion took place.

“Regular trip to the mall in Houston,” wrote the rapper in the caption of the post. Swipe through below for footage of the hysteria caused by the rapper.

“Dats Wild,” penned fellow rapper BRS Kash in the comment section, commending him for having the impact to even cause all the commotion.

Others had a more critical tone, but only in regards to the fact that not many people in the crowd were wearing masks despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Nonetheless, DaBaby’s star power is still quite sensational to witness.

Offset Hypes Migos “Culture III” Release With New Song Preview

The last 24 hours have found Migos frontman Quavo in the headlines after news of his split from Saweetie. The couple shared their back-and-forths on Twitter but it seems that their break-up now has their families chiming in on the matter. Thankfully for Quavo, he has brothers in the Migos who appear to have offered a diversion from the messy break-up.

If you’ve been waiting on new music from Migos, it appears that they’ll be sliding through with some brand new heat in the near future. Around Valentine’s Day, Quavo said that Culture III would arrive in a month and a half. By that timeline, we’re roughly two weeks away from the release of the album but we’ve yet to hear much about it. They were spotted shooting a music video earlier this month at a “bando.”

Offset slid through with a brand new snippet from Culture III off of the song that is reportedly titled, “Modern Day Stroll.” Though it seems a leak with Quavo’s verse hit the web last year, Offset shared a preview of the music video along with his verse. “Big body Urus/ Fast & The Furious/ Grippin’ my mack, watch the rear in my mirror/ Ice on my neck, on the lear, I’m superior/ 250 each year, what you say? I can’t hear you,” he raps on the verse. “Culture 3,” he captioned the post.

After nearly three years since their last album, and speculation that they’ve fallen off from the top, it seems that Quavo, Takeoff and Offset are striving to reclaim their position in the game. Check out the snippet below.

Lizzo Is Recruiting Plus-Sized Models And Dancers For Her Upcoming Amazon Series

Last summer, Lizzo signed a first-look television contract with Amazon Studios to draft and produce an upcoming series. The show that resulted finds the singer on the hunt for “dynamic full-figured women to join her world and perform with her on stage.” While it’s unknown when the show will arrive on the platform, she recently put out a PSA that called plus-sized models and dancers to apply for possible roles in the series.

“I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!” she exclaimed in an Instagram video that finds her on a boat surrounded by women. “Are you a full figured dancer or model? Have you felt underrepresented and under appreciated? THEN I’M LOOKIN FOR YOU! It’s time to find my dream team of beautifully talented big grrrls and @amazonstudios is helping ya grrrl on this journey!” She added, “We are casting NOW so head to BigGrrrls.com to apply. @AmazonPrimeVideo – it’s time to change the game!”

Shortly after Lizzo’s TV contract was announced, the head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke, spoke about her excitement for their collaboration with the Grammy-winning singer. “Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative, joyful artists in the industry, and it is such a pleasure to announce this new deal with her,” she said. “She has such a unique perspective and we’re so excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video customers are sure to love.”

Travis Scott Gifts Creative Director Maybach SUV For His Wedding

Corey Damon Black certainly does a lot for Travis Scott. Black is Travis’s creative director, meaning that he basically handles the design and look of all of his concerts, album art, merch, and more. Black has a big job, so it’s only right that Travis showed up to his wedding on Friday with a pretty massive gift: a Maybach SUV.

Black seemed completely shocked by the gift, laughing with Travis in the doorway and giving him a hug before going to check out the sweet new ride. His bride laughs, saying, “It’s like My Super Sweet 16!” Black strikes some poses in front of the car as all of his friends and guests gather around to whoop and cheer for him. Black seems incredibly excited by Travis’s gift, even taking it out for a joyride later and posting a video to his Instagram from the backseat, showing off the car’s lush interior.

The Maybach appears to be a GLS 600 SUV, which retails for anywhere from $160k to $200k depending on your desired specifications. Knowing Travis and how he likes to spoil others, however, it’s assumed that this car is probably on the higher end of the price scale. Congrats to Corey and his wife! Roddy Ricch, Lil Tjay & Tee Grizzley Light Up This Week’s “Fire Emoji” Playlist

The post-Grammys debate kicked off this week after the award show’s COVID-restricted event. Hip-hop did get its shine in many ways, though many felt snubbed by the end of the evening. The culture doesn’t necessarily need the validation of an institution that still manages to get it wrong every single year. Regardless of who won, it was back to business for many artists who slid through with brand new music following the award show extravaganza.

Even though he lost, Roddy Ricch delivered a show-stealing performance to close out the evening of “The Box” while debuting his new single, “Heartless.” A live version was immediately uploaded to streaming platforms and is getting us ready for whatever he has in store this year. “Heartless (Live From L.A.) was a necessary addition to this week’s Fire Emoji playlist.

It looks like Lil Tjay could be preparing to drop a new project in the future. This week, the rapper returned with his latest single, “Headshot” ft. Fivio Foreign and Polo G. The trifecta of drill artists deliver a blistering banger for the streets. We also included Tjay’s previous release, “Calling My Phone” with 6lack.

Lastly, we have the latest collaboration from Tee Grizzley and Lil Durk who previously collaborated together on their joint effort, Bloodas. This time, they team up for their new collaboration, “White Lows Off Designer.”

JT’s “City Girl Summer” Is Not Postponed Despite Being Cuffed By Lil Uzi Vert

City Girl JT is always spewing something on her verified Twitter account, which seems to be suspended more often than not. Luckily for us, however, she kept her verified status long enough to tell the world that “City girl summer is not postponed.” To further reiterate the message, she reposted the message on her Instagram story alongside some stickers that told fans summer was on the way.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, she went back to Twitter to reinforce the idea that she’d be having her own version of a “hot girl summer,” saying, “I’m on rockstar time this summer if you not ready to be wild don’t come round me.” It seems like many fans were waiting on JT’s go to kickstart their summer shenanigans, Tweeting some excited messages.

While the coronavirus pandemic halted most people’s usual summer escapades in 2020, it seems as though 2021 is going to be ringing in some new and exciting warm-weather traditions. Now that three vaccines have been federally-approved for emergency use and the US recently administered a record-breaking 3 million vaccines in one day, many people will be fully protected from the virus by the time summer rolls around. Be careful out there, City Girls!
