Diddy’s Two-Oscar Claim Might Be Cap

When Two Distant Strangers won the Oscar for Best Live-Action Short at this year’s Academy Awards, hip-hop mogul Diddy claimed on social media that it was his second Oscar victory as a producer. Michael Jackson Estate Cleared In Wade Robson’s Lawsuit: Report

Wade Robson‘s lawsuit against Michael Jackson’s estate has been tossed, a judge ruled in court. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Los Angeles judge has determined that Robson can not sue any of Michael Jackson’s businesses over allegations of sexual abuse. The judge said there was no relationship between the businesses and Wadeson that made them legally responsible for his safety against any abuse.  However, Robson’s attorney has stated that he’s already planning on filing for an appeal.

Robson initially filed a lawsuit against the estate in 2013 on claims that MJ sexually abused him for a decade. MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures were at the center of these allegations because Robson said that they enabled the singer. Robson re-filed a lawsuit against the companies after the release of Leaving Neverland

“There is no evidence supporting Plaintiff’s contention that Defendants exercised control over Jackson,” Judge Young wrote in his ruling. “The evidence further demonstrates that Defendants had no legal ability to control Jackson, because Jackson had complete and total ownership of the corporate defendants. Without control, there is no special relationship or duty that exists between Defendants and Plaintiff. In addition, there is no evidence of misfeasance by Defendants.”

This marks the second lawsuit against Jackson’s estate that was dismissed in court. Last year, Michael Jackson’s businesses were cleared in a lawsuit filed by James Safechuck, whose allegations were also detailed in Leaving Neverland.

The Team Behind ‘Framing Britney Spears’ Is Tackling The Janet Jackson Super Bowl Incident

When the documentary series Framing Britney Spears bowed on HBO back in February, it caused an avalanche of support to come the singer’s way. Long a target of condescending press coverage — not to mention still legally under the control of her domineering father — Spears found the public finally rallying to her side, hoping to correct years of unfair coverage. Now the team behind the doc look to be trying to do for Janet Jackson what they did for Britney.

According to US Weekly, Left/Right TV, who produced the Spears doc, are at work on a movie about the infamous halftime show at Super Bowl XXXVIII, in 2004. That’s the one where a performance by Jackson and Justin Timberlake resulted in a “wardrobe malfunction,” in which the latter ripped off part of her costume, exposing one of her breasts for half a second. The incident led to a massive fallout. The FCC tried, and failed, to fine CBS for over half a billion dollars, while some accused the two of staging it, with Jackson receiving more vitriol than Timberlake.

Neither Jackson nor Timberlake are involved in the movie, though the former is working on a documentary about her own career to coincide with the forthcoming 40th anniversary of her debut album, Janet Jackson. Timberlake, meanwhile, has come under fire over the last couple years, as the public has begun viewing his treatment of both Jackson and Spears, who he once dated, with a more critical eye. Indeed, after Framing Britney Spears debuted, he issued a formal apology to both parties.

“I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Because of my ignorance, I didn’t recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled down again.”

Soulja Boy Fires Back At People Calling Him An Idiot

You can call Soulja Boy a lot of things but he certainly won’t stand anyone undermining his intelligence. His business acumen and marketing skills set the standard for the internet era and he’ll certainly be the first to remind you of that.

Over the weekend, the rapper went on live stream where he started venting about some of the harsh names he’s been called on the Internet. The launch of his gaming console was a point of conversation but apparently, there are some who feel like he’s an “idiot” for its initial failure.

“It’s certain words you don’t say that’s disrespectful. Oh, he’s an idiotHe’s an idiot. He’s a — Woah, hey. Why are you insulting my intelligence? I’m. an idiot? Woah, that’s pure hatred,” he said. Soulja added that there really isn’t any sort of basis to make such a claim especially after the amount of success he’s had throughout his career.

“I’m worth $30M but I’m an idiot? Stop playin’ with me. I released a#1 hit single at the age of 16 and made over a million dollars but I’m an idiot?” He said before diving further into his list of accomplishments which include a few other Ms, an appearance on Forbes, and his Grammy nomination, among others. Peep Soulja Boy’s rant below.

DMX’s Family Get $1 Million Raised By Kanye West’s Yeezy

While the hip-hop community celebrated the life of DMX over the weekend, Kanye West reportedly helped raise 1 million dollars for the late rap icon’s family. Devin Cannady’s Status Updated After Gruesome Injury

Devin Cannady has been an inspirational story to many as his ascent into the NBA ranks was never guaranteed. His improbable rise to fame has been documented by fans and Magic supporters have grown to love what he brings to the team. Unfortunately, Cannady experienced a devastating injury last night as he landed awkwardly on his ankle, leading to a gruesome scene that featured blood pooling on the floor. His teammates showed immediate concern, including Mo Bamba who covered Cannady’s ankle with his jersey.

Now, the Magic have given an update on Cannady, confirming that the player won’t be able to return this season although he can make a full recovery. Based on the report, his ligaments and bone are all intact and now, he will have to wear a plaster splint until further notice.

Immediately following the injury, Cannady had to get surgery on his ankle in order to clean out any initial impact that was sustained. Considering the gruesome nature of the injury, it shouldn’t be surprising that surgery was immediately necessary.

You never want to see a player go down in this fashion although it was great to see his teammates support him in such a proud manner. We wish him nothing but the best throughout the recovery process.

Daniel Cormier Reveals What He Would Do To Jake Paul

Shortly after defeating Ben Askren in a first-round knockout just last weekend, Jake Paul felt like it was a good time to go after everyone in the MMA world. From Conor McGregor to Dana White to Daniel Cormier, Paul seemingly had smoke for everyone. In fact, Paul went on his brother’s podcast and said that he would be down to fight Cormier and that he is fairly certain he could win. Cormier didn’t take those words lightly and during UFC 261, Cormier went over to Paul and gave him a stern talking to.

During the latest episode of Cormier’s podcast with Ariel Helwani, the former UFC champion spoke about his showdown with Paul and how he won’t be taking the YouTuber’s disrespect. In fact, Cormier got violent went speaking about Paul as he explained exactly what he would do to Jake in the Octagon.

“I’m going to torture him. I’m going to hurt him. I don’t want to box him. I don’t want to fight in a limited skill set of rules. If you really want to fight me, fight me in a mixed martial arts competition,” Cormier said. “I’m going to rip his face apart. I’m going to hurt the kid. I’m will teach these kids not to continue to do this with people like me — athletes. Ariel, I will hurt this kid. … I’m gonna choke him, I’m gonna elbow him. I’m gonna hurt him.”

Based on these words, it’s fairly obvious that DC has very little respect for the youngest Paul brother. However, despite all of the tough talk, it’s highly unlikely these two ever face off in an MMA setting.
