Casanova Wants To Know What Others Would Do In His Shoes

Just before the holidays, the FBI issued a warrant for Casanova’s arrest in connection to guns and racketeering charges. The rapper’s accused of being an active member of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation. Authorities claimed that he was “trafficking cocaine and marijuana.” He’s maintained his innocence throughout this entire ordeal but still, he was denied bond.

His team has been communicating messages on his behalf as he remains behind bars. The rapper’s shared a few thoughts for his fans, especially when it comes to staying down and loyalty. This week, the rapper took to Twitter where he, once again, maintained his innocence but he had a message for his fans: What would you do in his shoes?

“I always told myself l was never going back to jail…since I’m innocent l turned myself in what would u have done if u was in my shoes???…Comment below,” he tweeted. Some people suggested that they would’ve done the race like Tay-K while others went on to either question how he managed to get his hands on a phone or accuse him of snitching, though there’s no substance either of these allegations.

“You’re a street dude asking the opinion of internet weirdos that never jaywalked across a street. Go with your heart and mind. Stay blessed you will get through this,” one fan wrote before more fans offered positive messages and encouragement for Cas during this time. Peep some of the responses below.

Nia Riley Says Soulja Boy Kicked Her Stomach While She Was Pregnant

Soulja Boy is in the news today because of his Twitter beef with WWE star Randy Orton, but he’s also mentioned in headlines for something much more serious. Nia Riley, the rapper’s longtime girlfriend, has said that her miscarriage was caused by Soulja Boy after he kicked her in the stomach while she was pregnant.

In a new preview clip of Nia Riley’s upcoming interview with blogger Tasha K, the Love & Hip Hop star confirms that her rapper boyfriend caused her miscarriage by physically attacking her.

“We had an incident when I was pregnant. I feel like we always did,” said Riley in the video. “He absolutely knew I was pregnant,” she continues after the interviewer brings up her miscarriage. “I was, like, fifteen weeks. I don’t think I had even told anybody else that I was pregnant. Truthfully, in my mind, I didn’t know what to do or what I wanted to do.”

Nia says that she suffered the miscarriage on the same night that Soulja Boy kicked her.

The full episode is set to air on Tuesday night, where Nia Riley will surely offer more details as to what happened, as well as more about her relationship with Soulja. If you’re familiar with Tasha K, you know she asks the tough questions.

Royce Da 5’9″ & Joe Budden Reunite In The Studio

There’s no telling if and when Joe Budden will ever turn his back on retirement and follow the siren song of the rap game. Perhaps the oddsmakers can paint a more detailed picture. In any case, that hasn’t stopped fans of Jumpoff Joey from holding out hope, especially as he continues to tease an eventual return to the booth. Perhaps that time is coming sooner than later, as the media mogul recently took a trek down to Detroit to catch up with his former groupmate Royce Da 5’9.

Royce took to Instagram to share a picture of his reunion with Budden, which took place at his own Heaven Studios. Though the nature of the meeting wasn’t shared, Royce did tease that “This gon cost you extra,” perhaps alluding to the recent partnership Joe Budden struck with Patreon. In that case, expect the pair to be engaging in a conversation at the very least, a prospect that should prove exciting given their shared history as collaborators.

Aside from sharing a common appreciation for spitting bars, both Royce and Joe are particularly passionate about the topic of mental health. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the pair discuss their own experiences with battling mental health struggles, should their conversation ultimately lead them down that road. Of course, it’s entirely possible that Budden is merely swinging by Detroit to catch up with an old friend, though between the picture and Royce’s caption, it does feel like something bigger is afoot.

Check out the picture below, and should you be interested in more from Royce, remember that he’ll be performing in the I Play Forever Live eConcert on March 11th, an event held in partnership with Monster Energy and Yoop. Tickets for that are available for purchase here.

Quavo Declares Quarantine Is Over

For most Americans, we are slowly approaching our first full-year of quarantine, poised to continue on into a second year. With the federal government under former POTUS Trump failing to enact widespread national precautions early-on before the pandemic reached its severity, many are hoping Biden will ramp up the federal response. Considering the gross-negligence of the federal government in dealing with COVID-19, placing the blame on individuals is beginning to be a useless fight. Regardless, there is still a standard of COVID-19 friendly behavior people should follow until we are fully in the clear. Quavo doesn’t seem to fully agree with this, however.

Seemingly over the strict COVID-19 precaution state of the world, the Migos’ rapper had a different idea he believes everyone should get behind. Rocking a cap, jeans, and a hoodie while posing at a monument in front of a Mercedes-Benz retailer in the city, the rapper told his followers to, “Come To Atlanta.” He then declared, “Quarantine Canceled.”

While likely penned satirically, there is partially some truth to Quavo’s irresponsible declaration. A number of states have moved forward with rolling back on previously set restrictions as the second-wave subsides and substantial progress in vaccination efforts continues to be made.

