Keedron Bryant & Curly J Team Up For New Song & Video, “Stubborn”

Keedron Bryant may be just 14 years old, but he’s already got a lot of W’s to look back on. The recording artist and activist recently dropped off a new single “Stubborn” featuring Curly J, along with a Mills Miller directed video to go along with the track.

As Broadway World notes, the new song highlights the young performer’s great versatility, allowing listeners to enjoy his fun-loving, upbeat side. “Stubborn” is a love song that tells the story of someone vying for attention from the girl of their dreams. “To love you, it’s so easy to/You brighten up the room when you walk into it,” the “Hello” artist sings.

New York rapper Curly J shows off his head-spinning lyrical skills on his verse, flirting with the woman he wants as he spits game. The visual shows the Curly and his friend hanging out in a skating rink with their girls, playing games, and having a blast together. Check it out above.

If you’re a fan of Keedron’s new release, you’ll be happy to hear that he has a new project on the way, slated for release on January 14th, 2022.

Celtics Provide Update On Jaylen Brown’s Injured Hamstring

On Friday, the Boston Celtics announced on Twitter that forward Jaylen Brown would officially miss time with a hamstring injury. Unfortunate news for Celtics’ fans, as Brown will be sidelined for at least the team’s next game, when they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks tomorrow evening.

Today, Celtics’ Head Coach Ime Udoka told reporters that Brown’s hamstring is, “still getting assessed,” and that, “we’ll know more tomorrow about the severity or length of time [he’ll miss].”

From what Coach Udoka is saying, it would be a surprise if the injury only held the All-Star wing out for just a single game. In his absence, the Celtics’ will need more from key players like Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart, to pick-up some of the scoring slack.

Brown had gotten off to a hot start for Boston this season, averaging nearly 25.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, before aggravating his hamstring in a 95-78 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night. Brown has had success this season, as the star wing scored an impressive 46 points in the Celtics’ season debut against the New York Knicks, however, his efforts haven’t necessarily resulted in overall team wins, as Boston has gotten out to a sluggish sub .500 start to begin their season.

The Celtics (4-5) take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks (5-3) on Sunday evening, as Boston looks to steady the ship as they await news on the significance of Jaylen Brown’s right hamstring.

Travis Scott & Snoop Dogg Heat Up Our “Fire Emoji” Playlist

New Music Friday included some massive drops this week. As usual, we highlight all of it on our weekly Fire Emoji playlist. Without further adieu, here’s your breakdown:

Though tragedy struck Astroworld on Friday night, Travis Scott prepared for the return of his annual festival with the release of two new singles, “ESCAPE PLAN” and “MAFIA” ft. J. Cole. The two new singles from LaFlame appear to be the first official taste of what he has in store with his forthcoming mixtape, Dystopia. It was only right that both records found their way on this week’s playlist.

With Memphis holding it down these days, Key Glock has proven to be one of the leaders of the new generation of rappers in the city. This week, he shared the second installment in the Yellow Tape series. “Luv A Thug” and “Channel 5” were both necessary inclusions for the Fire Emoji playlist.

Snoop Dogg recently announced his plans to bring New York back to the rap game. And it seems he made his intention clear with the release of his new single, “Murder Music.” With some help from East Coast heavyweights, Benny The Butcher, Busta Rhymes, and Jadakiss, Snoop blessed us with a more comprehensive look at what he has in store on The Algorithm

Finally, we got new music from Money Man. Hopefully, a new album is on the way.

Daniel Cormier Speaks Out On Accusations That He’s Biased

Daniel Cormier has become a very solid UFC commentator since retiring from the sport, and he can always be heard giving his opinion on the latest UFC broadcast. Recently, however, Cormier was criticized by Justin Gaethje for being way too biased. Throughout the match between Islam Makhachev and Dan Hooker, Cormier was clearly favoring Islam, who just so happens to be a part of Cormier’s training team. Gaethje felt like Cormier’s judgment was clouded as a result, which ultimately led to the criticism.

Recently, Cormier addressed these criticisms on Vover Podcasts, where he noted that he only appeared to be biased because Makhachev was winning the fight with ease. The one-sided nature of the matchup had Cormier talking a certain way, and that it had nothing to do with being biased. Cormier also said that he would have called the fight the same no matter who was participating.

“How could I be biased to Islam? What could I have possibly said positive about Dan Hooker in that fight? There is no bias whenever a fight is clearly on one side,” Cormier said. “I think it’s absurd. I don’t agree at all. I have called Khabib’s fights, Luke Rockhold, Deron Winn, Islam Makhachev, I’ve called all of their fights and I feel like I have done their opponents justice. I go out of my way to make sure that we do their opponents justice. I’m a professional and for as much as I love my teammates, I understand the difference to separate myself from that.”

Cormier seems to also believe that the criticism is a good thing as it is indicative of the fact that he is doing a good enough job to be criticized in the first place. While Gaethje might not accept this answer, you have to appreciate Cormier for at least addressing what’s going on.

Rakeem Miles Enlists Waka Flocka & Chad Hugo For “It Is What It Is”

You know if Chad Hugo’s on the production, you have a hit on your hands.

This week, Baltimore rapper Rakeem Miles set the dancefloor ablaze with his latest offering, “It Is What It Is.” The song includes production from Chad Hugo of The Neptunes with a guest verse coming from Waka Flocka Flame. Though it seems like an odd combination of collaborators, Rakeem Miles’s energetic flow is the glue that brings everything together. Waka’s contributions feels like a throwback to the EDM days while layering his ad-libs underneath the beat.

