Bobby Shmurda Looks To Make A ‘Splash’ With His Hungry New Single

Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda has been steadily working toward a comeback ever since his release from prison earlier this year. In addition to returning to the stage at Rolling Loud — both the Miami and New York editions — he’s released a handful of new singles and guest appearances, including a remix to Eladio Carrion’s “Tata” with J Balvin and Daddy Yankee, the wide-eyed “No Time For Sleep Freestyle,” and now, his latest, the hungry “Splash.”

Over a sinister, piano-backed beat produced by Aloy and Danny Wolf, Bobby spits a tongue-twisting flow, cockily challenging foes with eye-popping taunts. His new, squelched delivery makes some of the bars harder to understand but “Splash” is much more about the vibe, creating the sensation of speeding down a highway so fast the tires of your vehicle leave the ground.

In addition to putting out new music, Bobby has also been on a philanthropic spree. In June, he arranged a “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch,” treating 200 families to a traditional Jamaican meal and giving out free haircuts for attendees. More recently, he sent 2,000 New York City students back to school with brand-new backpacks full of supplies, telling the kids at six schools “you guys are unstoppable.”

Travis Scott’s New Song “MAFIA” Includes An Unexpected J. Cole Feature

Those who are attending Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival this weekend have a lot to look forward to. The Houston native shared two new tracks today, one of which includes a brief appearance from “Wet Dreamz” hitmaker, J. Cole.

“F*CK IT LET’S START IT UP,” Scott wrote on social media before releasing “ESCAPE PLAN” and “MAFIA.” The former track was first debuted during the “Ok Alright” rapper’s set at Rolling Loud in New York, but the latter is new to the ears of fans.

According to Hypebeast, the new song sees production from Jahaan Sweet and Boi-1da. Those with Apple Music can see it performed live on the app, along with the rest of Scott’s setlist tonight at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET.

Although Cole isn’t directly credited, Genius reveals that he assisted on the track’s chorus. “Fuck shit up at the club, shit tucked (Me and my niggas show up, you know it’s goin’ down)/We be floatin’ front to back, back to back, Bentley truck (You know I’ma bring a parade if I fall through this town today),” the pair sings on the chorus.

In the past, the two artists have worked together on “The London” in collaboration with Young Thug, so it’s no surprise that they were able to craft up another banger.

Deron Williams To Potentially Fight On Paul Vs. Fury Undercard

On December 18th of this year, Tommy Fury and Jake Paul will be fighting to see who is the better boxer. These two have been going back and forth for quite some time now and fans have been waiting to see who would actually come away victorious. Most people have Tommy taking this fight although Jake certainly has an opportunity to win as he continues to train hard at the profession.

The promoters are trying to figure out the undercard for the fight, and it seems like there are plenty of big names on their list. One such name just so happens to be former NBA star Deron Williams, who is now looking for the quick payday.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Williams is looking to go up against former NFL star Frank Gore. Gore was in the NFL up until last season where he became one of the longest-standing running backs in NFL history. He is third on the all-time yards list, and this is the first time we have heard of him wanting to box. A fight deal has not been put in place, although it remains an interesting proposition.

Titans Officially Sign Adrian Peterson To Active Roster

Following a season-threatening injury to star running back Derrick Henry, the Tennessee Titans have officially signed RB Adrian Peterson to their active roster today, per NFL reporter Mike Garafolo. Reporting that the move is permanent to the active roster specifically, Garafolo also tweeted that Peterson has, “impressed them that quickly that it’s go time already.”

There is optimism surrounding Henry’s eventual return, but with no guarantees, Tennessee has elected to bring in the 36-year old future Hall of Famer in Peterson. Henry still leads the entire NFL in rushing by a large margin, totaling 937 yards on the ground and 10 rushing touchdowns through his first eight games of the season. He was on pace to lead the league in rushing for the third consecutive year.

