Dax Delivers A Celebratory ‘Uproxx Sessions’ Performance Of ‘Dear God’

YouTube star Dax celebrates a milestone on this week’s Uproxx Sessions, as the music video for his deeply personal song “Dear God” crosses over 1 million likes on YouTube. It also has over 35 million views since October 2019. The song, framed as a prayer of sorts from an artist questioning his faith, ponders questions about religion, spirituality, and social issues as they relate to the existence of a benevolent higher power who seems not to mind too much when bad things happen to good people.

Dax also commemorates his second appearance on Uproxx Sessions, returning after performing his socially relevant song “Black Lives Matter” in August of 2020. He’s also a year removed from his 2020 project I’ll Say It For You, released in March.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

What The Heck Are Lizzo, SZA, And Kehlani Up To Together?

It’s not everyday that three of the most popular women in the music industry are seen hanging out together, and when it does happen, it’s fair to speculate that they’re working on a project. That’s exactly what happened this week when Lizzo, SZA, and Kehlani were spotted together all over social media, and fans hope it means that a joint single is on its way.

The three musicians were seen out on the town by paparazzi Wednesday night. They were captured hand-in-hand in West Hollywood leaving a restaurant together. After the paparazzi photos circulated, Lizzo, SZA, and Kehlani got together to film a playful TikTok poking fun at men who try to take salacious selfies.

Shortly after the TikTok was posted to Lizzo’s account, Kehlani shared a selfie of the trio to her Instagram Stories.

Once fans caught wind that the three musicians were spending time together, many began to speculate that a joint project could very well be in the works.

While this may be the first time the three were captured hanging out together, SZA and Lizzo are already good friends. Earlier this week, Lizzo shared an unedited nude selfie to Instagram in order to change “the conversation about beauty standards.” SZA was quick to commend Lizzo for the photo in the comment section, writing: “It’s you having no blemishes at ALL lol .. sigh I jus admire u Fren.”

Bubba Wallace To Receive His Very Own Netflix Docu-Series

Bubba Wallace became a National star last year as the NASCAR driver brought tough discussions about race to a sport that had been mostly associated with the South, for decades. Wallace is the only black driver in the Cup series and while driving for Richard Petty Motorsports, he was able to prove that he can outperform his equipment. He eventually caught the attention of Michael Jordan and fellow driver Denny Hamlin, who created their own team called 23XI Racing, and made Bubba their first driver.

Now, Wallace is in the middle of his very first season with the team and Netflix will be documenting all of it. Netflix announced the new docu-series today and Bubba confirmed the news by giving his own statement on the matter.

You know me…I like to keep things real and raw. Pumped to have @netflix capture these moments to share with you guys,” Bubba wrote on Twitter.

Formula 1 has a similar series with Drive To Survive and so far, the show has been immensely successful for the motorsport. NASCAR has been in need of a similar piece of media and it seems like this new documentary will help fulfil that gap.

It remains to be seen when the docu-series will be released although it will likely happen in 2022.

Post Malone Might Drop Two New Albums This Year

Post Malone has seemingly been working hard in the studio, closing out a number of different projects that he seems to be ready to release sooner than you think. The Hollywood’s Bleeding artist previously hinted that he was working on a “quarantine album” last year, but he opted to hold off on releasing much new music in the last twelve months. As a gift to his fans, Posty appears to be planning a double-release before the year closes out, announcing two new projects through his manager.

Dre London, Post Malone’s manager, just posted a new picture on social media where he explained why he’s feeling so chipper today. He didn’t just close a massive deal… and he didn’t just win the lottery… however, he apparently just got off the phone with Post Malone, who agreed that it was time to drop some new music.

“Some would say thats the smile when the wire hits! But for me this isn’t true! It’s even bigger than that,” wrote London as his caption. “This that smile while on FaceTime with @postmalone agreeing that the world deserves 2 Posty projects out this year! Discussing dates to drop the 1st one sooner than u think! I won’t tell u the title name just yet maybe next week.”

This is amazing news for Post Malone’s legion of supporters, which continues growing with each of his full-length releases. Hollywood’s Bleeding has been his biggest success to date. Do you think he can out-class himself on one of the next two?

Stay tuned for more information on Posty’s next moves.

Fivio Foreign Arrested On Multiple Charges In New Jersey: Report

New York rapper Fivio Foreign was reportedly arrested and charged with possession of a firearm for unlawful purposes, resisting arrest, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a firearm without the required permit, and more.

The “Big Drip” rapper was reportedly taken into custody after evading the police in New Jersey. Fivi, whose real name is Maxie Ryles III, reportedly left his car running in a no-parking zone as he walked into a Citibank on Wednesday evening. An officer was standing by his car when he returned, which is when the rapper was asked to hand over his driver’s license. Fivio did not comply and simply walked away, according to a report from Daily Voice. The officer stayed with his car while one of his partners caught up to the jaywalking rapper nearby. He allegedly ignored all requests to stop walking away before officer Gabriel Avella grabbed him in a parking garage. At that point, a loaded handgun fell to the ground from Fivio’s waistband.

YG And Mozzy Form A California Connection In Their ‘Bompton To Oak Park’ Video

Two of California’s most prolific gangsta rap purveyors connect in the video for “Bompton To Oak Park,” as Sacramento’s Mozzy invites Compton’s YG up north for a good, old-fashion gangsta party. Throughout the video, the two rappers proudly rock their colors and throw their respective signs, while rhyming about the virtues and vices of street life in the Golden State.

As yet, “Bompton To Oak Park” doesn’t have an official full-length release attached, but the video for the track has been hotly anticipated among locals since they were glimpsed shooting scenes for it in Mozzy’s hometown. The song marks their eighth collaboration, the most recent ones landing on the two rappers’ respective 2018 releases. First, Mozzy appeared on YG’s Stay Dangerous track “Too Brazy,” then, YG returned the favor on “Thugz Mansion” from Mozzy’s Gangland Landlord.

The two rappers have been busy individually since then, with Mozzy dropping three albums: 2019’s Internal Affairs, and two albums in 2020, Beyond Bulletproof and Occupational Hazard. Mozzy promoted the latter with the single “Death Is Callin.”

Meanwhile, YG completed the terms of his deal with 2019’s 4Real 4Real and 2020’s My Life 4Hunnid, launching his 4Hunnid Records venture with Epic Records and releasing the first compilation, Gang Affiliated, in March this year.

Cordae Gives A Tour Of His Old Neighborhood In The Sentimental ‘More Life’ Video

It’s been nearly six months since Cordae last graced fans with new music, but that all changed Thursday with the release of his four-track EP Just Until, which is meant to hold fans over until his next album’s release. To celebrate the EP’s debut, Cordae went back to his hometown to go to some of the places that shaped his youth in a video to his Q-Tip-featuring track “More Life.”

Throughout the “More Life” visual, Cordae takes a tour of his old neighborhood. He revisits his former apartment and walks through the halls of his old middle school and college, which he dropped out of. All the while, Cordae runs into grateful fans, snaps a few photos, reminisces on the days of his youth, and offers words of advice for staying true to yourself and following your dreams.

The visual concluded with Cordae receiving some wise words from Q-Tip over the phone. “I get the light from you, you get the light from me, we give it to each other and we give it to the world. That’s what it’s supposed to be,” Q-Tip says, to which Cordae replies, “Yeah, that’s some bars.”
