Anthony Davis Gives An Update On His Groin Injury During Twitch Stream

Anthony Davis was one of the best players in the NBA during the 2019-2020 season. He won his first-ever NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers, and throughout the Finals, some wondered if he would get Finals MVP. This past season, Davis had a fairly slow start and it seemed as though he was battling through some injuries. Eventually, Davis’ health deteriorated and he missed numerous games with calf problems. In the playoffs, Davis began to have groin issues, and eventually, the Lakers were ousted.

Since that time, Davis has been spending time at home where he can be found streaming on Twitch. In his most recent broadcast, Davis addressed his fans in the chat by noting that his groin injury is starting to feel a lot better and that when it comes to next season, he will be 100 percent ready to go. As far as the Lakers as a team are concerned, Davis seems confident that they can get back into the upper echelon of the Western Conference.

“I feel good tho, chat. Groin feels real good. Trust me, we’re going to be ready for next year. We’re going to be right. We’re going to be right,” Davis said excitedly.

While Davis might have a ways to go in his recovery, the season is still four months away, which means he should be more than okay once October rolls around. If he really is at 100 percent by then, the rest of the league will have to be on notice.

Donovan Mitchell & Mike Conley Receive Injury Status Updates

Despite having a 2-0 series lead against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Utah Jazz are now down 3-2 to a team that is operating without Kawhi Leonard. It has been a rough few games especially with Donovan Mitchell getting injured. His ankle has been acting up over the last few outings and it’s clear that he hasn’t been playing at 100 percent. This has allowed the Clippers to push the Jazz to the brink of elimination, and if Mitchell isn’t back tonight, the Jazz are at risk of being bounced out early.

The Jazz have also been without Mike Conley who is their starting point guard. His hamstring issues have kept him out of the playoffs and if there was a time where the Jazz could use him, it would be right now. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Conley is likely going to be in the lineup tonight, while Mitchell is a game-time decision.

In the playoffs, a game-time decision usually means the player is going to be in the lineup, especially when you consider the stakes. However, this isn’t always what’s best for a player’s health, as we’ve seen players like Anthony Davis become liabilities while trying to play through an injury.

Hopefully, both Jazz players are ready to go, and we can get a true sense of what this Utah team is made of.

Russ Keeps The Songs Coming With “Rather Be Myself”

Russ has proven to be a polarizing artist, though that hasn’t stopped him from impressing some of the game’s elite lyricists; look no further than his acclaimed CHOMP EP, featuring appearances from KXNG Crooked, Benny The Butcher, Black Thought, and more. Now, Russ has tapped in with another respected veteran, producer Jake One, for his latest single “Rather Be Myself.”

“I play forever dawg, I’m focused on longevity,” he spits, over Jake’s laid-back and smooth production. “I try to run my race, and not care about who’s ahead of me / cause comparison is the recipe for depression and questionin’ your integrity, hope I don’t let it get to me.” Opting to pull back rather than barring out, Russ’ slick flow is given ample space to shine as he reflects on some of his innermost struggles. If you’re a fan of his more lyrically driven material, be sure to check out “Rather Be Myself” now and sound off in the comments.

How do you feel about Russ as an emcee?

Dirk Nowitzki Earns New Role With The Dallas Mavericks

It’s been a wild week for the Dallas Mavericks organization as there has been a lot of drama circulating the team. It all started when a report came out claiming that Luka Doncic and Mavericks players were upset with head coach Rick Carlisle. This report also stated that Luka didn’t like the Mavericks front office and that things were beginning to go south, especially in light of his upcoming contract negotiation. Yesterday, Carlisle stepped down from his head coaching role while the team’s general manager also stepped down, days prior.

Now, it is being reported by Marc j. Spears that the Dallas Mavericks have hired former player and NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki as an advisor. Nowitzki will now get to help the team make some difficult decisions over the coming months. Of course, these decisions include hiring a new coach and general manager.

It remains to be seen how this will go for the Mavericks, who seem to be in disarray right now. Had the Mavs defeated the Clippers in the first round, the conversations surrounding the team would be a lot different, however, they have a superstar to keep happy, and if they make any wrong moves, he could be gone sooner rather than later.

