Logic Gets Inspirational On New Single “Get Up”

After saying “sike” on retirement, Logic has returned to dropping new music at a prolific rate. With a new album — his first since the No I.D-produced No Pressure — Bobby has followed up his “Vaccine” single with “Get Up,” a song that finds him exploring a new musical direction. Though the track title might have hinted at a possible club banger, Logic’s latest is actually far more mellow, a stripped-down blend of acoustic instrumentation and subtle hip-hop percussion.

Over a gentle acoustic guitar arrangement, Logic makes it clear that he has no intention of staying down. “I been down but right now I’m way up,” he sings. “I’m too up like a layup, I walk up in Def Jam like fuck ya’ll, pay up.” It’s evident that Logic has found inner peace, largely due to his family and tight-knit circle of friends. “I can’t even bother to wonder just what my life would’ve been like if I ain’t had the homies right there from the jump,” he ponders, switching gears into a double-time flow. “Would’ve been a fiend, would’ve been a drunk.”

Check out Logic’s new single now, and keep an eye out for more news on his “comeback” album as it surfaces.

I’m thinkin’ about the American dream
I made it from nothing, but what does that mean?
Without a family, without a team, it’s nothing
Denials, I can’t even bother to wonder
Just what my life would’ve been like if I ain’t had the homies right there from the jump
Would’ve been a fiend, would’ve been a drunk

The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber Have A Summer Smash With “Stay”

The Kid LAROI has been teasing his latest record on TikTok for weeks, inviting Justin Bieber over to his world for their second overall collaboration on “Stay.” The track has been picking up a lot of attention on social media as fans predict it’ll be in rotation for months to come, likely sitting comfortably at one of the top spots on the charts for a minute. The Aussie sensation and the Canadian pop star have officially released the full version of their hip-pop single “Stay” and it’s every bit as infectious as you would expect.

These two hitmakers never disappoint, coming through once again with a solid pop offering for the summer. With heartbreak-fueled lyrics that enforce LAROI’s toxic behavior, this one is sure to be heard blaring on the radio for the next little while.

Quotable Lyrics:

I do the same thing I told you that I never would
I told you I’d change, even when I knew I never could
I know that I can’t find nobody else as good as you
I need you to stay, need you to stay

Vince Staples Switches It Up On “The Shining”

Generally, when the work of Stephen King is invoked, one might assume that something sinister might follow. Yet Vince Staples, the visionary emcee hailing from Long Beach California, has always been inclined to subvert expectations. Today, he came through with his brand new self-titled album, a ten-track effort that features production from Kenny Beats. While it’s certainly advised to ride the album out from start to finish, “The Shining” is as good a place to start as any.

For the occasion, Kenny, WahWah James, and Harper Gordon conjure up a whimsical instrumental, an arrangement that’s undeniably soothing. It’s therefore appropriate that Vince Staples kicks it off with a warning: “don’t get murdered.” It’s that exact sort of juxtaposition that makes Vince so fascinating as an artist; his unwillingness to take the obvious route, even if he’s talented enough to shine off the strength of his bars alone. “Ain’t no nerd, I left some enemies on that curb,” he spits, over Kenny’s lullaby production. “I cannot be perturbed, I live out every word I put inside my verse.”

Check out “The Shining” now, and give Vince Staples a spin in its entirety right here.

After reportedly getting caught with over twenty grams of marijuana in a vehicle in Paris, France, rapper Lil Baby and two others were arrested. James Harden was also reportedly caught in the crosshairs of the incident, but the NBA star was not arrested. Shortly following the scary run-in with police overseas on Thursday, Lil Baby has announced that he’s heading back home to the States, thanking fans for checking on him and revealing that he’s officially free.

Drake Spotted On Date With Mystery Lady, Fans Think It’s Amari Bailey’s Mom

Drake keeps his personal life remarkably closed off but the world will always manage to catch up to whatever he’s up to. As Dana White hints that the rapper may be dropping his album this weekend, Drake enjoyed a few moments of quietness as he organized a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a special lady in his life, setting up a lavish dinner on the third baseline of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

We likely wouldn’t have ever known about Drake’s enjoyable evening without ABC helicopter reporter Chris Cristi flying over Dodger Stadium and snapping a few flicks of the recording artist getting cozy with a mystery woman. The photos clearly show the Certified Lover Boy making moves, and fans already think they’ve ID’ed the lady in the photos.

“Thats gotta be Amari Bailey’s mumma,” commented hundreds of fans when the pictures started getting traction online. While that much hasn’t been confirmed, Drake  was spotted getting chatty with the high school basketball player’s mother, Johanna Leia, on the sidelines of a few local games. He’s been attending games with LeBron James to support his son Bronny, who plays on the same team as Amari, but his trips to Sierra Canyon might have been doubly purposed.

Yung Bleu And Big Sean Yearn For A More Intimate Relationship On ‘Way More Close (Stuck In A Box)’

After years of mixtapes and EPs, Yung Bleu earned his breakout moment at the end of last year when Drake dropped a remix of his 2020 track, “You’re Mines Still.” Within weeks, Yung Bleu became a more recognizable name and the “You’re Mines Still” remix would continue to grow in popularity, as it later reached double-Platinum status. Months later, the Alabama native is still on his grind as he gears up to release a brand new project, but before he does so, Yung Bleu called on Big Sean for his latest single, “Way More Close (Stuck In A Box).”

The track finds both acts detailing the struggles in their respective relationships. While things may be hard, neither desire to call it quits, rather, they hope to break out of the bad cycle and do what needs to be done in order to strengthen and boost their relationships.

“Way More Close (Stuck In A Box)” arrives with news that Yung Bleu’s next album, titled Moon Boy, will arrive on July 23. The effort comes equipped with 15 songs and Yung Bleu’s previously released single “The Baddest” with Chris Brown and 2 Chainz.

Dave Delivers A ‘Clash’ With Stormzy On The Lead Single From His Upcoming Album

After two long years, South London native Dave is finally back in action. The rapper hadn’t shared much with fans sine the 2019 release of his debut album, Psychodrama, an effort that was highly celebrated in his hometown as it would take home the Album Of The Year crown at the 2020 BRIT Awards, among other awards. Now, Dave is gearing up to drop his sophomore effort, We’re All Alone In This Together, and he prepares its release with its lead single, “Clash” featuring Stormzy.

The collaboration is a brash effort that finds the two rappers talking highly about themselves and their jewelry, watch, and shoe collections, among other things. Dave even takes a moment to shoot his shot with Jordyn Woods, despite her current relationship with Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns.

In a recent interview with GQ, Dave shared what listeners can expect on We’re All Alone In This Together. “I feel like Psychodrama was me aged zero to 20,” he said. ” Now, I get to go from zero backwards in time and explore stories from before, stuff that led up to the events of the first album: heritage, history, culture, my family, the countries that we come from, the regressive state of humanity in where we are now. Migration is a massive thing for me – boats, freedom of movement.” He added, “The artwork represents that – the journey – all at the same time, as delivering life from the perspective of someone who has just come off the back of all this… It’s a massive change in character.”

You can listen to Dave and Stormzy’s “Clash” above.

We’re All Alone In This Together is out 7/23 via Dave/Neighbourhood Recordings. Pre-order it here.