While the veteran Peterson isn’t the same running back he was a decade ago, obviously, he should still be considered more than serviceable for a team so heavily predicated around running the football. Last season with the Detroit Lions, Peterson rushed for 604 yards on 156 carries while nearly averaging four yards per carry. The former Vikings great also scored seven touchdowns for a struggling Lions team, so he may have something left to give Tennessee while their perennial Offensive Player of the Year candidate remains sidelined with a foot injury.

The Titans currently sit atop the struggling AFC South with a 6-2 overall record, having already beaten the second-place Indianapolis Colts twice already this season. The other two teams in the division, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are both in the middle of a major rebuild, each with only one win on the season. 

Adrian Peterson will be asked to help manage the workload of a Titans team vying for a division crown and playoff spot, while not ruling out Henry’s potential return come playoff time.

The artist behind the platinum-certified hit single “B*tch From Da Souf” and the album Queen of Da Souf has been extremely vocal about what the Southside of Atlanta, and Clayton County specifically, means to her, and in her latest single, Latto gives fans a tour of her stomping grounds, which has bred artists such as Waka Flocka, 2 Chainz, Deante’ Hitchcock, Ciara, Gunna, and more.

The brief two-minute track finds Latto shouting out various landmarks from “Da Souf,” including Tara Boulevard, Southlake Mall, Pointe Southe, Lovejoy, Old National Highway, and more. For fans who are from the area, it will definitely be a fulfilling experience to hear their hometown shouted out on wax, and it also serves as an intimate look into the side of town that shaped Latto into the artist that she is today.

Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” Set To Drop Soon: Photos

About a decade ago now, Kanye West and Jay Z put out Watch The Throne in what remains to be one of the best collaborative albums of all time. At the time, LeBron James was wearing the Nike LeBron 9, and he put out a friends and family Watch The Throne model which had some gold crowns on the front all while the upper was covered in black. At the time, the shoe was highly coveted as sneakerheads wanted a shot at them. Now, it appears as though that opportunity has arrived. 

Official images of the “Watch The Throne” Nike LeBron 9 have now hit the interwebs, and as you can see, the shoe lives up to the original that was released 10 years ago. All of the fine details are still here, and fans will finally be able to wear a shoe that was once reserved for LeBron’s best friends and family members.

Tems Performs “Damages,” “Free Mind,” & More During Her Tiny Desk Concert

The latest artist to team up with NPR for a Tiny Desk Concert of their own is none other than Nigeria’s own Tems. The 26-year-old found herself quickly rising in popularity earlier this year after collaborating with Wizkid on “Essence.” Later in 2021, she would go on to work with Drake on Certified Lover Boy, and release two of her own EPs, Broken Ears and If Orange Was a Place.

For her performance, Tems and her band took over a beautiful ballroom to perform some of the vocalist’s biggest hits to date. The set list included “Found,” “Free Mind,” “Looku Looku,” “Replay,” and “Damages,” which has been considered a favourite by many since the video of the concert hit the internet earlier this week.

“The set. The colours. The way the light hit her face. The simplicity. The class. The BEAUTY. The VOICE. Tems’ tiny desk is the best I’ve ever watched,“ one viewer wrote on Twitter yesterday. “Tems tiny desk? Today is gonna be a good day,” another person added.

The visual of the show has been viewed over 100,000 of times, with thousands of people singing the African star’s praises in the comment section. “She literally sounds JUST like her tracks,” one user pointed out.

Just a few months ago, Tems hinted that she has another collaboration with Drizzy on the way in 2022, and Moneybagg Yo made it clear that he would love to work with the singer, calling her “too raw.”

Drake Reacts To Kanye West’s “Drink Champs” Interview

Drake may not have issued an official reaction to Kanye West’s new interview on Drink Champs, during which he gets mentioned dozens of times, but he’s letting the world know (indirectly) that he listened to all of Ye’s claims and is standing with those who he spoke poorly about.

