Report: James Harden Was ‘Briefly Detained’ While Lil Baby Was Arrested For Marijuana Possession In Paris

James Harden was not arrested during a run-in with police officers in Paris on Thursday, according to ESPN. Harden is in Paris for fashion week, and according to videos that have emerged from the event, one person with whom he’s been traveling, Lil Baby, was among those taken in by the authorities for marijuana possession.

One video showed Harden in communication with the authorities, expressing that he did not understand something that was happening.

Additional footage showed Lil Baby inside of a police vehicle with Harden nearby.

ESPN managed to get some more details, and while Harden was “briefly detained,” he was never taken into custody. The report indicates that Harden was not with the group when 20 grams of marijuana was found in their car, but when it was evident that something was going down between Lil Baby’s group and the authorities, “Harden was apparently nearby and tried to intervene and was briefly detained, but was let go.”

TMZ went on to report that Harden “did not break any laws and was allowed to go about his day.” There is no word on who else was arrested alongside Lil Baby, but reports say that two others were taken in alongside of him.

Goon Des Garcons Swaggers Through A Cocky ‘UPROXX Sessions’ Performance Of ‘Clanks’

Sometimes, you can tell an artist is good just from their name alone. That’s the impression I got upon seeing the title “Goon Des Garcons,” and I am proud to inform you that he lives right up to that expectation with his UPROXX Sessions performance of “Clanks.”

The cleverly named rapper is a recent Los Angeles transplant by way of small-town Arkansas, signed to Def Jam, and tapped in with underground fan favorites like Fredo Bang, Landstrip Chip, and Reese Laflare. Musically, he takes plenty of inspiration from Kanye adherents like Kid Cudi and Travis Scott, but with the rebellious sonic proclivities of wavemakers like Tyler The Creator and the artists influenced by him such as Kevin Abstract and AG Club. It’s energetic and confident, yet down-to-earth and just quirky enough to stand apart from the pack. Stay tuned, because something tells me you’ll be seeing this name a lot more often very soon.

Watch Goon Des Garcons’ cocky performance of “Clanks” for UPROXX Sessions above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

Ed Sheeran Doesn’t Think 50 Cent Knew Who He Was Even After They Collaborated

During a guest spot on the latest episode of “Hot Ones,” a very red-faced Ed Sheeran recounted a funny story about his collaboration with Eminem and 50 Cent on 2019’s “Remember The Name.” Apparently — and Sheeran says the rapper may refute this if asked — Sheeran was pretty sure that 50 Cent didn’t know who Sheeran was, even after they had worked together.

“If you were to go into my school and go, at the height of Shady Records, at the height of Aftermath [Entertainment], and go, ‘Which one of these kids is gonna do a song with Eminem and 50 Cent?’ No one would’ve guessed me,” joked Sheeran between bites of wings doused in hot sauce. “50 will probably disagree with this,” he continued, referencing the time they were both present at Wembley Stadium in the UK, “[but] I don’t think 50 had a f*cking clue who I was. I think afterwards he was like, ‘Oh, the ‘Shape Of You’ guy!’”

“Remember The Name” was part of the singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album, No.6 Collaborations Project, which also featured collaborations with Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Bruno Mars, Young Thug, and more. At the time of release, Sheeran joked with BBC Radio One about the song’s rapped line “I was born a misfit / Grew up 10 miles from the town of Ipswich” and how it was unlikely that Eminem “would know where Ipswitch is.”

Watch Sheeran’s “Hot Ones” interview in full above, and listen to him tell the 50 Cent story at 11:55 into the video.

Dustin Poirier Gives His Take On Recent MMA-Boxing Crossovers

Dustin Poirier is gearing up for his trilogy fight against Conor McGregor on Saturday, and fans are excited to see who will come out on top. After Poirier lost the first fight, he was able to win the second very convincingly, and now, McGregor will be looking to exact revenge. If you are a UFC fan, you already know this is going to be a fantastic matchup, and hopefully, both fighters will deliver.

Leading up to the fight, Poirier sat down for an interview with Vibe, where he spoke about a whole host of subjects. At one point, Poirier was asked about all of the UFC fighters going into boxing and whether or not it’s good for the sport. Poirier believes it is, indeed, a good thing and that at some point, he would love to have a go at boxing.

“I mean, these fights that they’ve been making have been getting crazy traction,” Poirier said. “I’m sure that the clicks on the internet and the views on the videos are through the roof, so it’s good to see that mixed martial arts is being more spoken about. We’re on ESPN now, we’re crossing over and doing boxing fights, it’s just the way that combat sports is heading. With the entertainment business nowadays and how everybody’s got a device to use at their fingertips and the apps to watch the fights. It’s good, man. I love seeing it, it’s like a snowball event. Every year it’s gonna keep getting bigger and bigger and that’s not just a win for mixed martial arts, but it’s a win for combat sports in general.”

In just a few weeks, we will see Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul get into the ring, and it should be an interesting battle. As for Poirier, perhaps he can find himself a boxing opponent when the time is right. If he beats McGregor on Saturday, then he will certainly prove to be a massive draw.

Busta Rhymes & Metro Boomin Hit The Studio

Metro Boomin and Busta Rhymes have been busy of late. In the case of the Atlanta producer, Metro Boomin has been cooking up new music with Freddie Gibbs and A$AP Rocky, for the albums SSS and All $miles respectively. He also teased some new music with J.I.D, and who can forget his sessions with Future, presumably for Monster 2.

As for Bus-a-Bus, it was recently confirmed that the Flipmode emcee has an upcoming collaboration with DaBaby, which will presumably drop sooner than later. He also implied that he’d be releasing new music on his Instagram page, though as rap fans know, “Stay Tuned” can have an abundance of different meanings.

Now, however, it would appear that Metro and Busta have joined forces for a recent studio session, bolstering the theory that fans will be receiving an ELE 2 follow-up at some point in the near future. HipHopDX’s Twitter page shared a few images from the studio session, during which both parties appear to be focused in the control room. Perhaps it’s safe to assume that they’re listening to something they recently cooked up — only time will tell.

Danny Green Wants 76ers Fans To Stop Booing The Team

If there is one word you could use to describe sports fans in Philadelphia, it would have to be “passionate.” While these fans are loyal, they can get extremely upset when things aren’t going their way, and this is definitely something we saw during the second round as the Sixers lost to the Atlanta Hawks. Ben Simmons was booed by the 76ers faithful at times, and it led to continuous shooting woes as you could tell that his confidence had been completely shaken.

During a recent appearance on the “Takeoff” podcast, 76ers role player Danny Green was asked about the fans in Philly and whether or not they need to tone down the boos. He was also asked about whether or not the boos can have a problematic impact on the players.

“For sure. It has an effect on everybody, and I think that’s something that needs to change in the city,” Green said. “I love our fans, but when things aren’t going well, they can’t turn on you. That’s the one thing I would disagree with or dislike. Some guys use it as motivation, some guys have a chip on their shoulder, but I think that needs to change. They need to be riding with us, regardless of how things are going.”

As a streaky shooter, Green knows just how important it is to have confidence, and if you don’t have that, then things can get ugly quickly. Of course, it doesn’t help when your own fans are against you, as it damages your confidence even further.
