Kendrick Lamar Festival Appearance Sparks New Music Rumors

When Kendrick Lamar released his last studio album, the world was a completely different place. Lil Baby hadn’t released much of anything at that point. Nobody knew who Roddy Ricch was. And Megan Thee Stallion was only known for being a star student, and not a superstar rapper. It’s been nearly five years since the last time the Pulitzer Prize winner dropped an album, and his fans have let him hear about that for a minute.

This week, it was announced that Kendrick Lamar had booked a festival spot at Day N Vegas later this year. Despite the fact that the billing specifies his headline gig as a performance that will range from Section.80 to DAMN., some fans are still expecting some sort of new music debut before the show in November.

The Compton rapper started trending directly following the announcement with fans speculating on what to expect from his main-stage performance. Some are frustrated that he’s headlining without having any new music out — do you realistically see Kendrick Lamar not getting a headline gig though? Others think that this will either be part of an album rollout or will kick off the road to new music at the end of this year.

See below what people are saying and let us know if you’re looking forward to his performance in Las Vegas.

Dave East Is Back On His Bully On “They Gotta Hate Us”

Dave East might have one studio album to his name but it was his mixtape work that got him known and the attention of Nas. His recent output has been a reflection of his mixtape run. Each track and freestyle has been a promising look into what he has up next.

On Tuesday, the rapper returned with a brand new drop filled with the swagger of Harlem. The production on his new track, “They Gotta Hate Us” is reminiscent of the electrifying sounds Dipset brought to the table in the early 2000s. East is effortlessly weaving through the production as he reflects on his days hustling and his newfound status as both a successful rapper and actor.

The new release from Dave East comes announced his new album, HOFFA, produced by Harry Fraud and curated by Westside Gunn.

Quotable Lyrics
Casablanca, silk outfit with ashes everywhere
Gravesites, we pullin’ up with liquor, my n***as buried there
Pure innocence,  they die young, balloons and teddy bears
It’s Thug Life, turn on the lights, it feels like Makaveli here

Kevin Hart Fires Back At People Who Say He Isn’t Funny

Kevin Hart’s faced the impacts of cancel culture to a certain degree but never enough to knock him from the top. So, when he railed against it in a recent interview with the Sunday Times, many of those who’ve attempted to cancel him in the past were, once again, back on his neck.

I personally don’t give a s— about it,” he admitted in the interview. “If somebody has done something truly damaging then, absolutely, a consequence should be attached. But when you just talk about … nonsense?… When you’re talking, ‘Someone said! They need to be taken [down]!’ Shut the f— up! What are you talking about?”

As the comedian faced heat on social media, he returned to the fold on Twitter where he doubled down on his comments while flaunting his list of achievements.

“The ‘He’s not funny’ slander is the best….this is for you. I have 3 stand-up comedy specials that fall in the top 10 highest-grossing comedy specials of all time….2 of my specials are in the top 3 of all time,” he tweeted. “I have been the highest-grossing comedian in entertainment for years now…I have also been the highest-grossing comedian in the box office with over 4 billion in earnings,” he continued.

As he continued to shrug off the criticism, saying that the ‘hate/slander fuels’ him, the comedian told people to ‘read the actual articles’ instead of a headline. To close things out, he offered a quote from J. Cole.

“J Cole said it best ‘If ur laughing at a millionaire the jokes on YOU’ …..Now back to ur regularly scheduled program. Live love and laugh,” he wrote.

NBA Youngboy Prosecutors Fight His Release: Report

The latest update pertaining to rapper Youngboy Never Broke Again’s federal gun possession charges isn’t looking very promising for fans of the 21-year-old recording artist. According to reports by AllHipHop, the rapper could remain locked up until his trial. Legal documents suggest that federal prosecutors in Youngboy’s case are deeming him a threat and requesting that he stay in jail until his trial.

Because of his criminal history, prosecutors are looking to fight the motion filed by Youngboy’s lawyers to have him released on house arrest.

Mr. Gaulden has a history of violence and a history of using firearms,” it says in the docs. “We believe that he poses a danger to the community regardless of any conditions the Court would set.

While he does have financial resources, he attempted to flee in this instant case to avoid arrest, and we have genuine concerns that he would be willing to travel back to Louisiana to face the charges that he is facing here.”

The rapper’s attorney Andrew Flier responded that his client isn’t a flight risk, arguing, “He will… comply with any terms and conditions. I spoke to him about that. I just think that, when you have someone that is in the rap entertainment business, that doesn’t mean he gets a pass for anything. Of course not. But when you have someone that’s in that industry — the reason why I bring it up, he is very well-known. He’s not going to go anywhere. That’s what he does. He makes music, he makes music videos, and he’s very successful. He’s not going to leave the United States. He will comply with any term and condition.”

This news comes following reports that authorities referred to the rapper’s takedown mission as “Never Free Again.” You can read that troubling report here.

Hopefully, Youngboy comes home soon. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates in his case.

Nintendo’s “Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2” Trailer Arrives

In a year that has already proven to be a big one for gamers, Nintendo has officially come through to issue a power move. During their currently ongoing E3 showcase, Nintendo has officially unveiled a new trailer for the long-anticipated The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2. To make this even more exciting, the trailer actually features gameplay, showcasing a brief but tantalizing glimpse of the adventure to come.

Set to be released in 2022 on the Nintendo Switch, Breath Of The Wild 2’s gameplay trailer showcases the familiar Hyrule landscape, a sight that Zelda fans have long grown accustomed to.

