French band Justice Says Justin Bieber’s ‘Justice’ Album Artwork Was A ‘Very Conscious Rip-Off’ Of Their Logo

The battle between Justin Bieber and French dance duo Justice continues. The latter sent a cease-and-desist letter to the singer earlier this year claiming that the logo on Bieber’s album was a copied version of the duo’s own logo. Three months after the letter was sent to Bieber, Justice’s Gaspard Augé spoke about the issue in a interview with The Guardian.

“Though Bieber is from Canada, his actions fit this mindset of American hegemony: ‘Oh well, it’s just a small band from France, I’m sure we can take their name, nobody will care…’” Augé said during the interview. “Obviously, we don’t own the word ‘Justice’ and we don’t own the cross. But [Bieber’s] management got in touch first to ask where our logo came from, so it’s not some unhappy coincidence. To me, it’s a very conscious rip-off. And that’s where the problem is.”

It was first revealed that Bieber reached out to the French duo after Justice’s co-manager made the reveal at the time of the cease-and-desist letter. “Through your illegal co-opting of the Mark, you are now subject to immediate legal action and damages including, but not limited to, punitive and injustice relief,” the letter read. “Not only was Bieber’s team actually aware of Justice’s use of the Mark, they sought to use the same artist to essentially duplicate it for the Album. This is textbook bad faith and willful infringement.”

Investigation Opened Into Use Of Force During South Carolina Arrest

After two nights of peaceful protests, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been asked to conduct an official investigation into the Wednesday arrests of Ricky and Travis Price. The arrests were streamed on Facebook Live by a nearby onlooker, which shows police punching the brothers repeatedly while they are on the ground. An internal investigation is currently being conducted by the Rock Hill Police Department.

Ricky Price was pulled over by Homeland Security officers and Rock Hill Police officers for an illegal turn and lane change. Ricky called his brother from inside the car while police searched it, finding two bags of marijuana, a handgun, and crack cocaine. The altercation started when Travis Price arrived and allegedly bumped into the officers while trying to grab items from the car. Travis was then also put under arrest, but refused until officers shoved him into a gas tank, claiming Travis had pushed them. At this point, Travis and Ricky Price engaged with officers while on the ground, though it’s unclear to see what exactly was happening.

The abuse continued as the officers removed Ricky’s handcuffs to take his jewelry off, but was knocked to the ground and punched in the face after he punched an officer. Ricky was denied bond for a number of crimes including drug and gun possession, and sits in a local jail in a wheelchair with two black eyes and a broken nose. The use of force that we see in the video is a perfect example of why African Americans today in certain parts of America are afraid of police,” Price family attorney told CNN, “There’s no justification for doing that to anybody.”

Eight individuals were taken into custody Thursday night while protesting the violent arrest in Rock Hill. Rock Hill NAACP leader Norma Gray cautioned protesters to remain peaceful: “again we’re asking for calm as you protest. Use your civil rights but do it in calm.”

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Look Smitten As They Leave LA Dinner Date

Jennifer Lopez split from her former fiancé Alex Rodriguez back in May of 2021. The split seemed pretty amicable, as the two announced their split in a joint statement. “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” wrote the couple.

Shortly thereafter, Lopez was spotted out with Ben Affleck, whom the actress dated for a couple of years in the early 00s. The two have been spending time together in Los Angeles, and J. Lo has been rumored to be looking for schools in the area to potentially move in with the movie star. On Friday night (June 25), the fresh couple had a date night in Beverly Hills, looking completely smitten with all smiles as they departed the restaurant.

The Hustler’s actress wore her hair in a high ponytail she was seen exiting the Avra restaurant. She rocked a beige overcoat with tan shorts and a white tank underneath, showing off her signature-toned legs. She paired the look with a brown purse to match, and black heels.

Affleck was more casual, rocking a black coat, jeans, and sneaks with a green button-up underneath. Lopez cheesed wide as the pair cuddled in the back seat of their chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce on their way home from the romantic outing

Ben and J. Lo have been switching between coasts for the last few months after rekindling their romance. Their relationship does seem to be moving pretty fast, but given they were once engaged, they are likely just picking up exactly where they left off.

