South African Fans Drag Jorja Smith Over Her New Song “All Of This”

Jorja Smith started her summer by releasing the incredible eight-track project Be Right Back. Featuring tracks like “Gone,” “Addicted,” and “Bussdown,” Be Right Back served as her first body of work since her critically acclaimed debut album Lost & Found in 2018, and it signaled an exciting new chapter in her career.

Jorja Smith’s momentum from earlier this summer may be simmering down, however, as her latest release, a single with GuiltyBeatz titled “All Of This,” is starting to pick up traction on social media and attract a lot of negative attention.

“He’s so wonderful to work with and when we initially started the song, it was more a fall to the floor type beat,” Jorja explained while recounting the making of “All Of This” alongside GuiltyBeatz. “He’s shared Amapiano playlists with me before and then during the first lockdown in 2020, he sent me a version of the song like it is now. We then finished writing the song remotely, exchanging messages over WhatsApp with his girlfriend Abby who is also a writer. It’s all about someone who doesn’t deserve you and thinking wow, you really had all of my once, ew.”

Since its release, HNHH users have so far given “All Of This” a bleak rating of “Meh,” and it appears that several South African fans and people more familiar with the Ampiano genre are in agreeance. Apparently, many fans view the UK artist’s attempt at Ampiano as disgraceful and flat-out unimpressive. Thus, fans have subsequently started dragging Jorja on Twitter.

One user argued that Jorja’s new song is the perfect example for why international genres benefit from gatekeeping, saying, “Jorja smith is already on the cover of spotify for amapiano, with her fake amapiano song.” Other Twitter users who simply don’t care for Jorja Smith’s music at all have also opted to hop in on the conversation, offering crass takes like, “Jorja Smith is one of the most versatile artists of our generation, she’s trash in every genre she does.”

See for yourself all of the negative attention that Jorja Smith has been receiving on Twitter following the release of “All Of This.”

Yo Gotti & Team ROC Partner To Cover Funeral & Autopsy Costs For Parchman Inmate

Yo Gotti and Team ROC are partnering to cover the funeral and autopsy expenses for Chadarion Henderson, who was found dead at the Parchman prison in Mississippi after reportedly telling his mother that he “feared for his life.” A press release stated that Henderson appeared to have hanged himself.

Gotti explained in a statement to Complex that he plans to cover the family funeral expenses, while Team ROC will be porividing funding for an independent doctor to conduct a full autopsy.

“Chadarion Henderson’s unexplained death inside Parchman is the latest example of how that prison continues to fail to protect its incarcerated population,” Gotti said. “My heart goes out to the Henderson family. They deserve sympathy and an opportunity to get closure. I’m committed to doing my part to cover the family’s funeral expenses and make sure Chadarion is remembered by his loved ones in a respectable and dignified way.”

Henderson was booked for nonresidential burglary last year and was set to be released on Oct. 26, 2024.

“The Henderson family deserves immediate answers regarding the circumstances around Chadarion’s sudden death as a 26-year-old,” Team ROC Managing Director Dania Diaz said in a statement. “The lack of clarity and accountability is appalling and it’s no coincidence that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has averaged eight deaths per month since Dec. 2019. This is an absolute tragedy.”

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is currently conducting an investigation into Henderson’s death.

Ms. Lauryn Hill Snaps On Nas’ New Album: Twitter Reacts

Nas just released the sequel to his 2019 project King’s Disease today, featuring guest appearances from Eminem, Lauryn Hill, Hit-Boy, A Boogie, and more. One track in particular that fans have gravitated to and are already talking about is that reunion of Lauryn Hill and Nas, who gave us the smash hit “If I Ruled The World” back in 1996. Now, the two hip hop icons keep it honest and give us depth on the new collab “Nobody,” which has left fans quite impressed with Lauryn Hill’s insane wordplay and brilliant lyricism.

“Let me give it to you balanced and with clarity / I don’t need to turn myself into a parody / I don’t do the shit you do for popularity,” she raps.

Elsewhere, Ms. Lauryn Hill let listeners know that she’s aware of all the chattering going on in regards to her tardiness, but she’s too busy saving lives. “My awareness like Keanu in ‘The Matrix’ / I’m saving souls and y’all complaining about my lateness.”

She continues… “See me in my freedom taking all my land back/ They sent a lot against me thinking I’d just stand back/ I got my legs beneath me, I got my hands back/ A lot of people sabotaged, they couldn’t stand that.

