Mozzy Puts In Work On “Tycoon”

Today, Cali rapper Mozzy came through and delivered his brand new album Untreated Trauma, itself a powerful statement in itself. With the entire project available to stream right here — featuring guest appearances from EST Gee, Babyface Ray, E. Mozzy, Kalan.FrFr, Celly Ru, and YFN Lucci — it feels appropriate to single out one of the solo highlights, “Tycoon.”

Over a vibey West coast instrumental, Mozzy lets fly a steady stream of rhymes. “Cussin out my bitch hardly ever sober,” he raps, over the off-kilter synthesizers. “I be cussin out my n***a he done sold the blower / Theodork, suckaz out her loafin’ we gon’ blow his motor / old-ass trey five-seven you got deserve a holster.”

It’s a simple and effective dose of hard-hitting bars from one of the West’s most consistent, so be sure to check out “Tycoon” right here and now.

Quotable Lyrics

I be cussin out my n***a he done sold the blower
Theodork, suckaz out her loafin’ we gon’ blow his motor

Clippers Reveal The Name Of Their New Stadium

Steve Ballmer and the Clippers have big plans for the future as they are in the midst of delivering a brand new stadium that is set to be ready for the 2024-25 season. This arena is going to be in Inglewood and it will finally allow for the Clippers to have their own home outside of the Staples Center. Everyone knows that the Staples Center is the home of the Lakers, and it was about time the Clippers leave.

The concept photos for this new arena are quite impressive as there will be various fan experiences that are part of the arena’s expansive size. When all is said and done, it could very well be one of the nicest arenas in professional sports.

Recently, Ballmer made some big announcements related to the new arena. For instance, the team has signed a 23-year naming rights deal with a tech company called Intuit. Moving forward, the Clippers’ arena will be referred to as Intuit Dome, and it is something that Ballmer is undeniably excited about.

“When we began the search for a partner for the L.A. Clippers and our new dome, we looked for one that shares our passion for technology, the pursuit of innovation and our commitment to customers, fans and community,” Ballmer explained. “Intuit is a perfect fit, and we’re excited to be calling our future home the Intuit Dome.”

If you are a Clippers fan, there is a lot to be excited about here. This arena is about to cost $1.8 billion, and hopefully, the final result will be well worth every penny.

Jermaine Dupri Responds To Diddy’s “Your Arms Too Short” Verzuz Jab

After Fat Joe and Ja Rule squared off in a Verzuz battle Tuesday night, two more hip-hop legends got into the mix, but in a very different way.

While Joe and Ja went back and forth and brought out guests like Remy Ma, Ashanti and Nelly to back them up, Atlanta rapper, producer and label executive Jermaine Dupri took to Twitter to let Diddy know two things: first, Dupri let Diddy (and the world) know that he was in front of Madison Square Garden and second, that if Diddy wanted to take Dupri in a Verzuz battle, he was going to have to do some training first.

(This is not Dupri’s first time calling out Diddy to do a Verzuz against him, either. Last year, Dupri swore he would “break the internet” if Puff ever accepted his challenge to battle.)

Diddy, being the ever-confident hip-hop overlord that he is, brushed Dupri off in one of the most backhanded compliments Twitter has ever seen. Tweeting, “Beloved you my n****a but your arms too short to box with God!!!,” the Bad Boy head honcho wrote. “You aiint got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary . But I do have the upmost respect on you as a musical legend – Dre the only one can get in the ring with me . – LOVE.”

In a way that only Sean Combs could, Diddy praised and also wildly disrespected Dupri in a single tweet.

Naturally, the internet was set ablaze with commenters arguing the validity of Diddy’s bold claim and today, Dupri has finally responded.

In a Tik Tok showing the ATL mogul *actually* producing a beat, Dupri let Diddy know that his arms are long enough to make beats all day. Posted on Instagram with the caption “Let’s see what happens next,” followed by the eyes emoji, it seems that Dupri is taking a shot at Diddy for not making beats like that.

Whether or not Dupri’s comeback is enough to get Diddy to accept his Verzuz challenge is yet to be seen but the more important question is this: if that Verzuz battle does happen — who’s winning? Diddy has a whole lot of Bad Boy records to choose from but Dupri isn’t just anybody and has hits of his own. If Diddy/Dupri ever actually happens, how’s it going to end up? Let us know in the comments.

D Smoke And His Brother SiR Wonder What ‘Common Sense’ Costs In A Soulful New Single

Earlier this week, D Smoke announced the title and release date of his upcoming second album, War & Wonders, after releasing a pair of singles in 2021 that built anticipation for a follow-up to his Grammy-nominated debut, Black Habits. In January, he started the long-play rollout with the video for “It’s OK,” then held back on releasing “Shame On You” until August, with its video following this month.

However, it seems now that the announcement is official, he’s not waiting to put out new music. He did so today in the form of “Common Sense,” a jazzy, introspective single that questions “Who you working for? / What you represent?” Smoke’s brother, TDE singer SiR, also appears to a plaintive chorus wondering, “What’s the price we pay for common sense?” And although the title’s parallel to the rapper who formerly went by Common Sense is probably a coincidence, D Smoke actually just performed with the Chicago legend, posting pics from the event on his Instagram.

In addition to the singles promoting his new album, D Smoke also released a handful of commercial singles this year, including the Last Chance U theme “Basketball,” the Spotify Sessions single “Sade,” and a feature verse on Nigerian artist Fireboy DML’s “Champion.”

Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner “Ochre” Release Date Revealed

Kanye West’s Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner continues to be one of those shoes that baffles people. On the surface, it shouldn’t be all that fashionable. It looks like a futuristic laundry hamper that can be worn on your feet, and despite this, it goes surprisingly well with various outfits. As a result, every single colorway has sold out with ease, and Ye continues to drop new offerings.

One of the latest models to be shown off is this monochromatic “ochre” colorway which can be found below. As you can see, this model contains a light brown aesthetic that is sure to pop during the Fall months. The Yeezy brand loves offering up neutral colorways and this is a model that fits squarely within that trend. Of course, not everyone is going to find these appealing although if you’ve bought into the Yeezy hype, then you are probably going to enjoy these at least a little bit.

The release date for these has been set for Saturday, September 18th with just so happens to be tomorrow. They can be found on the Confirmed App for a price of $80 USD and will most likely be limited. Let us know what you think of these, in the comments below.

Zombie Juice & Smoke DZA Hit The “VMA’s”

It’s been a minute since the Flatbush Zombies put in work as a united front, but that doesn’t mean they’ve been inactive on the musical tip. Today, Zombie Juice has come through with a new single — produced by fellow group-mate Erick The Architect — enlisting Smoke DZA for “VMA’s.”

Speaking on the track in a press release, Zombie Juice explained his motivation behind his latest single, maintaining that it was high time he received due credit. “MTV has nothing to do with it,” he states. “There’s no awards being giving out, but we deserve our flowers for our years of contributions in the cannabis and music industries.”

Be sure to give the man his props accordingly, and should you need a little nudge, look no further than the delightfully trippy duet from two solid and well-rounded emcees. Check out “VMA’s” now, and sound off with your appreciation for the Flatbush Zombies movement below.

Bam Margera’s Wife Nicole Boyd Files For Custody Of Their Son, But Doesn’t Want A Divorce

Bam Margera, who is best known for his time spent on the MTV reality series Jackass, has been having a rough go at things lately, to say the very least. According to TMZ, the 41-year-old is in the midst of several lawsuits with his former friends and family members.

Earlier this week court records revealed that Margera‘s wife, Nicole Boyd, has filed to obtain sole custody of the pair’s son, Phoenix Wolf.

What’s particularly interesting about this is that Boyd has made the decision not to file for divorce, she and Margera are still legally married and have been for the last eight years.

TMZ reports that the mother of one is willing to grant her husband visitation rights, so long as a monitor of his selection and her approval is also present.

On top of the baby mama drama, Margera also recently made the decision to sue Johnny Knoxville and several other members of the Jackass crew for “inhumane treatment.”

The star launched the lawsuit after he was kicked out of the fourth installment of the Jackass film franchise for failing to abstain from the use of drugs and alcohol.

It’s also noted that Margera would sometimes attack his costars, and he was known to go on rants about suicide. Director Jeff Tremain felt so uncomfortable that he took out a restraining order.

The actor has previously made attempts to get his life back on track by attending rehab, although his failure to remain sober shows that he’s fallen off the wagon again. Here’s to hoping he gets help and finds himself in recovery.

What are your thoughts on Bam being booted from Jackass? Let us know in the comments.

Young Thug Confirms “Punk” Release Date

Young Thug is one of the most respected artists in Atlanta’s rap scene, and he’s built a special catalog of high-powered mixtapes and chart-impacting singles over the years. He’s also the leader of Young Stoner Life Records, the record label that introduced the world to artists like Gunna, Lil Keed, Karlae, Lil Duke, Yak Gotti, and more.

Despite already having a solid backlog of music with one of the strongest mixtape runs in recent memory, Young Thug is crafting out his next studio album Punk, which will officially be his sophomore album following his debut, So Much Fun. During his Tiny Desk performance for NPR earlier this year, Thugger revealed that his album would be dropping in mid-October by wearing a t-shirt with his release date on it. He’s seemingly confirming that date in his latest post on the YSL Records page.

Showing off his Spotify stats and boasting about being the fifty-ninth most-listened-to artist on the platform, Thug wrote that we can expect his new album Punk on October 15.

So far, the rapper has only released one song from the album, “Tick Tock.” He has previewed a number of songs that fans are expecting to see on the tracklist, including “Die Slow,” “Hate The Game,” and “Droppin Jewels.”

Drakeo The Ruler 24kGoldn Team Up On “Spaceship”

It’s always interesting when two artists with contrasting styles link up on a track but when those styles come together right, it creates the perfect vibe and provides listeners with a little something for everyone. On “Spaceship” Los Angeles rapper Drakeo The Ruler and San Francisco native 24kGoldn teamed up to do just that, giving us a track combining vibes from Northern and Southern California.

Drakeo The Ruler, who was recently arrested in LA after his Uber driver was pulled over for having tinted windows, came through with a subdued, almost-sleepy flow and tough bars about what he had to do to make it while on the come up.

24kGoldn handled the hook, giving us a faster-paced melodic chorus with multiple mentions of 1942, continuing Don Julio’s run of being namedropped in what seems like every new hip-hop record the game has to offer.

“Spaceship” is a perfect end-of-summer/beginning-of-fall record and the only glaring issue is its play time, clocking in at just two minutes.

Stream “Spaceship” below and let us know what you think of the record in the comments.
