Nike LeBron 8 Low “Sprite” Set To Return This Year: Details

LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of all-time and throughout his historic career, he has given fans some pretty incredible sneakers. One of those shoes is the Nike LeBron 8 which is in the midst of celebrating its tenth anniversary. The shoe was immensely popular during LeBron’s time in Miami and we got a whole bunch of great colorways during that era. Among those models was the Nike LeBron 8 Low, which eventually came out in a “Sprite” offering.

Now, it is being reported by Sneaker Files that the LeBron 8 Low “Sprite” is going to be making a comeback this year, much like various other LeBron 8 offerings. In the images below, you can see that the shoe is mostly covered in blue although the hints of yellowish-green help deliver a look that is undeniable Sprite-inspired. It’s one of those colorways that will flash on the court and we imagine there will be a lot of people wearing these this summer.

A release date has not yet been announced although it is believed these could be dropping sometime in June. Let us know what you think of this new model, in the comments below.

A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato)

The “Sorry Not Sorry” artist explained that they made the announcement to encourage people with genderqueer identities to live their truth. “This has come after a lot of healing & self-reflective work. I’m still learning & coming into myself, & I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me. I’m doing this for those out there that haven’t been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones. Please keep living in your truths & know I am sending so much love your way.”

Demi has been receiving a lot of support from their fans after making the announcement, trending on Twitter as supporters send messages thanking them for revealing their true selves to the world.

It takes a lot of courage to make such an announcement. Congratulations to Demi Lovato on coming out as non-binary.

Bobby Shmurda Gets Experimental With The Flow

Following his recent release from a lengthy prison sentence, beloved New York rapper Bobby Shmurda has been steadily putting in work on his comeback project. Foregoing the expected tradition of releasing a “First Day Out” single, Shmurda has instead opted to take his time, having been spotted in the studio with Zaytoven, Mike WiLL Made-It, and more.

Since then, Shmurda has left breadcrumbs for fans to follow, taking to Instagram to showcase a few glimpses of his handiwork. Most recently, he took a moment to preview one of his most experimental tracks thus far, during which he employs a melodic flow vaguely reminiscent of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Over what sounds like a build-up, Shmurda locks in over a rapid-fire piano arpeggio. “There’s money to be made, and I’m just sayin’ ya’ll be playin’,” he spits, his cadence in unfamiliar territory. “Shawty trying to pop it in my face, I’m like quit playin’ ho / As-salaamu Alaikum ho, I don’t eat no bacon.” He cuts off the snippet before the beat can land, but it stands to reason that the drums aren’t far behind.

Unfortunately for Bobby, many listeners weren’t exactly feeling the rapper’s new style, flooding the comments with disapproval of the direction. Perhaps we’ll see a different response when the full version lands, as it can sometimes be difficult to see the full picture when presented with a fragment. We hope that the wait for Bobby’s comeback tape isn’t too much longer, as it will be interesting to see how Shmurda adapts to a game that has changed drastically since he was last active.

Check out Bobby’s new snippet below, and sound off with your thoughts and expectations in the comments below.

Dennis Schroder Vows To Never Wear Nike Kyrie’s Again

Just last month, Kyrie Irving and Dennis Schroder got into it in the middle of a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. In the end, both players were ejected from the game, and later on, Irving went on a rant against Schroder, condemning him for his use of the N-word. Irving was offended by it although it doesn’t seem like Schroder cared too much about how Kyrie felt about the entire ordeal.

Recently, Schroder made a video for his YouTube page in which he showed off his massive sneaker collection. At one point in the video, Schroder showed off one of his Nike Kyrie sneakers although he quickly noted that after what went down, he won’t be wearing Kyrie’s shoes ever again.

“Kyrie Irving. I have a lot of his shoe, behind the Sprinter, circa 30 to 40 pairs,” Shröder said. “Unfortunately, I can’t wear them no more, it’s not possible after what happened in the game.”

