Air Jordan 1 High OG “Pollen” Release Date Confirmed

Big fans of the Air Jordan 1 High OG have been well-fed over the years thanks to a plethora of new colorways. Of all the Jumpman silhouettes out there, the Air Jordan 1 is the shoe that gets the most new offerings, and fans wouldn’t have it any other way. This is one of those shoes that go well with every single outfit you might try on, and moving forward, it is very likely that this sneaker will never die. It is truly timeless and Jordan Brand is well-aware of this.

The next Air Jordan 1 High OG on tap for the brand is the often-teased “Pollen” colorway which can be found in the photos below. The shoe has a mostly black leather base as the shade is placed on the side panels and the toe box. From there, all of the overlays, including the Nike swoosh, are yellow. All of these elements come together to create a dope model that is definitely going to be flashy on your feet.

After months of uncertainty, the release date for these has been confirmed for Saturday, August 14th. The shoe will release for $170 USD and will be available through the SNKRS App. Let us know what you think, in the comments below.

The DaBaby Remix Of Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’ Is Still Near The Top Of The Charts Despite Fewer Radio Plays

The backlash to DaBaby’s controversial HIV/AIDS comments at Rolling Loud a couple weekends ago (for which he only just apologized today) has been severe, as he’s been dropped from multiple festival lineups and dragged by many of his peers in music. Dua Lipa, who recruited DaBaby to join her on the “Levitating” remix, said she was “surprised and horrified” by the things DaBaby said on stage.

Since the controversy, music curators have started phasing the DaBaby version of “Levitating” off of playlists and radio airplay, but in spite of that, the song is still doing quite well on the charts. On the new Hot 100 dated August 7, the “Levitating” remix is at No. 5, a slight drop from its spot at No. 3 last week. The Rolling Loud incident happened on July 25, which was a few days into the tracking week reflected on the latest chart, July 23 to 29.

Billboard reports that remix saw a 12-percent drop in plays compared to the solo version of the song last week, noting, “On July 25, 71% of its plays was via the remix; on July 29, the last day of the tracking week, the share dropped to 59%.”

If the solo version of “Levitating” ends up becoming the most prominent version of the song in terms of charting activity, it is possible for DaBaby’s credit to be removed from “Levitating” as it appears on the Hot 100 and other charts. A similar thing happened last year when Nicki Minaj was removed from the Hot 100 listing for Doja Cat’s “Say So.” Billboard explained at the time, “After two weeks of Minaj showing as a featured artist on ‘Say So’ on the Hot 100 and other charts that utilize the same methodology, only Doja Cat is now listed, as the original version, without Minaj, is now driving the majority of overall activity for the song; the change does not affect any of Minaj’s achievements on those charts the past two weeks, and she continues not to be credited on the song on any airplay charts, as the vast majority of the song’s airplay is still for the original version.”

Yung Miami Exposes Her Texts With JT & Sparks Astrology Debate On Twitter

City Girls recently revealed that they are officially in album mode. One would expect that Yung Miami and JT would be in close contact while creating their highly anticipated follow-up to last summer’s City On Lock, but according to leaked text messages between the two femcees, they haven’t been communicating enough.

In a recent tweet, Yung Miami put her friend and close collaborator on blast by sharing their text messages, and in the screenshot, you can see that Yung Miami has repeatedly reached out to JT over text, questioning why she isn’t calling her or checking up on her. JT responds to her playfully by essentially telling her to chill out or by reassuring her that she will give her a call.

Many of her fans took the situation lightly by replying with a bevy of laughing emojis, but others took Yung Miami’s tweet as an opportunity to explore the City Girls rapper’s astrology chart. Several Twitter users pointed out that Yung Miami‘s text messages were the textbook definition of an Aquarius. Other fans were less worried about the City Girls rapper’s zodiac sign and were far more intrigued by Yung Miami’s phone battery and JT’s grammatical errors.

Check out the Twitter reactions to Yung Miami’s seemingly clingy tendencies below.

Kanye West’s Yeezy Day Leads To A Frustrating Number Of Ls

Kanye West has a massive week ahead of him as he is gearing up for the release of his latest album DONDA. There is no guarantee the album actually comes out this week although fans remain cautiously optimistic that he will, indeed, come through. Kanye is also one of the biggest influencers in the sneaker game, and his Yeezy brand has made him a multi-billionaire. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the artist is celebrating Yeezy Day with a plethora of new sneaker restocks.

Yeezy Day began at 7 AM EST this morning and fans were immediately blessed with a new pair of Foam Runners, as well as restocks of classic Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 and 700 colorways. For the most part, these colorways were all offerings that fans had been clamoring to have back, and for some lucky consumers, Yeezy Day turned into an event full of glee and new heat.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of sneakerheads weren’t so lucky. With the releases going down on Yeezy Supply and the Adidas website, would-be consumers ran into some massive issues as the websites were simply overrun by fans. It became extremely hard to grab anything, and in the end, bots got the better of the event leaving various fans confused and angered by their Ls.

What happened today is eerily reminiscent of what typically happens during Nike SNKRS drops. These events usually lead to frustration, and when it comes to Ye, fans shouldn’t have expected any of these shoes to come easy.

You can check out what people had to say about Yeezy Day, below.

LiAngelo Ball To Join Hornets Summer League Team

LaVar Ball is easily one of the best promoters in the history of basketball, and it’s not even close. When Lonzo was in college, LaVar was making some wild claims about his oldest son’s talent and how he would be the next Magic Johnson. When it comes to LiAngelo and LaMelo, LaVar brought that same energy to the table, although in the case of LiAngelo, it never really manifested into anything. It was believed that LiAngelo would be drafted by the Lakers although it never came. From there, LiAngelo had a small stint with the Detroit Pistons, but that never manifested in anything either.

Since that time, LiAngelo has been looking for a new NBA home, preferably alongside one of his brothers. With Lonzo headed to free agency and LaMelo balling out on the Hornets, it was only a matter of time before a team would take a waiver on the middle brother.

Well, that’s exactly what has happened as it was revealed today by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated that LiAngelo would be signing to the Charlotte Hornets’ Summer League team. Now, he will get to show off his talents in Vegas, and if he does a good enough job, he could be playing alongside his brother on the Hornets next season.

A LaMelo and LiAngelo partnership would be pretty amazing as it would mean more screen time for LaVar Ball at Hornets games. The Ball family patriarch knows how to get fans hyped up, and he would do a great job doing crowd control in Charlotte.

DaBaby Finally Apologizes For His ‘Hurtful And Triggering Comments’ A Week Later

DaBaby has been in the music industry doghouse since making comments about HIV/AIDS at Rolling Loud last weekend. Usually, when somebody says something that’s met with wide and instant backlash, they realize the error of their ways and issue an immediate apology. Instead, DaBaby went more in the direction of digging his heels into the ground and lashing out at those who shared negative opinions about his actions.

Now, finally, over a week later, DaBaby has offered an apology. Sharing an image of text on social media, he wrote:

“Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes. As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me — knowing that what I needed was education on these topics and guidance — has been challenging. I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed and it was received.

I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.

– DaBaby.”

In some respects, this apology came too late, as he has already been removed from the lineups of Governor’s Ball, Day N Vegas, and Lollapalooza.
