Bobby Shmurda Gave Away Free Haircuts And Meals For Father’s Day

Bobby Shmurda is putting his second chance to good use since getting out of prison, finding meaningful ways of giving back to the community since his release earlier this year. Over the weekend, the Brooklyn rapper held a “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch” for 200 families, treating patrons of the Win Shelter in Brooklyn to a meal including Bobby’s own Jamaican favorites: curried chickpeas, jerk salmon, and stewed chicken. In addition, Bobby employed a trio of barbers to give free haircuts to the attendees.

A press release about the event also notes that Bobby gave out toys to the kids, while dads in attendance were given new clothes and books. Among the gifts were action figures, board games, costumes, gaming consoles, jump ropes, sports equipment, and more. When the event wrapped up, the leftovers were delivered to CAMBA Men’s Shelter in Brooklyn to ensure nothing went to waste.

In addition to his acts of community service, which included a toy drive over last year’s holiday season by way of fellow recently released GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel, Bobby’s been working on making his comeback to music. He reportedly headed straight to the studio upon his release and has songs with Lil Uzi Vert and Quavo, and he’s billed to perform at both Rolling Loud New York and Made In America in Philadelphia this summer.

Lil Nas X Knew His ‘Montero’ Video Was ‘Definitely Going To Hit Fox News,’ Even In The Planning Stages

Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” video is an undeniable hit; It currently has over 250 million views on YouTube. Of course, it didn’t arrive without controversy, as more conservative-minded folks didn’t care for some elements on the clip (like Lil Nas X giving Satan a lap dance, for example). The rapper was a guest on the Desus & Mero Showtime series over the weekend, and while on the show, he discussed the backlash to the video.

When asked about the clip, Lil Nas X responded, “I really just wanted to corrupt the youth.” He then quickly broke his faux-serious tone by laughing and insisting he was joking. He went on to note that while he expected to draw the attention of the pundits over at Fox News, he didn’t think the outrage over the video would be as extreme as it was: “Even when I was planning the video, I was like, ‘Oh, this is definitely going to hit Fox News.’ I definitely didn’t expect the outrage as much as it was at all, especially, like, governors tweeting me. Like, you’re a governor. You don’t have anything better to do?”

He also spoke about his “Satan shoes,” saying that he didn’t intend for them to be a big deal: “You know, complete 100-percent honesty: Those sneakers were just supposed to be a thing for fans. I didn’t think it was going to spread outside of my fan base. I was wrong.”

Suns And Clippers Fans Get Into Massive Brawl After Game 1

Yesterday afternoon, the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers played Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. In the end, Devin Booker had one of the best games of his career, and it helped the Suns get the first win of the series. Without Chris Paul in the lineup, Booker had to have an all-time great game and that is exactly what he was able to pull off, much to the chagrin of the Clippers.

After the game, tensions were running high in the hallways to the arena, and it led to a large brawl between Clippers and Suns fans. In the YouTube clip below, two Clippers fans are seen arguing with Suns fans in a scene that gets more and more heated as the exchange goes on. Eventually, the Clippers fan throws a punch which leads to a massive scrum, with bodies flying all over the place.

Suns fans have been engaging in fights all playoffs long, and it all got started with the “Suns in 4” guy who ended up getting some gear from Devin Booker. Needless to say, Suns fans get busy and they aren’t afraid to go after opposing fans when the situation calls for it. Not to mention, Suns fans have every reason to be excited about their team as they have won eight games in a row and seem like the favorites to win it all.

With Game 2 going down tomorrow, there is no doubt we are in for yet another close game between these two teams. If Chris Paul is able to return, then it could get scary for the Clippers.

Ski Mask The Slump God Unveils “Sin City” Mixtape Trailer

Ski Mask The Slump God may have slowed his pace since the release of Stokeley in November of 2018, but the Floridian rapper hasn’t been entirely inactive. It would appear that he’s officially ready to lift the curtain on his next endeavor, Sin City, on which he has presumably been working.

Drawing inspiration from Frank Miller’s classic Sin City series, which went on to receive a cinematic adaptation by Robert Rodriguez in 2005, Ski Mask confirmed that his upcoming tape will be dropping on June 25th. Though he doesn’t offer up in the way of detail, he does set a striking cinematic tone by way of a new trailer, one that draws heavy inspiration from the project’s namesake.

In the clip, a bloodied-up Ski Mask visits a contact seeking artillery, donning a fresh grill, and calling up DJ Scheme to put in a bit of work. As the trailer concludes, a simmering instrumental kicks in, over which it’s all too easy to picture Ski going to town with his signature animated flow. It should be interesting to see how Sin City plays out, as it has certainly been a minute since we’ve heard a full-length project from The Slump God. In any case, expect plenty of references to film — including Sin City, presumably — as well as animé and video games.