Kyrie has one of the most popular sneaker lines in the entire NBA and numerous players have been seen wearing them. However, it seems like Schroder will now have to sell all of his pairs since they don’t really hold much value to him anymore.

Snoop Dogg Smells ‘Wonderful,’ According To Nick Jonas

The Voice has a roster of famous coaches, but they up the star power further every now and then with some big guests. Because of that, Nick Jonas has had the opportunity to work with Snoop Dogg. He discussed that on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night, where he and Meyers got to talking about the famed weed enthusiast’s distinct smell.

Meyers asked how his experience working with Snoop was and Jonas responded, “He’s brilliant. He’s obviously a legend. He is, I think, best known for his rapping, obviously, but his production, his awareness of musicality… he’s like a record player. He knows every single song ever recorded, it seems.” He then added with emphasis, “And he smells great.”

Meyers laughed and responded, “He does have a very unique… a very upbeat odor.” Jonas chimed in, “Yeah, it’s wonderful.” Meyers then continued, “I don’t know if it’s crazy to say this: You can kind of tell when he’s in the room.” Jonas agreed, saying, “Yes, totally. I think the whole crew, myself, we were all very happy.”

Jonas also talked a bit about his recent injury, where he cracked a rib after falling off a bike.

Houston Crip FDA Claims Mo3 Killed 2 People Months Before He Died

The case surrounding the murder of Mo3 continues to develop and unfold as multiple suspects have been either indicted or charged with killing the Dallas, Texas rapper. Since his tragic passing last November, the Hip-Hop community has celebrated Mo3’s artistry and legacy, and earlier this spring, his posthumous album Shottaz 4 Eva debuted at the 36th spot on the Billboard 200. Even after the release of Shottaz 4 Eva, however, more details continue to surface about Mo3’s untimely death.

According to HipHopDX, a Houston crip called FDA has recently revealed that Mo3 allegedly killed two people in September 2020, a couple of months prior to his brutal murder on a Dallas freeway in November.

While being interviewed for the HighThoughtsTV YouTube channel, FDA discussed organized crime, OG Bobby Billions, Trapboy Freddy, and eventually, the months leading up to Mo3’s death. FDA alleges that Mo3 killed two people at V Live Houston after they started shooting at him first.

“He killed two people in Houston. Yeah, at VLive. They tried to kill him at VLive,” FDA says during the interview.

According to HipHopDX, the altercation at V Live Houston that FDA speaks of has been publicly documented, but contrary to FDA’s account, only two people were left injured without any subsequent reports of either of those people passing away.

Former NBA First-Round Pick Now 400 Pounds, Busted For Drugs

After being drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2017, Caleb Swanigan has led a difficult life. In the midst of the pandemic, many athletes who have faced instability throughout their careers have fallen on severe hardships and Swanigan is certainly no exception. At the end of 2020, he was pulled over by police who suspected he had drugs in the vehicle. That’s when he was caught with over three pounds of weed.

Per WANE-TV:

“Swanigan, 23, was pulled over around 2 a.m. on Dec. 23, 2020, on eastbound U.S. 30 by Columbia City Police. During the stop, police found 3.4 pounds of marijuana in Swanigan’s vehicle, as well as $3,415 in cash and some drug paraphernalia. Swanigan was arrested and booked into the Whitley County Jail. He was released on bond.”

While showing up to court recently, it was revealed that Swanigan now weighs over 400 pounds, which is 150 pounds above his playing weight. As for the aforementioned drug case, he pled guilty to his charges and now faces a 180-day suspended sentence.

After being taken by the Trail Blazers, Swanigan went on to play with the Sacramento Kings and eventually landed back with the Blazers in 2020. Unfortunately, he was never able to find consistency and hasn’t been in the league since. Hopefully, he is able to recover from this, and turn things around.

