Ben Simmons Ripped To Shreds On Social Media After Game 7 Loss

Throughout Ben Simmons’ career, there have been people who have touted him as “LeBron James without a jump shot.” Pundits like Stephen A. Smith truly believe that once Simmons develops a jump shot, he will become one of the best players in the league. Unfortunately, none of these prophecies have come to fruition, and quite frankly, Simmons has steadily gotten worse over the last couple of years.

Perhaps the best example of this regression was last night as the Sixers lost Game 7 to the Atlanta Hawks. Simmons had five points in the entire game and at one point, he refused to execute on a wide-open dunk, and instead, passed the ball off to a teammate who was covered. It was a tragic offensive display and his refusal to even attempt shots ultimately cost the Sixers their season.

Immediately after the game, Simmons was the subject of some brutal slander on Twitter, and now, there are some Sixers fans who want him gone. Even Doc Rivers isn’t convinced that Simmons can be the starting point guard on this team, which is a serious indictment of his talents. This could prove to be a turbulent offseason for Simmons and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him on another team in short order.

2KBABY Remixes Bruno Mars’ “Lazy Song”

It’s beginning to look like a new hip-hop trend is gathering steam, in which beloved pop songs are given a bit of refurbishing. We’ve previously seen it with the infamous “Who I Smoke,” which added a blood-spattered coat of paint to Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles.” Now, 2KBABY has come through with a new rendition of Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song,” offering up a laid-back and melodic drop for his fans.

“Nowadays n***as clique up with any gang,” he sings, borrowing Bruno’s classic melody. “I just want to see them all dead / I’m too high can’t pick up my phone, this new opp pack smoke way too strong.” As tends to be the case on tracks like this, the juxtaposition is really the driving factor; who doesn’t appreciate a bit of casual violence over an uplifting and innocent backdrop? One has to wonder if we’re looking at the new movement taking shape before our very eyes.

Check out 2KBABY’s “Lazy Song Remix” right here.

Ace Hood & His Baby Mama Call Each Other Out On Father’s Day

Father’s Day is supposed to be one of the best days of the year for all of the dads of the world but for rapper Ace Hood, it was just a miserable Sunday. The Florida-based entertainer made claims against the mother of his children in a video on Father’s Day, saying that he wasn’t allowed to see his kids, suspecting that their mother’s decision was made because of money.

“The reason I do not have my children today is because the mother of my children wants her story to be right,” said Ace Hood in a video. “Which means her story in her mind is that I am not a good father, my children don’t want to spend time with me… I don’t support the kids. Also, I’m never there for the children, so that’s her story in her mind and she wants to tear me down as a person.”

The “Bugatti” rapper said that he believes money lies at the core of her decision to shut him out of his kids’ lives, but she rebutted and claimed that that’s not the case.

“That man owe me $95,000 and he up here talking about, ‘It’s about money’? Antoine, I been had a house, both of my cars is paid,” said Shanice in her response. She also said that Ace and his wife were going this route for a check from Love & Hip-Hop, suggesting that they’re fabricating the drama for ratings.

Kevin Huerter Becomes Unlikely Hero For The Atlanta Hawks

Throughout the NBA playoffs, there are always some unlikely heroes during big moments. Some players embrace the idea of playing their best when the pressure is the biggest, and as it turns out, Kevin Huerter of the Atlanta Hawks is one of those guys. While many expected Trae Young to shine during Game 7 against the Sixers last night, it was actually Huerter who carried the Hawks thanks to a 27-point performance that also included seven rebounds.

With Young shooting poorly, the Hawks needed other guys to step up and that’s when Huerter played one of the best Game 7’s from an auxiliary player we’ve seen in quite some time. Almost every shot went in and his teammates were truly impressed by everything they were witnessing.

Thanks to Huerter’s massive performance, the Hawks are going to the Eastern Conference Finals where they will now play the Milwaukee Bucks who just came off of a win against the Nets. Even if the Hawks lose this series, Huerter’s performance will still be remembered for years, and there is no doubt that the fans in Atlanta love him right now.

In the tweets below, you can see some of the reactions to Huerter and how he took the league by storm last night. Let us know how you think the Hawks will do against Milwaukee, in the comments below.

Doc Rivers Admits He Doesn’t Know If Ben Simmons Is A Championship Player

Philidelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers admitted that he’s unsure if Ben Simmons can play point guard at the level required to compete for a championship, following the team’s Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Sunday. Although the team was able to hold Trae Young to an uncharacteristically inefficient performance, the 76ers lost 103-96.

“Can Ben Simmons be the point guard of a championship team?” a reporter asked Rivers after the game.

“I don’t know the answer to that,” Rivers responded candidly.

When speaking about Simmons later in the press conference, he added: “I still believe in him.”

Simmons finished with just five points despite being one of the highest-paid players in the league. He failed to surpass eight points in each of the 76ers’ last three games.

“We lost, it sucks, I am who I am, it is what it is, it’s not easy to win…first thing I’m going to do is clear my mind and get my mental right,” Simmons said after the loss.

Despite his poor scoring performance, Simmons recorded 13 assists in the game.

The Hawks will take on the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday.