During his lengthy interview with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Ye called producer Just Blaze a “copycat” and said he “copied” his work on the first half of JAY-Z’s The Blueprint. Just Blaze responded to Ye’s comments and said that he was “confused and disappointed” by his remarks, and it looks like Drake feels the same way.

DJ Akademiks re-posted Just Blaze’s response to Ye’s comments on his Instagram account, but he made sure to use a screenshot that shows that Drake “liked” the post, showing that he’s very much aware of the interview and what was said during it. Drake seemingly co-signs Just Blaze’s comments by double-tapping the post, but he has not said anything regarding Ye’s remarks about him. 

During the interview, Ye spoke about the rumors that Drake had sex with Kim Kardashian, claiming that the rapper texted all of her friends and slid into her DM’s, also stating that he moved down the street from Ye to be petty.

As we wait for Drake to officially respond to Ye’s comments (which may or may not ever come), this is the closest thing we have to his reaction so far. What do you think?

Canelo Alvarez Dismisses Kamaru Usman

Kamaru Usman will be going up against Colby Covington on Saturday, and fans can’t wait to see how the rematch will go down. The title is on the line, and Usman is determined to go out and prove to the world that he is still the best in his weight class. Having said that, however, Usman is still interested in other endeavors, including boxing. For instance, Usman told DAZN that he wants to go up against Canelo Alvarez, who also fights this Saturday.

“It only makes sense because we’re in an era to where people want to be entertained,” Usman said. “So, in order to entertain people, when have we in history ever seen the two pound-for-pound fighters in the world in combat sports at the top of their prime, when have we ever seen them compete? It never happened. Either man waits for the other one to get old. It’s rarely ever really happened. But it’s either that both are out of their prime, both are old … it’s never been done.”

Leading up to Alvarez’s fight against Caleb Plant, Canelo was asked about Usman and whether or not he would ever contemplate such a fight. Alvarez seemingly dismissed Usman right out of the gate, saying “payday” before moving on. Clearly, Alvarez sees what Usman is trying to do, and he wants no parts.

Alvarez has been a stern critic of novelty fights and it doesn’t like his outlook on the matter is going to change, anytime soon. If he were to get in the ring with Usman, he would probably win within just a few rounds.

Henry Ruggs III Distraught In Post Crash Footage

New video has been released of Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III and girlfriend, Kiara Washington, sitting on the street with one another after Tuesday morning’s (November 2nd) deadly DUI accident resulting in the death of a 23-year old woman and her dog, per TMZ Sports. 

Reportedly, Ruggs reached a top speed of 156 in his Chevrolet Corvette before colliding with the Toyota RAV4, with the airbags deploying at about 127 MPH, according to prosecutor Eric Bauman. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to burst into flames, also leaving Ruggs’ Chevrolet severely damaged. New footage showed the aftermath of Ruggs and his girlfriend on scene, consoling and reacting to the accident after exiting their vehicle and sitting near a curb.

In the video, Ruggs sits alongside Washington while watching the still burning vehicle. A distressed Washington tells Ruggs, “Okay. Okay. Here. I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” before he replied, “F***!!! Stop yelling, I see it!!!”

Also in the video, Washington can be heard saying, “Can we get help? Please can we get help?”, while sound picks up a responding officer and witness’ conversation, where the witness explains, “Henry Ruggs right here. That’s Henry Ruggs right here. He plays for the Raiders.”

Ruggs has been charged with DUI resulting in death, and a second charge of reckless driving. The professional football player’s blood alcohol concentration level was reported more than two times the legal limit. A loaded gun was also found inside Ruggs’ vehicle. He now faces up to 2-20 years as DUI charges resulting in death in Nevada dictates, as well as another six years for the additional charge of reckless driving. 

The Las Vegas Raiders released Henry Ruggs III, and he awaits his next November 10th court appearance after posting bail at $150,000.
