Boosie Badazz Visits Hotel Where Whitney Houston Died: “Taking Me A Bath”

Eight years ago, the death of Whitney Houston shocked the world. It was in February 2012 when the celebrated singer made appearances ahead of the Grammy Award ceremony, including visiting with Brandy and Monica to rehearse for Clive Davis‘s coveted pre-Grammy gala. Sadly, Houston was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hilton Hotel room, submerged in the bathtub. She was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene.

Houston’s family, friends, and fans have kept her legacy alive through memories and music, and Boosie Badazz recently wanted to share a Houston-inspired moment with his social media followers.

“Taking me a bath,” said Boosie in a video shared on social media. “I’m like, four doors down from the room Whitney Houston died in, so I’m taking me a bath.” The rapper added, “This sh*t legendary. I love Whitney Houston. Four doors down from the room where she died in. So, I’m taking me a bath. Listen to Whitney. T.I.P. Whitney Houston.”

It looked as if Boosie was honoring Whitney Houston in his own way, but not everyone thought that filming himself in a bath was appropriate, especially considering that is how she died. The Louisiana rapper has repeatedly spoken about his love and admiration for Houston, so it doesn’t seem as if his intentions were disrespectful.

Years ago, the Beverly Hilton decided to “retire” the room where Houston passed away because there were too many people requesting the room in order to party there “like Whitney did.” Check out Boosie’s video below.

Nivea Says Lil Wayne Convinced Her To Quit Music, Promised To Take Care Of Her

Nivea and Lil Wayne have a complicated history together. Their story dates back to 2002, around the time Wayne had released 500 Degreez and Nivea was at the height of her career. While the two share a child now, they were once engaged with plans to get married on two separate occasions.

During a recent interview on Kandi Burress’ On The Note, Nivea covered a plethora of topics from her time in the industry as well as how her relationship with Wayne led her to quit her career. She said that Wayne initially tried to do a song with her following the success of “Don’t Mess With My Man” but he admitted later on it was simply to get her number.

She said that the two began dating and things got serious quickly. Eventually, Wayne pushed her towards quitting her career and told her that he would take care of her. “He said, ‘come be with me. I got you,'” Nivea recalled. She said that she eventually sent in a letter to her label revealing that she would be quitting music entirely.

“I’m just sitting there, like, being a housewife… and you know, Reginae for very young,” she said. “All of a sudden — this is kind of funny — he was like, ‘I ain’t never stay in an apartment before. Let’s get an apartment.’ So we move out the house and get an apartment but I never realized he did that to move Toya back in the house.”

Nivea said that Wayne later hosted a birthday party where both and Toya Johnson were present. She said that Wayne gave Toya a lengthy speech and later on, she revealed they had tied the knot.

Megan Thee Stallion Wants Her “Hotties” To Attend College Graduation

Time has flown by these last few years and it seems that Megan Thee Stallion is preparing to graduate from college. The Houston Hottie’s career catapulted back in 2019, and throughout 2020, the rapper found even more success with her Beyoncé collaboration, even in the middle of a COVID-19 pandemic-induced quarantine.

Throughout it all, Megan Thee Stallion has continued with her studies and on Monday (July 12), she suggested that she may have a few fans celebrate her next milestone with her. “I really want some of my hotties to come to my graduation [louding crying face emoji],” wrote Megan.

“My college experience has been a roller coaster!” she added. “I started at PV went to some community colleges in between and I’m ending at TSU. Don’t get discouraged! You can chase your dreams and your education at the same time [clapping hands emoji].” Megan has endured much during her college career; aside from growing into an international, award-winning superstar, she signed a management deal with Roc Nation to further her career, but also mourned the loss of her mother.

We can’t forget the July 2020 incident that has polarized Hip Hop when Megan was shot in the foot. She continues to claim that Tory Lanez is responsible while he adamantly denies the accusations. Check out Megan Thee Stallion’s tweets below.

