A horse named Breonna Taylor has won a race at the 2021 Kentucky Derby. The three-year-old horse won Race 4 at Churchill Downs, Thursday, with jockey Corey Lanerie. Taylor was trained by Steve Margolis.
The horse is owned by JS Stables, LLC, which is run by attorney Sam Aguiar, who represents Taylor’s family.
“My wife named the filly Breonna because she was beautiful, strong, and resilient,” Aguiar said, as reported by the Atlanta Voice. “She’s tough and has swagger. But to those closest to her, she’s also loving and kind. That was Breonna Taylor as well.”
Taylor, a 26-year-old nurse from Louisville, Kentucky, was killed by plainclothes police officers during a no-knock raid on her apartment on March 13, 2020. Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, survived and was initially charged with assault and attempted murder of a police officer for fighting back in self-defense. Charges were later dropped after national backlash.
Janelle Aguiar, who named the horse Breonna, wrote about the victory on Twitter after the race: “Any time we win a horse race is exciting … But it takes it to a new level when you name your horse Breonna in honor of #BreonnaTaylor, the horse wins at Churchill Downs on Derby week, and you hear so many people #SayHerName.”

Yaya Mayweather recently went on Instagram Live to discuss her son, Kentrell Jr., who she shares with rapper NBA YoungBoy. Kentrell was born back in January 2021.
In the video, Mayweather mentions that she may show her son to her fans on social media after he turns one year old, but she isn’t certain because “people on the internet are so negative,” and “so mean.”
She also mentions that Kentrell “only likes my mom and my dad.” Her father is legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather, who recently bought his grandson some new jewelry.
Mayweather certainly appears in good spirits in the video. She recently said that being a mother has made her the happiest she’s ever been.
“How’s Mom life? It’s amazing so good I love being a mother. I’m honestly the happiest I’ve ever been like ever, it’s just amazing,” she told fans. “I just wanted to come on here and show you guys that your girl is happy.”
Mayweather and YoungBoy started dating back in 2019, but the couple eventually broke it off. Things hit another level in April of last year when Mayweather allegedly stabbed YoungBoy’s baby’s mother, LaPattra Lashai Jacobs.

Vice President Kamala Harris said that she doesn’t think America is a racist country in an interview with Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos, earlier this week.
“No, I don’t think America is a racist country,” Harris said on the program. “But we also do have to speak truth about the history of racism in our country and its existence today.”
“These are issues that we must confront, and it doesn’t–it does not help to heal our country to unify us as a people to ignore the realities of that,” she added.
Harris also said that “we want to unify the country, but not without speaking truth and requiring accountability, as appropriate.”
The Vice President’s comments were in response to GOP Sen. Tim Scott, (R-SC) who initially said that America is not a racist country. Scott is the only Black Republican senator.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) argued, last week, that systemic racism doesn’t exist in America and cited Harris’ election as Vice President to be his proof.
“No, not in my opinion,” Graham declared. “We just elected a two-term African-American president; the vice president is of African-American and Indian descent. So our systems are not racist.”