With Ski Mask’s Sin City set to drop this Friday, June 25th, check out the trailer below and sound off if you’re excited for the project to land in full.

Quavo Turns Up With Hawks After Game 7 Win

After edging out the Philadelphia 76ers in a thrilling Game 7 last night, the Atlanta Hawks got some straightenin’ done in the locker room with none other than Quavo, who has been anxiously watching the series play out from the sidelines.

The Migos rapper has been cheering on his hometown Hawks as they fought to eliminate the 76ers in their second-round matchup. After some fierce competition, Trae Young and the group ended up taking home the victory on Sunday night, inviting Quavo back to the locker room to celebrate. Clint Capela shared a video to his Instagram Stories of the rapper turning up with the entire team, singing the Migos’ new hit “Straightenin” with the winners. “We straight!!!” wrote Capela on the post, getting ready to face off against the Bucks in their next matchup.

Not many people are wearing masks in the locker room, which has some fans worried about some players possibly entering the NBA’s health and safety guidelines before the next round. Only time will tell if the virus was lurking in the locker room last night.

The Migos were in competition for another #1 album this week with their latest release Culture III. They went all-out in a last-ditch effort to secure the top spot on the charts, but ultimately, they ended up debuting at #2 behind Polo G’s new album Hall Of Fame

Air Jordan 13 “Del Sol” Coming Next Year: First Look

One of the more underrated Air Jordan models of all time is the Air Jordan 13. This is a sneaker that debuted all the way back in 1998 and it was worn by Michael Jordan in his last season with the Bulls. By the end of that season, Jordan had already started wearing the Air Jordan 14, however, there is no doubt that the 13 left a big impression on fans, especially when you consider how it was represented in pop culture. Over the years, it has received various new colorways and in 2022, Jumpman has some big plans for the silhouette.

According to @zsneakerheadz on Instagram, the next big Air Jordan 13 colorway to make its way to the market will be the “Del Sol” offering. “Del Sol” is an aesthetic that we have seen quite a bit over the years and it even made it onto a Nike Kobe 6. As you can see in the photoshop rendering below, this sneaker has a white leather upper all while yellow nubuck is placed on the mudguard and the back heel.

This is a model that is slated to drop in January of 2022 although an exact release date has yet to be determined. Stay tuned to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates concerning this potential drop. In the meantime, let us know what you think, in the comments below.

DMX’s Funeral Costs Reportedly Covered By Def Jam

Def Jam Records has seen many legendary artists lining their historic roster throughout the years, but when it comes to overall discographies, it’s hard to find a competitor packing more punch than DMX.

In 1998, X left an undeniable impression on the rap game by delivering back-to-back number one albums with It’s Dark & Hell Is Hot and Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood. A few years later, he was among the biggest superstars in the industry, delivering number one albums, starring in action blockbusters, and holding it down with the Ruff Ryders movement. All the while, X remained an integral piece of the Def Jam roster, cementing himself as one of their most acclaimed and beloved artists.

It’s not entirely surprising to see that X’s longtime label, on which his recent Exodus album was released, came through for the late rapper’s family following his death in April. According to the findings of TMZ, Def Jam covered the entirety of DMX’s funeral bill, which came out to a reported total of $35,228.13.

The total expenses as billed to X’s family include the transportation of his coffin, embalming, the red casket, the hearse, and flowers. The documents reveal that the distinctive casket cost a total of $7,450.

Following X’s death on April 9th, Def Jam released a touching statement, describing him as “a brilliant artist and an inspiration to millions around the world.” An accurate assessment of a man who continues to live through his music to this day. Rest in peace to DMX, hip-hop’s honest writer.

Kyle Kuzma Catches Second-Hand Slander From NBA Twitter

Kyle Kuzma is one of those players who will immediately trend whenever they have a bad game. NBA fans love to deliver some Kuzma slander when the moment calls for it, and the same can be said for Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. In fact, last night, the Simmons slander took Twitter by storm as the Sixers star only scored five points in the team’s biggest game of the season. Now, Simmons and his team are eliminated from playoff contention, which has many contemplating his future in Philadelphia.

In the midst of this slander, Kuzma caught some strays even though he hasn’t played in two weeks. In the tweets below, fans joked that Simmons and Kuzma would end up forming a superteam in China, where they would be the Shaq and Kobe of the league. These jokes have been made before although it was especially brutal considering Kuzma had nothing to do with last night.

Kuzma and Simmons are two players with iffy futures on their respective teams. For instance, Kuzma recently took the Lakers out of his Instagram bio, while Simmons’ head coach doesn’t even know if he can be a point guard on a winning team. Needless to say, these two are in for turbulent offseasons that could shake up the NBA.

Keep it locked to HNHH as we will continue to bring you updates from the NBA world.
