Lupe Fiasco Responds To Tyler, The Creator: “I’m Still Here”

Tyler, The Creator had a few thoughts that he wanted to get out this week, using Twitter to project them to the world. One of them was about Lupe Fiasco, with Tyler suggesting that we didn’t “protect” the rapper enough. Over three thousand people seemingly agreed with Tyler’s sentiment, retweeting the post. Nearly fifty thousand people liked it.

Shortly after sending out the tweet, Lupe Fiasco actually felt compelled to respond to the rapper, giving him an update of everything nice that’s been happening in his life and career. Of course, knowing he was talking to Tyler, there were some jokes thrown in, as well.

“I’m still here fam lol,” said Lupe with a smiley face. “I’m happy. Family good. Life is awesome. Make my little money doing shows to Fund my lil side hustles. Joined the Illuminati. Pornography is better than it’s ever been. Chill case looking promising. Lawsuits settled. Booty muscles looking 25 again. Solid.”

It’s nice to hear that his lawsuits have been settled, he’s got money to fund his side hustles, and he’s sold his soul to join the Illuminati. Hopefully, we get some more new music from the iconic rapper, who has recently been dropping off freestyles for the world to enjoy.

Lance Skiiwalker Delivers New EP “Tales From the Telescope”

Today, TDE’s Lace Skiiwalker has come through with a brand new EP Tales From The Telescope, a five-track project that showcases the producer’s artistic growth. The release marks his first since 2016, when he dropped off his debut album Introverted Intuition.

“Beginning as a producer, music has always and will always be a self-reflection and inward projection first,” writes Skiiwalker, speaking on his project in a revealing Instagram post. “These last few years I’ve invested more into myself than ever before: engineering, new equipment, software, and studying. All of that said, I’ve gained so much value in doing something new by expanding my network and had the absolute blessing to work with the incredibly talented people listed below, all who I consider family. It’s all a process and excited to share with you.”

And share he has, with Tales From The Telescope serving as an interesting glimpse into Skiiwalker’s creative headspace. While the journey may prove a little niche for some, those who can appreciate (largely) instrumental releases will likely find enjoyment in exploring Skiiwalker’s latest. Be sure to check it out, especially if you’ve been jonesing for a quick fix of Top Dawg Entertainment.

NeNe Leakes Debuts A New Look After Losing Husband, Says She’s Adjusting To “New Normal”

Just yesterday, Real Housewives of Atlanta alumn NeNe Leakes took to Instagram to debut a new look that’s already got her followers talking. The 53-year-old revealed that she’s gone back to her signature blonde hair, but that’s not the only thing people noticed.

The smiling selfie is also topped with a filter that makes Leakes look almost unrecognizable. “NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Where is NeNe,” one comment asked.

“Who is this in the picture? That’s not NeNe,” another chimed in.

It appears that Leakes noticed those criticizing her latest upload, as she’s since limited the comment section, which is also flooded with words of love and support.

“Pushing thru,” the mother of two captioned her post, referring to the recent loss of her husband, Gregg Leakes.

Earlier this month, the family said an untimely good-bye to its patriarch after his battle with colon cancer, he was just 66. RIP.

After posting on her feed, Leakes took to her Instagram story to explain the transformation. “So I played in dark hair long enough. Now that I’m having to adjust to my new life, my new normal. I thought I’d go back to blonde.”

The reality star then went on to talk about how her support system has been keeping her strong through her loss.

“I have a whole group of people that’s coming to my house everyday doing different stuff with me. Trying to keep my mind off of… you know. Events that recently happened.”

She then reassured her fans, saying, “Love you guys. I’m OK and I’m pushing through.”

Lakeyah & Tee Grizzley Snap On “313-414”

Quality Control’s Lakeyah has come through with some new music, teaming up with Tee Grizzley and DJ Drama for “313-414.” The track is exactly what you might expect given the talent involved, and that’s far from a negative. The moment the Reuel-laced piano beat hits, DJ Drama promises a voyage from “Milwaulkee to the D,” though Lakeyah and Grizzley’s stylistic chemistry seems to go beyond regionalism.

Lyrically, both parties are sitting comfortably in “talk your shit” territory, as Lakeyah pledges to spend “100k on ice for the hell of it.” Tagging in effortlessly, Grizzley warns those looking to test him that he’s got “n***as that been killing since the ’90s right here by me.” From there, the pair continue letting fly aggressive rhymes, all while DJ Drama keeps the hype rolling like only he can.

Check out “313-414” now, and sound off if you want to see some more music from Lakeyah.

Nikita Dragun Switches Up On Tyga After Seemingly Outing Him

Nikita Dragun has been trending for the last few days and the release of her “D.I.C.K.” music video. The transgender YouTube star is known for her numerous controversies, including several accusations of racism against Black women. With the release of her new video, Nikita threw shade at Asian Doll by including her images and writing the word “DICK” over her, as well as saying that the rapper stole one of her looks. She also came for Tyga, seemingly outing the California native by leaking their direct messages.

While the DMs were harmless and only included a message saying “Text me” with Tyga’s phone number, many assumed that the two had a sexual relationship of sorts — especially since only a few weeks ago, Tyga’s ex Blac Chyna called him out and said he “loves trans” people. T-Raw responded and said that he reached out to Nikita because his production company was working on a music video of hers, and now Nikita is clapping back herself, saying that she never insinuated they had sex.