However, this time around it would appear that Link’s journey will take him high into the sky, which Nintendo teases will be “explorable.” Based on some interesting gliding and skydiving mechanics on display throughout the trailer, it looks like Link has picked up a few tricks; as per Zelda tradition, expect plenty of puzzles built around these new abilities. Alas, it doesn’t provide much in the way of larger plot details, though a foreboding final shot of a suspended Hyrule Castle speaks to no shortage of ominous possibilities.

With Nintendo officially confirming that “development has been steadily progressing,” look for Breath Of The Wild to hold true to its intended 2022 release window. At this stage, it’s looking like next year will be an absolutely monumental one for gamers, with heavyweight titles like this, Elden Ring, God Of War, and more queued up on the docket.

Check out the full gameplay trailer for the upcoming Zelda title below, and sound off if you’re excited to pick this one up.

Ari Fletcher Gets Into Heated Exchange With MoonCosmetics CEO

The cosmetics and beauty world seems to be one of the most sought out industries for budding entrepreneurs. While it seems that Rihanna and Kylie Jenner have managed to make fortunes from stepping into the skincare game, they worked alongside established estheticians to make sure they were selling authentic, useful products to their clients

Unfortunately, Instagram beauty brands often do not take the same precautions. Thus was the situation with MoonCosmetics and its CEO Mariee Revere. The beauty brand often relies on influencer ambassadors to promote its products, and Revere seemed to take it personally when Ari Fletcher admitted her dermatologist told her that her pores were clogged from oil. This resulted in an explosive series of tweets from Ari exposing the brand for its faulty products and business model.

“My pores was so clogged up and my dermatologist said it’s from putting oil on my skin everyday. All this time, never knew,” said Ari on Monday (June 15). Although the tweets weren’t directed at anyone, Revere seemed to assume her former product sponsor was blaming it on MoonCosmetics.

“LMAOO. bro. this gotta be a joke,” wrote Revere in her first post-and-delete tweet. “One thing about me, imma sue ya,” she wrote in a second deleted tweet with laughing emojis. It seems like she wasn’t quick enough with the delete, and Ari, catching wind of the tweets, let her hear it.

“I HAVE SCREENSHOTS OF YOU ASKING WHAT PRODUCTS WE USE ON OUR SKIN BECAUSE YOUR SHIT DOSENT WORK FOR YOU… TELL YOUR LAWYER THAT B*TCH,” began Ari. She continued, “B*TCH MAD I TWEETED AND SAID OIL CLOG MY PORES THATS NORMAL! DONT NOBODY GET TO CONTROL WHAT I POST B*TCH!”‘

“NEVER ONCE DID I SAY YOUR SHIT TRASH, WEAK, NOTHING NEVER! SELL THE PRODUCTS YOU REALLY USE INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU GOT US PUTTING ON OUR SKIN! TALKING ABOUT SUING I CANT WAIT! SEE YOU IN COURT AND IM COMING WITH ALL MY RECEIPTS SO MAKE SURE YOU PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR YOUR LAWYER!” she added in another tweet. “AND STOP ACTING LIKE YOU SELL OUT WHEN THATS 4 MONTHS OF BACKED UP ORDERS TO LOOK LIT! YOU AINT LIVING LIKE THAT LIL MAMA RELAX!”

She finally finished the rant with, “AND I REALLY USED HER PRODUCT! BUT IF IT WAS YOUR OIL YOU COULD’VE RECOMMENDED ME SOMETHING ELSE FROM YOUR LINE! BUT YOU WANNA BE THE BIG BAD WOLF!”

It seems like Ari’s tweets also gave courage to other MoonCosmetics users, who began to expose the products for causing their skin to breakout. One person even shared a blemish-filled photo of Revere, posing that they could never use a skincare product from a CEO who didn’t have perfect skin.

There’s no word yet on whether a lawsuit will actually follow the exchange.

Rick Ross Saves Money By Flying Commercial And Cutting His Own Grass

Rick Ross is well-known for his luxury lifestyle raps and his big-money boasts, but as it turns out, he has a very responsible outlook toward spending and saving his money, sharing some of his cost-cutting, money-making hacks with Forbes magazine in a new interview. For one thing, all of his investments are in stable markets like real estate, thanks to some advice from his hard-working mom.

“When I became a young millionaire for the first time, I went to my mother because she had always been a registered nurse and worked two and three jobs,” he recalls. “She always bought real estate. She came from Clarksdale, where the real estate was a lot cheaper. She would just keep buying houses. And I would say, ‘Mom, what do you think about the stock market?’ And she would say, ‘Son, I don’t really rock with the stock market. I don’t know much about it, but I know about real estate . . . So when you buy something, make sure you can touch it.’”

However, some of his other tactics are a bit unexpected for a big-time rapper who’s appeared on Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. After buying his 235-acre estate in Georgia from boxing champion Evander Holyfield in 2008, he not only turned the acquisition into a money-maker by renting it out to movie productions like the one for Coming 2 America, but he also saved money by mowing the lawn himself.

“When I bought the Fayetteville estate, locals would see me walk out of a restaurant and scream, ‘You know Holyfield spent $1 million a year to cut the grass,’” he admits. So I decided that I was gonna cut my own grass… I went down to John Deere and asked to see the biggest tractor, the most efficient tractor. I told them I had 200-plus acres that I wanted to keep cut, and they pointed out the right tractor. I bought it right then and there. I bought the extended attachment on the back that would cut even wider. Once I got it back home, I filled it up with gas. I may have sat in the same spot for two hours before I got everything working, but once I got it going, I didn’t stop. I cut grass for about five hours.”

He further explains how he finds the process therapeutic, spending time “connecting with the estate and the animals and the birds and the wildlife.”

Ross also lets it slip that he’d rather buy antiques at swap meets than spend a lot decorating and that he flies commercial instead of owning a private jet. Even a boss keeps to a budget — that’s how he stays a boss.
