A Snoop Dogg Lookalike Has Captured People’s Hearts After Posing With A Fan’s Oblivious Mom

A fan’s photo of his mom posing with a Snoop Dogg lookalike has gone viral on Twitter as users crack wise about the man’s resemblance to the rapper and the mom’s apparent obliviousness. @matchu_chutrain posted the photo with a caption that read, “I’ve been in LA for a year and haven’t seen a single celebrity. My mom comes for a weekend and meets Snoop Dogg.” Unfortunately, it appears he’s neglected to let her know that the person she thinks is Snoop is actually not the rapper — but he looks close enough to prompt a double-take. To be fair, Snoop is a mom-approved favorite.

As fans shared the photo (currently upwards of 215,000 likes and only 500 retweets away from 10,000), the reactions built on each other as people found parallels between the Snoop lookalike situation and the plot of Marvel’s Disney Plus series Loki, joking that the man in the photo must be a “variant” or alternate version of the rapper. The original poster joked that he wanted everyone to stop pointing out that it wasn’t the rapper because “My mom’s gonna be heartbroken the next time she logs onto Twitter.” One person even posted the lookalike posing with Snoop, offering up a photo that might make your eyes cross.

Check out more responses below. Meanwhile, you can catch the real Snoop Dogg — and maybe the imposter too? — at his Once Upon A Time In LA Festival this autumn.

BIA’s Claims On Nicki Minaj’s Livestream Prompt Burna Boy To Issue A Correction

Burna Boy is calling “cap” on BIA’s claims from her recent appearance on Nicki Minaj’s live stream to debut the “Whole Lotta Money” remix. During the live stream, Nicki asked BIA about Nigerian hitmakers Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, only for BIA to admit that she doesn’t know what any of them look like. Over the weekend, Burna addressed the comment, tweeting that BIA must have been exaggerating because she’s been in his DMs since 2018.

“That babe wey nor know our face don dey my dms since 2018,” he wrote. However, BIA later responded to a fan’s tweet about the comments that she does know what Wizkid looks like, noting that she doesn’t need to know what any of the three Nigerian stars look like to know and appreciate their music.

Then, when the conversation was picked up by Instagram gossip pages, BIA was sure to reply to at least one, explaining that the “DM” Burna referred to was her tagging his song. “Burna, love your music,” she wrote. “Don’t be hurt I said Ion know what U look like. Your girl is beautiful anyway you shouldn’t care. Now, don’t make it seem like I slid on U in 2018 bc I tagged your song.”

She signed off by once again plugging her Nicki Minaj collaboration: “Now back to what’s important. Stream #WholeLottaMoneyRemix.”

Vince Staples & Lil Nas X Have A Hilarious Interaction On Twitter

Vince Staples released his self-titled album last week, which has received rave reviews from hip-hop fans over the weekend. “congrats on the new album it’s me montero from community college,” wrote Lil Nas X in response to one of Vince’s latest tweets.

“Wassup bro when you tryna hoop you wasting yo height,” joked Vince in his response. Lil Nas X stands 6’1″ and Vince is 5’8″, according to Google.

i only play with one type of balls bro,” responded LNX in hilarious fashion.

“N***a it’s 8 AM,” struck back Vince.

“this is so embarrassing my grandma had my phone,” explained Lil Nas.

This wasn’t the kind of interaction that many of us were expecting between Lil Nas X and Vince Staples. The filterless LNX walked himself into the perfect opportunity to make an uncomfortable joke with the celebrated rapper, and Vince seemingly found it pretty funny, despite dismissing the comment and telling Lil Nas to chill since it was still so early in the morning.

Royce Da 5’9″ Believes West Coast Rappers Make The Best Albums

Like his former Slaughterhouse groupmate KXNG Crooked, Royce Da 5’9″ has begun using his social media platforms to spark and encourage hip-hop discourse. Over the weekend, the Detroit legend took a moment to make an interesting observation, and while it is certainly opinion-based, he made sure to provide no shortage of compelling evidence.

“West Coast artists make the best albums,” he tweets, laying out his thesis statement. “I just realized this. KDot Game YG NIP Roddy Quik Dre Snoop Cube Anderson School Boy Q .. Damn.” An impressive roster of talent, the likes of which have delivered good kid m.A.A.d city, To Pimp A Butterfly, The Documentary, My Krazy Life, Victory Lap, Under Tha Influence, 2001, Doggystyle, Malibu, Oxymoron, and many more.

He continued to shout out candidates in a few follow-up messages, adding Warren G and the Dogg Pound Gangsta Clique for good measure. When one fan noted that Suge Knight, Top Dawg, and Wack 100 had an influence on the west coast album, Royce acknowledged their impact. “Important men in our culture who are underappreciated due to their reputations preceding them,” he adds.

In an age where the album as an art form is starting to feel endangered, it’s refreshing to see Royce appreciating what the west has brought to the table. Of course, his definitive statement of “best” sparked many east coast fans to rise up with counterpoints, proof that regional ties still hold strong to this day. Check out Nickel’s celebration of west coast album-making below, and share your own thoughts on the topic in the comment section.

Washington Football Team Gives An Update On Name-Change Process

Over the last year or so, the Washington Football Team has been going through a massive rebrand. The team ditched its previous name as many felt like it was insensitive, and now, they go by the Washington Football Team. As a result of this change, the team has been looking for a new nickname that they can use for years to come. There have been various suggestions although as it stands, the team has yet to make a decision.

Recently, team president Jason Wright addressed the team’s fans in a letter, where he gave an update on the search for a new name. As Wright explains, the team wanted to use the name “Warriors,” however, after consulting with the Native American community, they decided to redirect their efforts towards another nickname.

“Feedback from across communities we engaged clearly revealed deep-seated discomfort around Warriors, with the clear acknowledgment that it too closely aligns with Native American themes,” Wright wrote. “Such an embrace of potentially Native-adjacent iconography and imagery would not represent a clear departure that many communities have so forcefully advocated for us to embrace, and that frankly, we set out to do when we started this process a year ago.”

Wright then went on to say the team’s name will help reflect the team’s community in the best way possible and that they want to approach this name change with sensitivity. For now, the search is ongoing although this update shows that the team isn’t content with being called the Washington Football Team, forever.

Dustin Poirier Comments On Conor McGregor’s Brutal Injury

Dustin Poirier made quick work of Conor McGregor on Saturday night as the Irish UFC star snapped his ankle and was unable to continue. In the aftermath of the fight, most of the discourse has been surrounding McGregor and what’s next for his storied career. Meanwhile, Poirier is about to get a shot at the title, and it is certainly well deserved. Poirier is performing at the highest level of his career, and most UFC fans agree that he deserves this newfound shot at glory.

Recently, Poirier was approached by TMZ, who asked the fighter about the prospect of fighting McGregor again, as some believe the fight wasn’t legitimate. Poirier noted that he would be down for such a fight and that for now, he is wishing McGregor a solid recovery, even if it isn’t going to be an easy one.

“Anything is possible. I just have to get with my family, and see what’s next,” Poirier said. “You never wanna see someone injured like that. The recovery is gonna be hard and losing.” Dana White has also expressed interest in the fourth fight between Conor and Poirier, however, Poirier will need his shot at the title before that comes to fruition.

As Conor explained on Twitter, he will be out of commission for a while as he just received surgery on his leg. He is going to be on crutches for six weeks, and beyond that, his recovery timeline will all depend on the natural healing process.
