Over the weekend, promotional efforts for the album ramped up. ‘Ye was spotted in the studio with Tyler, The Creator before linking up with Justin LaBoy who said Kanye was rapping like he was broke again on his new project. In fact, it was LaBoy who broke the news that the album would be arriving this week. Though some might not look at the social media star as a reliable source, Kanye’s close collaborator Fonzworth Bentley has provided more concrete evidence pointing towards the release of DONDA this week.

On Thursday, Kanye West will be hosting a formal listening party at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Bentley shared a flyer for the party which reads, “Kanye West Presents Donda.” The event will kick off at 8 p.m. but chances are, ‘Ye will be running late. Nick Cannon & Alyssa Scott Give Fans A Closer Look At Zen Cannon

Nick Cannon welcomed his seventh child on June 23rd. Former Wild N’ Out girl Alyssa Scott and Cannon chose to keep the birth private until Alyssa shared a set of beautiful black and white photos with her newborn on July 4.

Since then, the new parents have been thoroughly enjoying showing off their baby boy to the world. Alyssa took to the gram to show off Zen Cannon’s adorable first photoshoot. This first full look at the baby shows Zen swaddled up, calmly gazing at the cameras and bright lights.

The Wild N’ Out host shared a photo from the shoot to his story on Sunday with the text, “introducing Zen Scott Cannon a.k.a. Z Chillin.” Alyssa reposted his share and added a few loving emojis. In the photo, Baby Zen posed with his arms behind his head and eyes closed, fitting to his name.

Nick’s twins with DJ Abby De La Rosa, Zion Mixolydian Cannon, and Zillion Heir Cannon, just turned one month this past weekend. Nick was present for that photoshoot too, posting videos of him putting headphones on “DJ Z-Mix” and “DJ Z-illy Dollaz” for their booth-themed photoshoot on Sunday.

Social media is still in an uproar over Nick’s back-to-back births. One fan was amazed at his antics and echoed an idea that seems to be making the rounds across all social channels: “The fact he make it to every maternity shoot.”

J. Cole Works Out With Carmelo Anthony: Watch

Following his professional basketball debut in Rwanda a few weeks ago, rapper J. Cole is staying in shape by working out with some of the world’s best athletes. As the 36-year-old hopes to land a role in the NBA, he’s been spotted training with a few players, including Talen Horton-Tucker of the Los Angeles Lakers. This weekend, he was back on the court with a first-ballot Hall Of Famer, linking up with Carmelo Anthony to get some burn.

As Carmelo trains for next season following the Portland Trail Blazers’ unfortunate departure from the Playoffs, he invited J. Cole to the gym to see if the aspiring hoops star can really get down, learning firsthand that Cole has some jump to him. There are a few photos and videos going around, showing Melo in offseason mode as he looks like a legit beast. Perhaps he had a talk with J. Cole about where he wants to play next season, possibly even recruiting the rapper to his chosen city.

There has been a lot of talk surrounding J. Cole’s next moves in the basketball world. Following his stint in Africa, he appears to be prepared to take the next jump in his career, but he’s also got a few albums in the pipeline too.

Kodak Black Interpolates NBA Youngboy Bars On “Senseless”

After a bid behind bars, Kodak Black has been on a mission to make up for the lost time in his career. Since his release in January, the rapper already released two new projects — his full-length Haitian Boy Kodak and his surprising birthday release, Happy Birthday Kodak. However, the stream of music isn’t stopping any time soon. Between the two projects, a few guest appearances, and loose singles, it’s apparent that Kodak Black has enough music in the stash that he’s getting ready to release.

The rapper came through earlier today with a new video to accompany his latest single, “Senseless.” Taking on twangy, bluesy Louisiana production,  Kodak’s latest track was produced by Buddha Blessed and references NBA Youngboy’s “Make No Sense.” “I feel like I’m Kodak Black in 2015/ In the VIP with plenty killas, mixin’ molly with the lean,” Kodak raps on the hook through his nasally delivery. “Don’tmake no sense, I catch a body on the scene.”

Given the previous friction between NBA Youngboy and Kodak Black, it’s an interesting sample to choose from and flip.

Peep the record below.

Quotable Lyrics
Over on Southside, with that strap on, don’t need nobody else
I feel like I’m Kodak Black, don’t see nobody else
My n***as ain’t got no money, oh boy, get Jesus outta here
My n***as ain’t got no money, kick the demon outta here

Drakeo The Ruler Is A Picky Eater: See Why He Hates Mayonnaise & Ranch

If you’re tasked with cooking a meal for Los Angeles rapper Drakeo The Ruler, make sure you don’t add any sauces to the plate. The “Talk To Me” artist is a very picky eater and he’s got a lot of hatred in his heart for mayonnaise, ketchup, and other sauces. He spoke about his distaste for most condiments on the second part of his Snack Review episode.