Nicki Minaj Says Baby Papa Bear Is “Obsessed” With His Grandma

Motherhood has been treating Nicki Minaj well. It has been nine months since the “Seeing Green” rapper gave birth to her baby boy, and as he’s grown, Nicki has been giving the world sneak peeks into what life is like at home with her little “Papa Bear.” Nicki and her husband Kenneth Petty keep their family life out of the limelight somewhat, but during Nicki’s recent Instagram Live session, she shared a bit about being a first-time mom.

The rapper’s Livestream has been the talk of Hip Hop after she appeared with BIA to announce the “Whole Lotta Money (Remix)” and even chatted with longtime friend Lil Wayne, but her Barbz paid close attention to the details Nicki shared about her Papa Bear.

Nicki said that she had doubts that Papa Bear would “love people” and was shocked that he seems to have an outgoing personality. The toddler also has a Day One, his grandma, and he even has a special way of letting grandma know that he wants to be held. “She’s built a really dope bond with him since he was born,” said Nicki. “She’ll pick him up and then he’ll be like, caressing her face, and staring at her like, oh my god, ugh, obsessed.”

As Nicki works on her forthcoming album and has continuously hit the studio to collaborate with other artists, the famed femcee admitted to feeling “guilty” for being away from her son. “To the women that have to get up and go to work every day and leave the baby or put the baby in daycare, God bless you,” she said. “Like I know that that’s not easy.”

Akademiks Doubts Lil Baby & Lil Durk Can Sell Out Joint Tour

There wasn’t a more appropriate title for a tour than “Back Outside” for Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s joint venture. Fresh off of the release of their joint project The Voice Of The Heroes, which debuted atop the Billboard 200, they revealed that they will be hitting the road this fall in their first touring efforts since the pandemic began. Surely, it’ll be one of the biggest hip-hop tours featuring two of the hottest rappers right now.

If there’s one person who doubts the success of Baby and Durk’s venture, it’s DJ Akademiks. The media personality recently sat down for a lengthy conversation with Flagrant 2 podcast where he explained why he doesn’t think the “Back Outside” tour will be a success. In his opinion, the possibilities of Lil Baby and Lil Durk being able to sell out 10,000+ capacity arenas are slim, even with their commercial success.

“Lil Baby’s trying to do arenas about 10,000 to 15,000,” Ak said. “Could you imagine? It’s Baby. They said his tour’s doing bad. You’ll never see him post that his tour is sold out. It’s not selling that much.”

Akademiks then began comparing the potential success of the “Back Outside” tour to Jack Harlow’s venture. He admitted that there’s a chance the pandemic played a role in the ticket sales for Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s tour but he believes they could’ve been able to sell out every arena if they booked smaller venues.

“Jack Harlow’s doing smaller venues. 2,000 [people capacity] venues. Sold out. All them shits sold out,” he continued. “With Baby — as much as you would think if I told you to name five current artists that you think are the biggest, he would be on that list.”

Andrew Schulz disagreed that Baby is among the biggest artists in the world. Schulz said that there’s possibly a disconnect between Baby’s appeal between Black communities and white communities in America which could be a factor in the ticket sales projection.

“I hear certain people within hip-hop say like, ‘Lil Baby is the biggest thing in the world,'” Schulz said. “I can’t speak on behalf of all whites but I have a feeling that Lil Baby is massive among Black people and there’s a huge chasm between white and black people getting on board and that’s your ticket sales slump.”

Jay Critch Drops Off “PC”

It’s only been a few months since Jay Critch blessed fans with the release of Critch Tape which boasted appearances from Jamaica’s rising star Skillibeng, Drakeo The Ruler, Fivio Foreign, and Lil Tjay. However, there’s more in the vault. This week, he unveiled his latest single, “PC” along with an accompanying music video. Critch’s latest single finds him tackling spacey, bass-heavy production with quick wordplay and smooth punchlines through triplet flows and a braggadocious charm.

The rapper’s consistency over the past few years has been shown on every single one of his projects and loose singles that he’s unleashed. Hopefully, he’ll soon follow up Critch Tape with another project but until then, he’s clearly got enough music in the vault to hold fans over.

Check his new track below.