Keep it locked to HNHH for as we will be sure to keep you informed on everything happening in the NBA.

Sa-Roc Absolutely Snaps In New Freestyle

There’s a case to be made that Sa-Roc is one of the best lyricists in the game, with her recent album The Sharecropper’s Daughter being one of 2020’s most slept-on projects, period. With her name still left out of the conversation at a woeful rate, Sa-Roc remains entirely unfazed, continuing to lead fellow emcees by example with an incredible I-95 Freestyle.

Upon introducing herself as “The Goddess Emcee,” a scholar of the legendary Rakim, Sa-Roc proceeds to get to work. “Got my formal education from my bloodline, that’s Ivy/IV / came up in the heart of Cocaine 80s bruh, No I-D / life was mostly bitter with a little bit of sweet / I had to concentrate to get all of this juice, yes that’s Hi-C,” she spits, and that’s only in the opening moments.

“I know this must sound cocky, but Sa-Roc to rap like a little bit of turbinado to ground coffee,” she raps, setting up a ridiculous scheme. “Got a full grasp of this Queen’s English, when that tongue loose I hit the booth and make that heifer sound cockney / call me Shocklee, Public Enemy on every property / cause I’m a product of this rebel aristocracy / so they trail me and internet stalk me cause I’m exorcising demons with this drip — Mephistopheles.”

It’s no wonder Sa-Roc caught the attention of Black Thought, who previously set the bar for radio freestyles before hopping on The Sharecropper’s Daughter for a guest appearance. If you have any appreciation for the art of lyricism, do yourself a favor and watch one of the game’s sharpest at work. Do you think Sa-Roc deserves more credit as a top-tier emcee in the game?

Sheck Wes Celebrates His First Season As A Professional Basketball Player

Although J. Cole’s time in the Basketball Africa League was both an extremely inspiring yet incredibly short run, another major Hip-Hop artist has been living out his hoop dreams since last fall. After declaring himself for the 2020 NBA Draft and eventually going undrafted, Sheck Wes ended up signing with the B-level Paris Basketball club last November.

Now, a summer later, Sheck Wes has reflected on his first season as a professional basketball player in France. While he’s far from Paris Basketball’s star player — at least, as far as basketball talent goes — Sheck played in three matches and averaged 7 minutes, 1.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.3 assists.

“ALLLEZZZ PARIS !!!” Sheck Wes writes in the caption of his celebratory post. “SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE CITY THE PEOPLE ! FOR MY TEAMMATES and STAFF !!!! TURNED INTO A WINNING SEASON !!!! shoutout da @yard #H2PSEASON #hell2paradise.”

Despite Sheck Wes’s grim stat line, his team managed to have an extremely successful season. According to Paris Basketball’s official website, Sheck’s team finished second place in the ProB championship, which meant that it would be promoted for the first time in the team’s history to the Jeep ELITE, a.k.a the primary division in France’s professional basketball league.

Congratulations to Sheck Wes and the Paris Basketball club!

HRSMN Return With Apocalyptic New Album “The Last Ride”

It was long believed that the four HRSMN, represented by Kurupt (Famine), Ras Kass (Pestilence), Canibus (War), and Killah Priest (Death), had gone dormant. Yet after twenty years of speculation, the lyrically charged supergroup has returned to deliver their long-awaited — and presumably final — album The Last Ride.

Clocking in at fourteen tracks and featuring guest appearances from Planet Asia, Chino XL, Blakkamore, RBX, and more, the project is a welcome showcase from four emcees who have long honed their bars. As expected, Ras Kass, Kurupt, Canibus, and Killah Priest are in devastating form, taking to a surprisingly varied repertoire of production, including a more contemporary sound on “One Second” and a cinematic dose of scholarly boom-bap on “Centaurs.”

The maniacal “Impossible” is made all the zanier through a potent dose from RBX, while the penultimate “Burger King” finds Ras Kass trading bars with Phil Da Agony and El Grant. On an appropriate note, the closing track “Last Ride” captures a spooky western vibe that serves as a fitting end to the voyage. If you’ve ever been interested in hearing a project from the HRSMN, be sure to show support to the project right now, and be sure to sound off with your favorite tracks, standout members, and hardest bars in the comments below.