Miles is currently putting together the final pieces of his forthcoming album. With the release of “It Is What It Is,” maybe we’ll end up receiving the project before the year comes to an end.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield’s Relationship Explained

On Friday, the Cleveland Browns released their star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after nearly three seasons with the team.

When Odell was traded in early 2019 from the New York Giants to the Cleveland Browns, the NFL saw one of its brightest stars leave one of the biggest markets in the NFL for one of the smallest. However, Cleveland’s first year quarterback and number one overall pick, Baker Mayfield, had just set the Brown’s rookie record for passing yards, leading the team to a much improved 7-8-1 record, compared to their 0-16 finish the year prior.

When Cleveland brought in Odell the season thereafter, things seemed to be heading in an increasingly positive direction for the Browns and Beckham Jr., who would reunite with his longtime friend from their college days at LSU, Jarvis Landry.

However, the Odell and Baker connection never materialized on the field, and although they were friendly and cordial with one another off of it, their lack of in-game rapport steadily began to impact their relationship as a whole.

ESPN reporter Jake Trotter notes that the rift between the two developed far before Tuesday’s events that saw OBJ’s father take to social media, blasting Baker’s inability to get his son the ball, with reposting an 11-minute, blooper-like compilation of the quarterback’s ineptitude in taking advantage of the star receiver.

Trotter outlines fractures in the QB-WR duo’s relationship from as early as their initial training camp together, detailing an occasion that saw Mayfield scream at Beckham and Browns’ receivers to, “Work the f***ing scramble drill!” and spike the ball in disgust.

Odell reportedly downplayed the emotional event afterwards, telling the media that, “Once we get on the same page, it’s gonna be scary.”

The two never quite got there, however, as Trotter highlights a Browns’ team source who said, “Odell is in his head, and [Mayfield] is pressing every time [Beckham] is around. Odell throws him off…. and it all gets [messed] up from there because Baker becomes indecisive.”

Maybe the duo will be better individually now that they are apart, especially Baker, who’s splits even show he’s a much more efficient quarterback when not targeting Odell. Regardless of individual success, however, this situation only proves as an added example for an organization that consistently fails to make things work and retain star talent. An all too familiar reality for the Cleveland Browns and their fans.

Hotboii Teams Up With Lil Tjay In New Single “Doctor”

Hotboii has been busy releasing single after single now that he’s back home. His latest, Doctor,” featuring Lil Tjay, signals that things are business as usual when it comes to making music. “Doctor” serves as a warning shot to those who mess with him. In the video, the rapper sports shiny gold chains, and expensive watches, flexing the money behind his words.

The rapper was arrested back in Jul after he was wanted for drug trafficking as part of a 9-month long investigation donned Operation “X-Force.” The indictment included members of the “438” gang and “All Family No Friends” gang which rapper 9lokkNine is reportedly also associated with. Both located in South Florida.

Hotboii had turned himself into authorities, posting a video of himself listening to Lil Durk’s song “Turn Myself In” and adding, “I turn myself in tonight…”

Quotable Lyrics:

Ah, he got popped up (Oh, oh)

Travis Scott Issues A Response To The Deaths And Injuries That Occurred At The 2021 Astroworld Festival

The music world woke up to horrifying news about Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival. During the rapper’s solo set on Friday, which closed out the first night of the two-day showcase, chaos broke out within the crowd. A number of concertgoers were trampled and soon found it hard to breathe due to the suffocating atmosphere. At the end of the night, it was revealed that eight people died and hundreds of people were injured as a result of the incident. A number of attendees took to social media to share their thoughts. And now Travis Scott himself has issued a statement on the matter.

“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night,” he wrote on Twitter “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life.” He added, “I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All.”

Fire Chief Samuel Peña spoke to reporters late Friday night and went into detail about what happened. “The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries,” he said. “People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic.” He said that at 9:38 PM local time, the incident was then listed as a “mass causality event” and that medical units on hand were “quickly overwhelmed” by the “scores of people” that were treated for injuries.

In total, 17 people were transported to local hospitals, with 11 being treated for cardiac arrest, and more than 300 people were treated on-site at the festival.

TDE Label Boss Terrence ‘Punch’ Henderson Announced His ‘A Room Full Of Mirrors’ Collective

It’s well-known in LA circles that Terrence “Punch” Henderson has plenty of artistic and musical talent of his own, even though he’s spent the last several years as one of the architects behind the Top Dawg Entertainment empire. Now, Punch is readying another collective, and the trailer for what they’re about to do just dropped yesterday. A Room Full Of Mirrors will feature Punch alongside other artists like Nick Grant, DayLyt, Earlee Riser, Billymarie, Lyric Michelle, Ichiban Don, Hari and Jrias Law. They released “Mirrors” back in February and “RawR” in April to preview their first EP together, and now that project is only a few days away.

To further whet fans’ appetites, last night they dropped a trailer that revealed the EP title and gave a taste of what’s to come. Money Bags is teased in the minute-long clip (above) as a visual EP, with some clear inspirations from Quentin Tarantino and Reservoir Dogs. The film was directed by Lyric Michelle, and as far as the music, most of the project was produced by Hari and “and constructed from a narrative and detail standpoint by Punch himself.” Punch has overseen every release for TDE, so needless to say he knows how to roll an album out. Check out the preview for Money Bags above, dropping in just a few days on November 17.