Atlanta has particularly been a place with freer restrictions throughout the pandemic, with many stars and influencers coming under fire for their packed, maskless celebrations thrown all throughout quarantine.

What do you guys think of Quavo suggesting quarantine is over? Let us know in the comments.

Kodak Black Gets Another Win In Court

Kodak Black is putting together a string of legal wins following his release from prison. The Florida-area rapper was among the dozens of people pardoned by President Donald Trump on his final day in office, having his sentence commuted. The 23-year-old has been having the time of his life post-release, getting engaged to fellow rapper Mellow Rackz, releasing a few new songs, and enjoying his freedom. He’s about to start enjoying himself even more too because, on Tuesday, it was revealed that Kodak will be allowed to travel for work, being granted permission from the judge.

According to TMZ, a federal judge has approved Kodak’s motion to be able to travel across the country for work appearances as long as he lets them know where he’s headed. The rapper will need to provide a complete itinerary during his travel, including the addresses of any hotels he will be staying at. Of course, it was also specified that he needs to stay out of trouble during his trips.

Kodak’s lawyers filed the motion and stated that the artist would like to travel to continue his charitable spree since being released from prison, doing community work around the country in areas he’s connected to. He will likely also be hitting club appearances and performances.

Congratulations to Kodak on yet another legal win. Hopefully, this continues for the young rapper who has been derailed countless times.

Playboi Carti Tells Kid Cudi His Style Is Inspired By Vampire Movies

When it comes to audacious looks and styles, the biggest boundary pusher in hip-hop right now is arguably Playboi Carti. The Atlantan ad-lib master has delighted fans and befuddled foes with his unconventional looks, the inspirations of which he detailed to Kid Cudi in a conversation for Interview Magazine. While the punk-rock influences are pretty obvious, he says he gets inspiration from another unusual source, as well: Vampire movies.

“I’m a big, big, fan of punk artists like Sid Vicious,” he tells the elder rapper. “I just feel like my lifestyle is so rocked out. This is the lifestyle I live, and I ain’t no damn poser.” Prompted to elaborate on his fashion choices by Cudi, Carti explains, “This shit that I do is not just for the ’gram. It’s not just to make people think I’m weird. This is really me. I get a lot of my inspiration from vampire movies because when you see a vampire, he always looks good. He don’t age. He can’t die. He’s beautiful. I won Best Dressed in high school. That’s what I was on. I did the streetwear sh*t. Now let’s see if I can pop this sh*t that they’re wearing on the runway. If it’s a challenge, I’m doing it.”

He also explains how he comes up with his unorthodox raps on albums like Whole Lotta Red: “Everything is freestyle,” he says. “Shout out Lil Wayne. I use whatever I bring with me that day. If something is stressing me out, I’ll come to dish that. If I’ve been hanging around my street, I’ll make street sh*t that day. No matter the vibe of that day, that’s how I come.”

Playboi Carti Raves About Kanye West To Kid Cudi: “He Opened My Eyes”

Playboi Carti dropped off his second studio album Whole Lotta Red last Christmas. While initially provoking mixed reactions from fans, a few songs from the album have been finding relative success among audiences, namely the Art Dealer produced cut “Sky.” The 24-year-old Atlanta native sat down with Kid Cudi recently in an interview published Monday (March 1) to reflect on the album, namely working with Kanye West, who executive produced the project. He also touched on how he views himself as a “full rock-star” now.

When asked about what it was like working with Kanye by Cudi, Carti immediately praised the hip-hop veteran. “Kanye is the OG. He opened my eyes to some sh*t,” he raved. “When I got around him, I realized why I love him so much. You get what I’m saying? When I get around you, I realize why I love you so much. I even appreciate Ye for introducing me and you,” he added, praising Cudi as well.

He added, “Being able to talk to somebody who understands what I’m saying, I got that from his whole camp. I felt that energy from everybody he deals with. I didn’t feel like a loner. The world I’m trying to build, he already got it going on. Ye is on this king vamp shi*. Cudi is on this king vamp sh*t. Y’all already on that.” Cudi then asked the “Vamp Anthem” artist if he considered himself a rapper or, “something else entirely?”

“Full rock-star. Hip-hop is my category, for sure, but I’m full rock-star,” Carti declared in response. He added that there’s no cap on who can bump his music.

“I make music for people who feel themselves. I make music for models. I make music for young n*ggas in high school trying to get a new girlfriend. I make music for a young nigga before his basketball game in the locker room. I make music for a motherfucker who got down smoking too much weed and now he’s in his head about sh*t. I make music for all of them. There’s no lid on my sh*t,” he continued.

He also talked to the “Tequila Shots” artist about only including three features on the entire 24-track run of WLR, which he chalked up to being the only three people he’s trying to impress. “I got Future, I got Cudi, I got Ye. I’m f*cking with the originals, the motherf*cking godfathers of this sh*t. Who else you need on the album after that?” he said.