Following up on his initial review portion, Drakeo got back with us to answer some pressing questions about his food preferences, and we learned a lot about the icon. For starters, he’s not a big fan of most sauces, enjoying barbecue on occasion but despising mayonnaise, ranch, and others.

Telling us that ranch dressing is the worst food he’s ever tried, Drakeo said, “I tried to eat it and I threw up. I tried to eat it someday, maybe it was with some chicken, and I just threw up. That’s when I knew– I knew I didn’t like the smell of it but when I did it that day, it just automatically went up. I couldn’t even swallow it. I do not fuck with ranch.”

That’s not even the only sauce that doesn’t agree with Drakeo. He also told us about an unpleasant experience while eating a lobster roll, finding mayonnaise in it. He immediately spoke to the server and told them that he didn’t want the meal anymore because of the mayo.

Are there any foods that you just can’t tolerate? Watch the new episode of Snack Review above.

6ix9ine’s Security Team Indicted On Robbery, Police Impersonation Charges: Report

According to The Daily Beast, the rapper’s security team  are facing some serious charges after they went on a wild chase in Harlem to find a man who captured footage of 6ix9ine on his cell phone.

The report says that five members of 6ix9ine’s team, which includes a former NYPD police officer, have been indicted on charges of robbery in the first and second degree, as well as first-degree criminal impersonation.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. detailed the alleged criminal actions in a press release, explaining that the rapper’s muscle chased down a 34-year-old with SUVs with flashing lights and sirens, similar to a police vehicle.

The press release says that the man was with his girlfriend when he tried to capture a video of 6ix9ine in the flesh. However, tensions began flaring up once the man filming was spotted by security who yelled at him and chased him as he tried to drive away.

Daniel Leperuta, a retired NYPD detective, is among the defendants involved in the case. He’s accused of using his NYPD personnel identification and attempted to pin the blame on the victim. Laperuta claimed that the victim had attacked them with a firearm. Laperuta is accused of joining the chase before pulling over the victim, opening his car door, unbuckling his seatbelt, and knocking his phone to the ground. Another member of 6ix9ine’s crew is accused of stomping on the device.

As actual police officers made their way to the scene, 6ix9ine’s security had reportedly fled the scene, though Laperuta went to the police afterward where he doubled down on his claims of being threatened. He later retracted his statement once he was pressed by the lieutenant.

“A celebrity entourage is not a police department, and Manhattan is not the Wild West,” Vance wrote in a statement. “As alleged, these highly-compensated vigilantes caravanned through the streets of Harlem with sirens flashing in order to track a man down and steal and break his phone… False reports—especially about firearms—can carry devastating consequences and fortunately, no one was injured or killed in the actual police response.”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Flips Capella Grey’s “Gyalis”

Even though it’s been over a year since A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie unveiled his incredibly lengthy album, Artist 2.0. Its deluxe edition boasted nearly 30 songs in total with appearances from Khalid, Roddy Ricch, Gunna, and more. Boogie might be riding high off of the album’s release, he hasn’t slowed down with new releases. Whether it’s a guest verse or a loose track that randomly pops up on the timeline, A Boogie is still serving up heat at any given moment.

Capella Grey’s single “Gyallis” has been gaining some serious buzz and now, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has now returned with the remix. The Juvenile sample and island flavor is a perfect fit for the rapper who flexes his vocal prowess with lavish flexes.

Peep the record below.

Quotable Lyrics
He thinks he’s that n***a
He’s the reason why she’s on my dick
He’s the reason she switchin’ sides
Please don’t feel ashamed, it’s a cycle
I’ve been places, felt uninvited
Way too many times I’ve been lied to

The Crossover Between Rap And Basketball Showcases Dual Threats On Both Sides

Basketball players and rappers occasionally crossing into one another’s worlds is by no means a new trend. For years, some hoopers have viewed music as an interest to pursue when they’re not out on the hardwood, while rappers have viewed the basketball court as a place to go have some fun in between recording sessions.

In today’s Dime Breakdown, we decided to look at both sides of the coin. We start by highlighting a pair of NBA players who are two of the best on the mic right now. Of course, Damian Lillard is at the top of the NBA’s rap game right now, but there are plenty of other dudes on the come up. One of them, Sacramento Kings youngster Marvin Bagley III, has actually gotten into it with Dame (and, if we can be honest, came up short), but can still hold his own in the booth.

On the other side of things, we highlighted a pair of rappers who have game for days. J. Cole was an easy mention here, as he’s coming off of a spell as a professional basketball player in the Basketball Africa League earlier this year, while NLE Choppa is as bright a star on the court as he is in the studio.
