Ice Cube Says He Refused To Play Lucky In “Poetic Justice” Because He Was “A Sucker”

Ice Cube says that he rejected an offer to play Lucky in John Singleton’s Poetic Justice, a character famously portrayed by 2Pac, because Lucky was a “sucker.” The NWA member spoke with Big Boy for a new interview, in which he discussed turning down the role.

Cube acknowledged that the role was “going to get me paid, too.”

As for the issue he took with the character, he explained that he “only had one problem with it and he didn’t want to change it, so I didn’t want to do it. The problem was I didn’t think — me playing 2Pac — that I would kick my homeboy out the car for a girl I just met when we got to Oakland. I didn’t think that was cool…It made the character kind of a sucker to me.”

Cube also said that he shot down the role of “O-Dog” in Menace II Society, because he didn’t want to be typecast after playing “Doughboy” in Boyz n the Hood.

Pac’s role as Lucky went on to become one of the most famous from his acting career. He also starred as Bishop in Juice and numerous other projects.

NFL Fines Washington Football Team $10 Million Following Sexual Misconduct Investigation

The NFL has fined the Washington Football Team $10 million following an investigation into sexual misconduct within the organization, the league announced Thursday. The team has been under independent investigation since July 2020.

“I feel great remorse for the people who had difficult, even traumatic experiences while working here. I’m truly sorry for that,” Football Team owner Dan Snyder said in a statement after the ruling was announced. “I can’t turn back the clock, but I promise that nobody who works here will ever have that kind of experience again, at least not as long as Tanya and I are owners of this team.”

The 15 years prior to 2020, the team had faced numerous sexual harassment allegations. Lead attorney Beth Wilkinson interviewed over 150 people in the investigation.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reacted in a statement, saying that the organization should become a first-tier workplace with the changes they will implement going forward: “Over the past 18 months, Dan and Tanya have recognized the need for change and have undertaken important steps to make the workplace comfortable and dignified for all employees, and those changes, if sustained and built upon, should allow the club to achieve its goal of having a truly first-tier workplace.”

Quotable Lyrics

When the rain hits my window
I take and *cough* me some indo
Me and Timbaland, ooh, we sang a jangle
We so tight that you get our styles tangled
Sway on dosie-do like you loco
Can we get kinky tonight?
Like Coko, so-so
You don’t wanna play with my Yo-Yo
I smoke my hydro on the D-low (D-D-D-D-D-low)

A New Report Suggests Tucker Carlson May Have Voted For Kanye West In 2020, Not Trump

Tucker Carlson is one of the most visible supporters of Donald Trump on American cable television, but according to a report, not even the Fox News host could muster up a vote for Trump in November.

According to a Politico report, Carlson started telling people that he didn’t vote for Trump in the election the now-former president claims he won against all evidence. Instead, he apparently voted for, uh, Kanye West, seemingly as a way to differentiate himself from other Fox News hosts.

Shortly after the presidential election, the Fox News host started telling some program guests that he had cast his ballot for West, according to two people familiar with those conversations. Given Carlson’s fierce on-air commentary in favor of Trump, the guests were left wondering if Carlson was serious or merely joking.

“It’s his way of saying that he’s not just another Trumpette at Fox News like Sean Hannity,” one of the sources said, referring to Carlson’s fellow primetime opinion host and reputed internal rival.

Another source mentioned in the story said he mentioned his intentions before the election as well, citing that “he and Kanye get along” and have similarly restrictive views on reproductive rights. Despite all that, though, who Carlson voted for largely didn’t matter for a variety of reasons. As the story noted, Carlson votes in Florida, where West wasn’t officially on the ballot. That would mean he would have to write in West’s name, even if it ultimately wouldn’t count for much of anything other than bragging rights.

It’s unclear exactly who leaked this information and if it’s accurate, but from what we know about how Carlson himself is often the biggest source of information among people in Trumpworld, you can at least heavily infer where this kind of thing is coming from.

Suns forward Jae Crowder said that Beverley’s shove, which netted him an ejection, was the moment that he knew the team had broken the Clippers.

“We know they were broke. We know we broke them,” Crowder told reporters Wednesday. “There’s no better sign of defeat than during that moment. … Once we knew we got the game won, we knew at some point they would break. I think that’s basically what you saw. You saw a breaking point with one of their leaders in that locker room. And that’s a great feeling to have, especially in the playoffs, such a great feeling.”

A group of fans also got into a brawl in the stands during the game.

“We gotta stop giving some of these dumbass rappers a platform and money,” one user argued. “Kodak is Haitian and his country has going through numerous problems for decades imagine what his own country could of done with 100k?”

Another critiqued Kodak, writing “Hes from one of the poorest places in Florida and yet he rather impress people for views instead of giving that money to black poverty stricken families. This could be one of the saddest and out of touch videos I’ve ever seen.”

Are The Weeknd & Angelina Jolie Dating?

Fresh off his record-breaking Billboard run, his recent sweep at the Juno Awards, and the reveal that he’ll be working alongside the creator of “Euphoria” to write a new HBO show, The Weeknd is probably experiencing the best stage in his career so far, and thanks to a handful of Los Angeles photographers, things look like they’re probably about to get even better for the Canadian singer-songwriter.

According to Page SixAngelina Jolie and The Weeknd were both caught on camera while leaving Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles Wednesday evening, and fans have already begun speculating about whether or not the two celebrities were on a date at the high-end Italian eatery.

The report reveals that The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie were allegedly at Giorgio Baldi for hours, although they left separately as to not be photographed together, it’s a strong possibility that they linked up together during their visit to the restaurant. According to Page Six, Angelina and Abel’s meet-up could have been romantic, but it also could have simply been a Hollywood business meeting, considering The Weeknd’s new opportunity with HBO.

Do you think that it’s just a coincidence that the two celebrities spent the evening at the same restaurant and left around the same time? Or do you think there’s a romance brewing between The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie?
