The Obamas Announce Death Of Family Dog, Bo

The Obamas’ beloved family dog, Bo, has died after a battle with cancer, the family announced on social media, Saturday.

“This afternoon was a difficult one for our family. We said goodbye to our best friend —our dog, Bo — after a battle with cancer,” former first lady Michelle Obama said in a statement posted on her Twitter page.

Bo was introduced to the world shortly after the Obamas moved into the White House in 2008 after former President Barack Obama’s first successful campaign. Bo was a male Portuguese Water Dog and a gift from Sen. Ted Kennedy and his wife, Victoria.

The former President reflected on the passing of the family dog on Twitter, Saturday:

He tolerated all the fuss that came with being in the White House, had a big bark but no bite, loved to jump in the pool in the summer, was unflappable with children, lived for scraps around the dinner table, and had great hair. He was exactly what we needed and more than we ever expected. We will miss him dearly.

The Obama family owns another Portuguese Water Dog, a female named Sunny. Michelle Obama first introduced her to the public in 2013.

Lakeith Stanfield Apologizes After Moderating Clubhouse Room That Turned Anti-Semitic

Lakeith Stanfield has apologized after appearing to moderate a Clubhouse discussion about Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, which took an extremely anti-Semitic turn.

“Some of the things that were said were worse than things that I’ve read or heard about neo-Nazis saying,” one user from the chat room told The Daily Beast.

The following day, Stanfield joined a room with a panel of Jewish moderators who spoke on the anti-Semitism from the prior event.

Stanfield released a statement apologizing for the incident on Instagram.

“Yesterday I entered an online chat room on Clubhouse about the teachings of [Louis Farrakhan. When the room’s participants noticed me, I was quickly made a moderator of this room,” Stanfield said in the post.

He continued:

At some point during the dialogue the discussion took a very negative turn when several users made abhorrent anti-Semitic statements and at that point, I should have either shut down the discussion or removed myself from it entirely. I condemn hate speech and discriminatory views of every kind. I unconditionally apologize for what went on in that chat room, and for allowing my presence there to give a platform to hate speech. I am not an anti-Semite nor do I condone any of the beliefs discussed in that chat room.

Pop Smoke Was Allegedly Killed By A 15-Year-Old During A Fight Over A Rolex Watch

This past February marked one year since the hip-hop world was shocked by the news of Pop Smoke’s shooting death. The Brooklyn-born rapper was killed during a home invasion at a Hollywood Hills mansion he was renting at the time. Following an investigation, four suspects were taken into custody last July and each charged with one count of murder and robbery in juvenile court as they were all under the age of 21 at the time of their arrest.

Now, according to the New York Daily News, we now know which of the suspects was responsible with shooting. During a preliminary hearing for 20-year-old Corey Walker, the only adult in the case, LAPD Det. Carlos Camacho testified that Pop Smoke was killed by a 15-year-old teen.

“He admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Baretta 9 [mm.],” Camacho said. The detective also revealed that the group of suspects broke into the rapper’s mansion in hopes of stealing his Cuban link chain but only managed to get away with a diamond-studded Rolex watch, which they later sold for $2,000.

Camacho added that during a recorded jail interview, the 15-year-old “admitted that they asked for the jewelry” before engaging in “a confrontation” with the rapper during the home invasion. “They got into a fight, and he shot him three times,” Camacho said. “He said he shot him on the back.” The detective also said Pop Smoke fought back and “rushed” the suspects who “pistol-whipped” him before shooting him in the chest.

Rah Swish Comes Through With “Woo It Again”

Brooklyn is still on the rise. The drill scene has gotten a bit oversaturated in the past year, especially with Pop Smoke’s passing. However, there’s still a slew of artists that are bringing their stories to the world. Take Rah Swish, for example. He’s been carving out his own lane in the drill scene to his own success and each track feels like he’s exploring beyond the regional sound that he entered with.

This week, the rapper returned with his latest offering, “Woo It Again.” The rapper takes on grungy, guitar-heavy production as he heavily reps the BK. “Feelin’ like I’m Jigga/ New Yankee fitted,” he raps on the track.

Peep the latest from Rah Swish below and keep your eyes peeled for his next album.

Dave Chappelle Explains How He Got The Rights To “Chappelle’s Show” Back

At one point in the earlier part of the millennium, Dave Chappelle was the most commercially successful and recognizable comedian in the country. Numerous circumstances pushed Chappelle to retreat from the limelight and the world of comedy. Luckily for fans of the well-renowned funnyman, he made a full return to the limelight by 2016, scoring a coveted $20 million-per-release special deal with Netflix, releasing a total of five thus far with the streaming giant.

On a recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the acclaimed comedian dished about what inspired his return to stand-up comedy as well as the situation behind his classic comedy sketch series Chappelle’s Show. At the tail end of 2020, Netflix removed the series from their platform after Chappelle reported he did not receive a dime of royalties and requested fan’s not to tune in.

“You’re the first guy to beat the system. You’re the first guy to get f*cked over by the system, go public with it and then get your money,” points out Rogan to Chappelle while on the podcast.

This then launched Chappelle into explaining exactly how he was able to regain the rights to his short-lived but wildly popular Comedy Central series Chappelle’s Show. He credited public opinion for helping him regain the rights rather than the court system while adding he was less bitter towards Viacom and Comedy Central as he matured.

“It wasn’t a court of law,” Chappelle said. “I don’t believe I would have got anything in a court of law. I think, in the court of public opinion, it was a good time for me to say my piece and through the years it wasn’t something I would harp on…It was something I was actually reluctant to talk about.”

Pooh Shiesty Fans Find Old Video Of Rapper Wearing Sister’s Wig

The new generation of rappers emerging probably don’t recall the days of dial-up internet. Many of them grew up with social media apps at their fingertips, meaning that their past isn’t too far to trace. Look at Jack Harlow, for example. He’s arguably one of the hottest new artists this year following the success of 2020s That’s What They All Say but many fans watched him get it from the ground up. Even old footage of Harlow rapping as a child emerged, only to become Kendrick Lamar’s first liked tweet in over a year.

It appears that Pooh Shiesty is the latest victim of throwback footage coming to light. However, the latest footage actually proves he hasn’t changed all that much. The rapper’s seen smoking a blunt while his sister asks that he passes her wig. “This how you hit a n***a block,” he says with the wig on his head and a blunt in his hand. The rapper keeps going until his mother demands that he stops joking around. “He look nice, though,” his mom says before he rips the wig off his head with a face of disgust, replying, “Nah see.”

In related news, Kodak Black and Pooh Shiesty finally squashed their beef in Miami and released their new collaboration, “Rip Stick” alongside Syko Bob.

Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” Release Date Confirmed

One of the best Jumpman models of all time is the Air Jordan 11. It is a shoe that first came out back in the mid-90s and it immediately became a fan favorite thanks to its classy design. Over the last few decades, we have seen a plethora of great colorways make their way to the market, including the “Cool Grey” offering which came out about 20 years ago. It’s a model that fans have been dying to have back and this year, Jumpman is set to turn that dream into a reality.

In the images below via @zsneakerheadz, you can see what the new “Cool Grey” model will look like. It pretty well looks exactly like the original as we have grey tones all the way throughout, while the upper is made with nubuck and the material around the entire silhouette, is patent leather. This is one of the cleanest Air Jordan 11 colorways that have ever been released and it’s great to see it making such a large comeback on the market.

As for the release date, it has been 100 percent confirmed that these will come out on December 11th of this year, in full family sizing. This should be great news for sneakerheads everywhere, and we can’t wait to get our hands on a pair.