Listen to the song and her insane verse (below).

Since its release, fans have been taking to social media to praise Ms. Lauryn Hill for her bars, with mostly everyone in unison agreeing that she straight up snapped. “No matter who’s dropping tonight, Nas and Lauryn Hill getting the first listen,” one person said, while another added, “Nas got Lauryn Hill rapping in 2021…rapping rapping fr……my eyes teary man.”

While Mercedes-Benz Stadium did their best to help West’s fans have access to the vaccine, West has previously criticized the vaccination effort, saying that “they want to put chips inside of us.”

“It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed… So when they say the way we’re going to fix COVID is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious,” he told Forbes, last year. “They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven.”

The event was attended by West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian, whom many of the rapper’s verses referenced. As of now, it is still unconfirmed exactly when Donda will hit streaming services, but with West, anything is possible.

Abstract Mindstate Taps Kanye West For Dramatic Album Cut “The Brenda Song”

Yes, for the third time in a row, Kanye West has not dropped his highly anticipated tenth studio album on the date that he previously confirmed it would be released on. However, that does not mean that fans of Mr. West haven’t been treated to new music from the evasive DONDA artist. In fact, fans of Kanye’s 2000s-era output will be thrilled to learn that he has produced every song on the legendary Chicago Hip-Hop duo Abstract Mindstate’s comeback album Dreams Still Inspire.

In addition to serving as the executive producer for Olskool Ice-Gre and E.P Da Hellcat’s first album together in decades, Kanye also makes a surprise appearance on the project’s penultimate track, “The Brenda Song.”

The short track falls under three minutes, and although it doesn’t feature a full verse from Yeezy, “The Brenda Song” boasts dramatic production, an uplifting hook from Kanye West, and expertly penned verses from both members of Abstract Mindstate.

Quotable Lyrics

Spirit down, my diction open, pit of fire, sea of smoke
Pullin’ from a place that’s broken, glued together, that’s the notion
I will only spew the truth, be the light, teach the youth
The basement days over now, far from when I claimed uncool

Rihanna Goes On Shopping Spree With A$AP Rocky After Reaching Billionaire Status

Rihanna was spotted on a shopping spree in New York City, Wednesday, after Forbes announced that the Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty business mogul officially reached billionaire status. She was joined by A$AP Rocky, who she was been dating for several months.

The two hit up the Hat Club in NoHo, Forbidden Planet by Union Square, and several other spots before stopping for dinner at Wo Hop in Chinatown. Page Six reports that the restaurant owner did not recognize Rihanna and asked her to eat outside as the indoor area was full.

When asked by a reporter how it felt to be the “richest female musician,” Rihanna responded, “God is good.”

Forbes reported that Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion dollars, despite not releasing a new album since 2016’s Anti. Most of her wealth comes from her aforementioned companies Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty.

In the wake of the Forbes piece, many fans online celebrated her success, praising her for her hard work, while others accused Rihanna of exploiting her workers’ for the surplus value of their labor and referenced allegations that Fenty Beauty uses child labor in India.

Abstract Mindstate’s “Dreams Still Inspire” Is A Masterclass In Hip-Hip Fundamentals

While Hip-Hop fans continue to express their frustration with Kanye West’s long-delayed tenth studio album DONDA, his fans do owe him credit for following through with another major release. A couple of weeks ago, Kanye’s fledgling offshoot, YZY SND, was officially confirmed, and it was revealed that the legendary Chicago Hip-Hop duo Abstract Mindstate would be its debut release.

True to YZY SND’s word, Abstract Mindstate’s first album since splitting up in 2005, titled Dreams Still Inspire, has finally arrived, reuniting Olskool Ice-Gre and E.P Da Hellcat over Kanye West production.

Three years after the unforgettable 2018 run in which Yeezy executive produced albums for Pusha T, Nas, Valee, and Teyana Taylor, Kanye West has returned to the helm of executive producer, but Abstract Mindstate’s Dreams Still Inspire falls closer in line with Ye’s early 2000s producer output like Common’s 2005 classic Be. With lyrics and production that perfectly complement each other, Abstract Mindstate’s reunion album is a masterclass in Hip-Hop fundamentals.

According to a press release, Olskool got a call on random Tuesday morning in 2018 that Ye wanted to reunite Abstract Mindstate for a full album on YZY SND, and within days, both he and E.P — who had switched careers and became a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst — were back in the thick of it, working on what would eventually become Dreams Still Inspire.
