MoneyBagg Yo’s First Week Sales Projections For “A Gangsta’s Pain” Get A Boost

Last week, MoneyBagg Yo’s fourth studio album, A Gangsta’s Pain, arrived on CMG and Interscope Records, featuring the previously heard smashes “Time Today” and the Future-assisted “Hard For The Next.” With such high anticipation for the Memphis artist’s new record and an eye-catching co-sign from Pharrell Williams, there were extremely high expectations for A Gangsta’s Pain, and early sales projections proved that the album was on pace to give MoneyBagg Yo his biggest debut to date.

As previously reported, the CMG artist’s fourth studio album was projected to move between 95k and 105k album-equivalent units. Now, it appears that MoneyBagg Yo‘s first-week sales projections for A Gangsta’s Pain, like his show rate, have increased.

According to DJ Akademiks, MoneyBagg Yo’s new album is still slated to debut atop the Billboard 200, and its initial sales projections have now increased to an even more impressive range of 110k to 120k album-equivalent units.

Seeing that several songs from A Gangsta’s Pain have caught the attention of fans, and even this site’s staff, it makes sense that the album would receive a sales boost as more and more listeners catch onto MoneyBagg Yo’s vulnerable new full-length effort.

Have you already listened to MoneyBagg Yo’s “A Gangsta’s Pain?” If so, do you think that the CMG artist’s latest full-length effort deserves its latest sales projections?

Krayzie Bone Declares There’s A New Strain In Town With “Surfing The Sky”

Krayzie Bone is a veteran when it comes to the bud-smoking, having paid homage to the herb time and again throughout his Bone Thugs and solo output. Now, he’s taking his appreciation to new heights, gearing up for the launch of his new strain “First Of The Month” with the new album Leaves Of Legend. In honor of the Bone Thugs veteran, it feels appropriate to dive into one of the project’s literal highlights, a song that finds the melodic Cleveland spitter ascending and “Surfing The Sky.”

Taking to the vibey production with practiced ease, it’s clear that not even the most potent bud can dull Krayzie’s sharpened flow. “Them other weed strands we ran them out, the legend ain’t playing around,” he raps, his cadence blending with the atmospheric production. “They better hear me cause clearly I’m saying it loud, I’m the new brand in town / n***a we smoke, you can’t be standin’ around, unless you’re sharing a pound.”

Check out the latest from Krayzie Bone, and should “Surfing The Sky” catch your attention, keep your eye out for his upcoming strain to drop this Friday.

Tory Lanez Is Against Getting The COVID-19 Vaccine

Tory Lanez is currently enjoying the success of his most recent album PLAYBOY, despite his initial claims that DSPs were actively censoring the release. Over the past months, Tory has reflected on his ability to create viral moments at a whim, and he also recently graced the cover of the digital cover of Flaunt Magazine‘s “The Dawn Chorus” issue.

Still, the Canadian rapper and singer still manages to find himself in the hot seat from time to time, as he was exposed for swerving a process server by denying his identity and also almost caught in a beef with Soulja Boy. Now, the DAYSTAR artist is now catching flack for a seemingly anti-vaxx take.

Without getting too deep into the reasons behind his statement, Tory Lanez let off a couple of tweets in which he publicly confirmed his stance against getting any of the COVID-19 vaccines available. In the first tweet, he admonishes fans to not get the vaccine simply because a celebrity influencer is encouraging them to do so, saying, “I don’t give a damn what these other celeb influencers are telling u to do.”

Tory Lanez then notes that he “personally would not get the vaccine,” but unlike the influencers in which he referenced at the start of his tweet, he refrains from telling his followers what they should do. Naturally, his tweet prompted immediate backlash from some users simply because of his infamous spat with Megan Thee Stallion last summer, but there was also plenty of debate as to whether Tory made a valid point. Check out a few of their responses below.

Following the heated responses to his original tweet, Tory Lanez touched on the topic once more by simply saying, “It last for 6 months . Lol.”

Do you think Tory Lanez has a point or should he be more responsible with publicly sharing his personal opinions about the COVID-19 vaccines?

Willow Smith is taking a different route with her next full-length release, teasing a crossover into pop-punk with her latest single “t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l.” The record features Travis Barker, who comes through on the drums.

“I am so GRATEFUL and EXCITED to start this new journey,” shared WILLOW about the new song. People are surprised about this new direction from the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, but many are letting the creative artist know that they’re into it. Artists like JID and Tierra Whack have already extended their co-signs too, commenting how much they love the track on her Instagram.

Keep your eyes peeled because it looks like WILLOW is entering a new zone. Are you a fan of this new song from her?

Quotable Lyrics:

No one’s brave enough to take the fall, right
But it’s all your fault, why you actin’ like it’s alright?

Method Man Announces Redman’s Role In “Power Book II” Season 2

50 Cent’s Power Book II is currently filming the second season of the show following an incredibly successful first season. The Power spin-off is among the several series spawning from the fictional television universe. Stars like Mary J. Method Man took to Instagram today where he revealed that his partner-in-crime Redman will be making a special appearance in the next season. Redman said that he’d be playing the role of Meth’s brother, Theo Rollins, who is incarcerated.

“I am on the set of Ghost. Power Book II season 2 and guess who I’m shooting a scene with today?  Y’all never guess,” said Meth as Redman entered the frame with a villainous laugh. “That’s right, y’all. Funk Doc is on the scene with your brother.”

The two rappers have previously starred alongside each other in How High and their short-lived TV series, Meth & Red but this would be the first time they’ve reunited on TV in more dramatic roles.

The announcement of Redman’s appearance in Power Book II season two arrives exactly one week after they shut down Verzuzfor a special 4/20 edition where they went through all of the classics.

Trey Songz Won’t Be Charged In Chief’s Game Arrest: Report

It’s been a few months filled with controversy for Trey Songz. Earlier this year, the singer found himself at the center of a possible criminal offense after a video revealed a heated altercation with an officer at an NFL game. The January incident resulted in the singer being arrested and his mugshot being released to the public.

Despite his rather nonchalant reaction to the matter, it seems like Songz caught a break this time around. TMZ reports that criminal charges will not be filed against the singer. The Prosecutor’s Office for Jackson County, MO cited insufficient evidence as to why they won’t be pursuing charges.

The incident began when Trey Songz apparently removed his mask at the event. His team said that he was simply removing the mask in order to eat, which was permitted at the game. The video that emerged seemingly showed Trey Songz throwing the first punch at the officer but his team said that the cop had been targeting him all evening.

Trey was arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest which are both misdemeanors. He was also charged for assaulting an officer — a low-level felony charge.

It looks like Trey Songz can rest easy knowing that the charges have been dropped. Hopefully, he returns with some new music for the summer now that this headache has been resolved.