A$AP Rocky Confirms He’s Dating Rihanna: “The Love Of My Life”

After months of speculation, we finally have confirmation that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are indeed an item. The two superstar artists have been photographed together in Barbados, New York City, Los Angeles, and other cities as they seemingly enjoyed each other’s company. While neither of them has spoken up about their rumored relationship until today, A$AP Rocky finally confirmed that he’s with Rih, calling her the “love of [his] life” in a new interview with GQ.

“The love of my life. My lady,” he said when the interviewer mentioned Rihanna. He went on to explain that his relationship with her is solid. “[A relationship is] so much better when you got the One. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”

Rocky revealed that he bonded with Rihanna over fashion, music, and more after taking a long tour across the United States, making stops in Memphis and several other cities as they drove from New York to Los Angeles.

Elsewhere in the interview, Rocky spoke about his new music and how he was “emotionally discouraged” about the charting position from his last commercial project, explaining that he doesn’t think people got the album.

“It’s all about the evolution,” he said about his new album, which is tentatively titled All Smiles. “If I’m still doing the same shit with the same sounds and the same bars and the same visuals from years ago, what’s the point? You got that catalog. You can go revisit that. […] I just want to make some good music, that’s all. I want to feel great about doing it, and I want people to feel great about hearing it.” He called the album a “ghetto love tale” and said it was “way more mature” than some of his older work.

21 Savage Wants To Drop A New Album This Year

Since he first captured attention with his eerie breakout tape Savage Mode, produced in its entirety by Metro Boomin in a particularly spooky headspace. While some weren’t initially on board with Savage’s artistry, particularly his monotone delivery and laid-back flow, the Atlanta rapper quickly showcased undeniable growth as he continued to release quality projects.

Following the release of Without Warning, Savage kicked off a hot streak with projects like his acclaimed I Am > I Was, and most recently, the anticipated sequel to Savage Mode with Metro Boomin. Throughout his run, Savage has stepped up his bars considerably, to the point where he’s actually hanging toe-to-toe with J. Cole on their recent collaboration “My Life.” All things considered, he’s earned his place at the top of rap’s new generation, and as such, has become one of the most exciting artists to watch.

During a recent interview with Ebro Darden, 21 shared a bit of insight into what he’s got planned for this year, as many have already been clamoring for another studio album. “That’s what I’m planning on,” teases Savage, speaking on the possibility of a 2021 release. “That’s what I’m planning on. But I like quality work. So however long that takes, it’ll take but I’m dropping something, for sure.”

While not entirely confirmation, it certainly bodes well that 21 is aiming to release new music this year. Though he might be set on taking his time on the next LP, many have yet to give up hope on the rumored reunion project with Offset Without Warning 2, which has been in high demand ever since the first one dropped on Halloween of 2017. We’ll have to keep an eye out for more news on 21 Savage’s next musical endeavor — in the meantime, you can catch his recent work on the Saw: Spiral soundtrack EP right here.

Matt Barnes Takes The High Road After Kwame Brown Comes After Him

Kwame Brown has been coming after everyone who has ever criticized him and it has led to some pretty spicy Instagram Live sessions. Brown has gone after the likes of Stephen A. Smith and he has also had a ton of smoke for the “All The Smoke” podcast which recently did an episode with Gilbert Arenas. During that episode, Stephen Jackson and Arenas seemingly had some harsh words for Brown who was known to be a complete draft bust.

While co-host Matt Barnes didn’t have too much to say on the topic, he ended up caught in Brown’s crosshairs. This past week, Barnes went on ESPN’s The Jump where he spoke on the situation, noting that he understands where Brown is coming from although at the end of the day, he has no reason to be upset.

“I get where he’s coming from. He’s kind of been the butt of jokes coming into the league and not being able to live up to the No. 1 potential,” Barnes said. “I guess some stuff was said on the podcast… I didn’t say nothing or do nothing. If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at MJ for drafting you number one.”

For now, it seems like the Kwame Brown beefs are dead in the water, albeit, this has certainly provided some entertainment this week as the NBA heads towards the postseason.