Tom Brady Reacts To LeBron James Claiming He’s Not The GOAT Athlete

Tom Brady is the greatest football player of all time, however, there are many fans out there who believe the distinction should go to guys like Jerry Rice or some of the more defensive stars from the game’s past. While Brady is the winningest player in league history, he is by no means the most dominant when it comes to his athleticism. In fact, LeBron James recently came out and said that while he believes Brady is the GOAT of football, he doesn’t think Brady is the GOAT athlete.

Brady was recently on an episode of The Shop where he got to comment on LeBron’s remarks. As Brady explained, he understands why someone would think that way and in his heart, he knows there are a lot of factors that keep him from being the greatest athlete ever.

“I’m not a big comparison thing like that and it’s because really it just depends what style you like,” Brady said. “You could say, well, you’re maybe the most accomplished. I would say, OK, yeah, I’ve won a lot of games, Super Bowls and so forth. But my style of play might not fit everybody else’s, what their view of what that position should be. I can really just be the best with the body that I was given. There’s certain things that I certainly cannot do. And I have the awareness to realize, OK, I can’t do those things.”

Despite his greatness, Brady has always been humble throughout his career. While there have been times where he flaunts his success, he has never made it all about himself, which is rare for a player of his caliber.

Twitter Reacts To President Biden’s Use Of “Latinx”

“Latinx”, a term coined to avoid the gendered inferences of “Latino” and “Latina”, has received growing criticism since its inception from those who identify as Latin or Central American. This criticism came to fruition on Thursday when President Joe Biden used the term to describe the Latino populations of America who have been statistically more hesitant to receive the vaccine. Twitter users of Latin descent and not have all taken to criticize the President for using the term, which Latino Americans rarely use themselves and see as an American colonization of their language.

“If an American comes up to me and calls me by latinx i am f****** sueing,” said one Twitter user in response to Biden’s speech. Others voiced similar disdain for the word: “Speaking as someone that’s 1/4 Dominican, and married to a Latina, can say with the utmost sincerity that I don’t know a single person of Hispanic heritage that considers themselves ‘Latinx’. The woke crowd needs to let that one go. It really does just sound silly.”

Other users were more focused on Biden’s controversial remarks, which read “It’s awful hard, as well, to get Latinx vaccinated as well. Why? They’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported,” which many read as racially charged and stereotypical: “Latinos are more offended that Biden called us ‘ Latinx ‘ than they are about his assumption that we are all illegal.” Another user had a similar stance: “this is such a democrat quote because he used ‘Latinx’ and then was just straight up racist lmao.”

A Pew Research Center Poll conducted last year found that only 3% of Latino Americans used the term “Latinx” and 76% had never even heard of the term.

Do you think the term is useful or necessary? Let us know and check out some reactions below:

Quentin Tarantino Doubles Down On Retiring After Next Film

On Kanye West’s “So Appalled,” Jay-Z famously rapped, “Dark Knight feeling, die and be a hero/Or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.” Hov also alluded to the merit of stopping while you’re ahead on 2011’s “Illest Motherfucker Alive,” on which he rapped, “Know when to leave when the heat is coming, I learnt that/This is where DeNiro would be if he ain’t turn back.” Whether people are discussing artists like Jay-Z or athletes like Michael Jordan, there’s always a debate about whether there’s a “right time” to retire.

In a new interview from Real Time with Bill Maherrenowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and Bill Maher argue about Tarantino’s rumored retirement after his tenth film, and it turns out that the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood filmmaker thinks that it’s simply better to go out on a high note than mar one’s legacy.

Maher argues that Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is Tarantino’s best work, and it would be ridiculous for him to retire. After laughing at Maher’s passionate argument, Tarantino responds by saying, “Look. I don’t have a reason that I would want to say out loud or that’s going to win in any argument in a court of public opinion or Supreme Court or anything like that. At the same time, working for 30 years doing as many movies as I’ve done…that’s a long career, and I’ve given it everything I have. Every single solitary thing.”