“And no. I didn’t not hookup with all the people in the video,” she said. However, since she said she didn’t NOT hook up with the people in the video, she may be contradicting herself. She continued, “Y’all are so quick to sexualize Trans Women. We can be friends with dudes. It is U who put the narrative that a man will only want to be with a Trans woman for sex.”

What do you think of Nikita’s response? Do you think she was simply looking for clout by including Tyga in the video, before telling the world that she was never even insinuating that anything happened with him? And what do you think of this entire situation? Let us know in the comments.

Fat Joe Reveals Verzuz Had “A Bag” For Him & Ja Rule

Since Fat Joe and Ja Rule stepped off the stage following their Verzuz battle on Tuesday night, Joe has done nothing but sing the praises of his fellow New York rapper and Verzuz competitor. Despite the controversy surrounding Joe’s Lil Mo comments and the whirlwind that was the Nelly/Ashanti hug, (as well as yet another Verzuz appearance from the undefeated Jadakiss), Joe’s focus has remained on making sure Ja gets his flowers while he can still smell them.

In a video posted to DJ Akademiks Instagram page, Joe gets into the details of how the Verzuz battle came together and the type of hitmaker he had to go up against.

“They come to me and they say, Joe we need you to do the Verzuz bad. We want you to do the Verzuz.” the “Lean Back” rapper started out. “Without being disrespectful, there’s a bag included … then they say ‘Joe, we have a law in Verzuz. Whoever gets this bag, we have to give the competitor the same bag. Who do you want to give the bag to?'”

Contemplating on who he wanted to bring on stage with him, Joe said there were a couple choices but only one true option came to mind: Ja Rule.

“This man saved my life. This man needs to be in his notoriety. These people need to see his greatness,” Joe said of the “Down 4 U” rapper, while also acknowledging the type of battle he was getting himself into.

“I put myself in the line of fire,” Joe exclaimed. “I knew the man had 17 number ones! I’m not delusional!”

Fat Joe, with a painting of Big Pun hanging over his shoulder, went on to explain the rest of the negotiation process with Ja, including that Ja is one of his “best friends on Earth” and that he “went to war with Ja rule.” And circling back to explain further just how many number one records Ja had, Joe built on his previous claim that Ja was “the Drake before the Drake” and ensured everyone knew what kind of battle he had gotten himself into.

Never one to mince words, the “All The Way Up” rapper was exaggerated in his praise for Ja and over the past couple of days has been hammering the point that this new generation doesn’t know or understand the greatness that was Ja Rule.

What do you think? Is Joe right to pump up Ja at every turn? Is Ja really one of the most underrated acts to come through the rap game? Let us know in the comments.

D Smoke & SiR Rep Family Ties On “Common Sense”

D Smoke and SiR, two brothers with immense musical talent, are no strangers to collaboration. Today, the pair have come through with another one for the books in “Common Sense,” a single presumably designed for D Smoke’s upcoming album. The song clocks in at over five minutes, ample space for Smoke and SiR to stretch their legs and make their respective presence felt.

For the most part, the instrumental remains consistent throughout, a steady drum-beat enhanced by a lush, jazzy arrangement. D Smoke opens things up with a verse at the onset, transitioning into a soulful melodic display from SiR. For the most part, however, the bulk of the song’s runtime consists of an atmospheric horn section — one that somehow manages to be both soothing and frantic at once.

It’s the exact sort of bold musicality that makes D Smoke such a refreshing presence in the game, and we’re eagerly awaiting to see what he cooks up on his next album. Check out “Common Sense” now.

Johnny Depp’s Mom Seemingly Abandoned Him As A Teenager: Report

Johnny Depp has lived what most would call an “adventurous” life, but recently unearthed court documents from 1981 show that before he became famous, things for the actor were even worse than imagined.

According to Page Six, Depp’s mother, Betty Sue, effectively abandoned him in the midst of her divorce from Depp’s father when the young boy was just 15 years old.

Court documents from the case show Betty Sue claiming that her son was “emancipated and self-supporting” at this time, although he paints an entirely different picture.

Interviews from over the years feature the Pirates of the Caribbean star talking about experimenting with drugs as early as 11, dropping out of high school at 16, and moving to Los Angeles where he lived in his car for several months before meeting Nicolas Cage.

“He said since age 11, he’s taken all manner of substances, including marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, prescription painkillers, opiates and magic mushrooms. His drug use, he said, was a way to escape family problems,” Paul Barresi said, according to Page Six.

Barresi, who is currently working on a documentary about Depp’s ongoing legal battle with his ex wife, Amber Heard, is the one who discovered the divorce documents.

“Johnny was hardly financially self-sufficient, and far from being emancipated. As far as I am concerned, his mother disowned him at a time when he unquestionably needed her most,” he said.

Apparently, there is no court record in existence that reports Depp as having been emancipated. Despite this, Betty Sue, signed a paper in 1981 stating that, “the wife hereby acknowledges that the parties’ minor child … John C. Depp II is fully emancipated and self-supporting.”

Betty Sue passed away in 2016, but in 2018, the actor sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone, during which he shared the unfortunate impact his childhood trauma has had on his adult life.

“It was a ghost house — no one talked. I don’t think there ever was a way I thought about people, especially women, other than ‘I can fix them.’”

He continued, “Betty Sue, I worshipped her, but she could be a real bitch on wheels.”
