Becky Hammon Becomes First Woman Finalist For An NBA Head Coaching Job

Becky Hammon has been making a name for herself as the assistant coach of the San Antonio Spurs. Throughout the last few years, head coach Gregg Popovich has put a lot of trust in her and other teams have taken notice. In fact, earlier this season, Hammon became the first woman acting head coach in NBA history as she was tasked with filling in for Pop after he had been ejected in a game against the Lakers. The Spurs players have a great deal of respect for her and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before she gets her own head coaching role.

In fact, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Hammon is now a finalist for the head coaching gig in Portland. She has been invited back for a second interview and she will be competing for the job with Chauncey Billups. This news is significant as she is now the first woman to ever become a finalist for an NBA head coaching role.

There are numerous head coaching openings in the NBA right now and it is believed that Hammon will be a candidate elsewhere, as well. Either way, this is a huge achievement for Hammon and it truly feels like her time is coming soon. With more and more women joining NBA coaching staffs, perhaps we will see multiple women head coaches in the not-so-distant future.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you the latest news from the NBA.

Safaree Says He’s Ready For Change: “Starting My Skin Bleaching Process”

Safaree Samuels hasn’t been having the best month after his estranged wife Erica Mena filed for divorce days after they announced they were expecting another baby. The rumor mill started picking up in activity as fans suggested that Safaree got another woman pregnant, which he has denied. As Safaree and Erica bicker over custody, Samuels has shared with his followers that he’s undergoing a major appearance change, telling his fans that he’s going to start bleaching his skin.

Safaree is presently under fire for his most recent tweet, in which he tells his followers that he’s about to start bleaching his skin. “Starting my skin bleaching process today… it’s time for change [Black and white praying hands],” he wrote.

Some people have already told Safaree that they’ve unfollowed him for this tweet alone, calling the entertainer “corny” for this move. It’s possible that Safaree is just trying to bait people into engaging with his content, which wouldn’t be completely off-base for Nicki’s ex. He’s seemingly been pretty hungry for attention, faking his own divorce a few times before the real deal this year.

Previously, Moniece Slaughter, Love & Hip Hop‘s Spice, and others have faced backlash for allegedly bleaching their skin to appear lighter. Do you think Safaree is just trying to rile people up or is he being serious?

Tom Brady Recalls Being Rejected In Free Agency By Mystery Team

Tom Brady is one of the greatest athletes of all time and when it comes to winning championships, he is easily the most dominant. He has seven Super Bowls to his name and this year, he will be going for his eighth, at the age of 44. Last year, Brady played his very first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and it was an overwhelming success as he won the seventh title. Prior to joining the Bucs, Brady was a free agent for the first time in his career and there were plenty of teams calling his phone.

In a recent appearance on LeBron James’ The Shop, Brady spoke about his free agency and how he was a bit upset that one team passed on him. While Brady doesn’t say which team it was, he does admit that he felt a little disrespected considering who that team had at quarterback.

“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf–ker?’” Brady said. This ultimately got quite a few laughs from the panel which included Kid Cudi, Draymond Green, Maverick Carter, and comedian Chelsea Handler.

It was rumored that teams like the 49ers, Raiders, and Titans were all interested in Brady, and considering who their respective quarterbacks are, it would make sense for Brady to feel a way, especially since he’s proven himself as the greatest of all time.

Either way, Brady seems to be doing just fine with the Bucs, and we’re sure he’s happy with where he went. Regardless, the competitor in Brady couldn’t help but feel just a bit slighted.

J. Cole Toys With Touring “The Off-Season”

With touring once again a viable option for artists, many have been eager to take their show back on the road and showcase the music they released throughout the pandemic. For J. Cole, his most recent headlining tour was the 36-stop North American KOD Tour in 2018, alongside supporting acts Jaden, EarthGang, and Young Thug.

Since then, he’s officially added another studio album to his discography in The Off-Season, a project featuring guest appearances from Morray, Bas, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage. It’s no surprise he’s already toying with the idea of staging another tour, taking to Instagram to all but guarantee it. “S h o u l d . i . t o u r . t h i s . o n e ?” he inquires, spacing out his question in the same fashion as The Off-Season’s tracklist. The responses gathered thus far seem to fall overwhelmingly into the yes camp.

At this stage, it’s clear that Cole is simply having a little bit of theatrical fun, with the plans for an Off-Season tour likely already drawn up and ready to announce in the imminent future. Don’t be surprised to see a bit more information arrive by the end of the week — perhaps even a schedule of dates and venues. It would certainly be an exciting one for fans, as The Off-Season is far less conceptual than its predecessor, with many bar-heavy songs that would likely translate quite effectively to a stadium setting.

Check out Cole’s water-testing post below, and sound off if you’d be interested in seeing the J. Cole live experience in a venue near you.

Lil Baby Announces “Back Outside” Tour Dates With Lil Durk

Lil Baby and Lil Durk are fresh off the release of their #1-charting album The Voice of the Heroes and it looks like they’re taking the new music on the road, announcing the Back Outside tour with dates across the country.

The nationwide tour will kick off at the beginning of September in Mansfield, MA. It will run for over a month and a half, with dates in New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and other cities. Interestingly enough, the tour will not touch down in either of Baby or Durk’s hometowns of Atlanta and Chicago. They will also be staying in the United States, possibly leaving room for a tour extension in Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world down the road.

The tour is presented by Rolling Loud and Live Nation with tickets going on sale on Friday, June 25 at 10 am local time.

Stephen A. Smith Wants Ben Simmons Out Of Philadelphia

Ben Simmons was horrible for the Philadelphia 76ers last night as they were eliminated from the playoffs by the Atlanta Hawks. Now, the 76ers will have to go home for the summer and think about what comes next, as “The Process” simply hasn’t worked out as it was supposed to. At this point, Simmons’ future in Philadelphia seems bleak, and there plenty of pundits who believe the Sixers need to move on and explore other options and the point guard position.

Stephen A. Smith was particularly blunt this morning as he spoke about how the Philadelphia fanbase isn’t going to forget Simmons’ recent performance. In fact, Smith believes he has fallen out of favor with the fans to the point where the Sixers have no choice but to trade him.

“Ben Simmons has got to go,” Smith said. “That city ain’t ever gonna forgive him for what they have seen. Not just that he missed shots, but he didn’t take them. Ben Simmons is literally scared to shoot the basketball.”

Simmons scored five points in the pivotal Game 7 and he only took four shots. It was a pretty abysmal showing from a player who was touted as the next LeBron James and fans are starting to get fed up. Daryl Morey will have a lot to figure out in the offseason although it’s almost a guarantee that Simmons will be a part of trade rumors throughout the summer.

A lot has changed for Jack Harlow since the pandemic first started. While he was certainly on the rise prior to March 2020, his debut album That’s What They All Say and the breakout success of the stacked “What’s Poppin Remix” has elevated him to an entirely new level. Now that the United States have opened back up, Harlow is looking to take his show on the road in what’s sure to be his biggest tour yet.

Earlier today, Harlow took a moment to share a teaser trailer for his upcoming Creme-De-La-Creme tour. “Let me know where you want me…” he captions. “Tour dates drop on Tuesday.” The clip itself finds Harlow speaking with a Parisien woman, who appears to be outlining the finer details. “Jack wants all the pretty girls to go ahead and get their outfits picked out,” she translates, after Harlow whispers his request in her ear. “Jack says to tell the promoters to have 40 bottles of Perrier and a basket of lightly toasted banana bread.