Tarantino then discusses film legends like Donald Siegel, who he believes should have stopped making movies after his incredible run during the 70s, because he thinks that having a grand ending to one’s career is important. Maher continues to press the subject and suggest that his learned skills over the years have made him better, which prompts him to ask Tarantino whether he would make Reservoir Dogs different if he were to make it today.

“That’s kind of a captured time in a moment kind of thing,” Tarantino admits before dropping an absolute bombshell. “But I actually considered doing a remake of Reservoir Dogs is my last movie. I won’t do it internet! But I considered it.”

Check out Quentin Tarantino’s full interview with Bill Maher below. The discussion about retirement begins at the 1:44-mark.

Kid Cudi Was Comfortable Wearing A Dress On ‘SNL’ Despite Knowing ‘It Would Piss Some People Off’

Months after sharing his most recent album, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen, Kid Cudi brought his talents to Saturday Night Live for a pair of performances. During the show, he performed “Sad People” and “Tequila Shots”, and while fans were happy to catch a live set from the rapper, Cudi’s decision to wear a dress while he rapped “Sad People” caught a lot of attention. It was designed by Virgil Abloh and made to resemble the dress Kurt Cobain famously once wore on the show. During a recent episode of LeBron James’ HBO show, The Shop: Uninterrupted, the rapper explained why he wore it and how it all came together.

SNL comes my way, so I immediately thought like, oh this would be the perfect opportunity to wear a dress,” he revealed on the show. “But, do I go to a store and just buy something off the rack, or do I go get somebody to make me some sh*t?”

After looking around for the perfect dress, he decided that having one customized for him would be the better move.

“I was at this point where I was looking on my phone, kind of looking at all these different stores and looking at dresses,” he added. “I was just like, this is cute, this is cute. And then I finally realized, yo, I’m gonna get Virgil to do this. I’m gonna see if he has time, ‘cause he’s crazy [busy], he’s got a lot of things he’s doing.” He continued, “And he hit me right back and was like, ‘Yes, let’s go. I got prints, what you want?’ I was like, alright, I want something floral, like a sundress. He’s like, ‘Perfect.’ He sent me prints like two seconds later. He had them sh*ts on deck.

Cudi was also asked if he was worried about the possible backlash in response to him wearing the dress, but the rapper made it clear that he was not.

I’ve never been someone who’s like thinking about the backlash. I don’t give a f*ck about what anyone thinks. You can’t when you’re doing this sh*t. I knew it would piss some people off, but I love that. Because hip-hop is so weird about sh*t. I’ve already seen people making YouTube videos where they’re just strictly talking about me and this dress. Like grown men angry, grown Black men angry. ‘He’s doing something against men and masculinity, it’s a big thing going on…’ And I just be like, yo, this is so funny, this is crazy that I’ve stirred it up like this.

You can watch a clip of Cudi talking about the dress in the video above.

Damian Lillard Responds To Fan Who Brought Up Chauncey Billups’ Rape Allegation

Chauncey Billups was recently hired to become the next head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers and while many like the hiring, it has come with some controversy. Back in the 90s when Billups started his career with the Boston Celtics, he and his teammate Ron Mercer were accused of rape and sexual assault. While the allegation was eventually settled, many felt as though it should have disqualified Billups as a candidate. The same was said about Jason Kidd, who had been accused of assault in the past.

Today, a Toronto Raptors fan decided to come at Damian Lillard over the hiring, saying that Dame shouldn’t have propped Billups up in the first place. Lillard saw the tweet and replied noting that in the late 90s, he was simply too young to even know about the Billups allegations. Dame also said he doesn’t condone the alleged actions although, at the end of the day, Billups’ hiring was not his doing.

“Really? I was asked what coaches I like of the names I “heard” and I named them,” Lillard said. “Sorry I wasn’t aware of their history I didn’t read the news when I was 7/8yrs old. I don’t support Those things … but if this the route y’all wana come at me… say less.”

The fan tried to come at Lillard again although the Blazers star quickly put an end to that. Needless to say, some fans are trying to make Lillard the scapegoat for something that isn’t his fault, nor his decision.
