Chloe Bailey Says She’s “Grateful” For Beyoncé Comparisons In New Interview

Chloe Bailey has been a star on the rise for some time now, and the 23-year-old is showing no signs of stopping. Recently, the “Have Mercy” singer sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club in which she discussed her relationship with Beyoncé, among other things.

“We talk about any and everything. I’m just so grateful to have her stamp of approval. She always gives me words of encouragement, you have no idea how much that means to me,” Bailey told the interviewer.

For many Black women in music, Beyoncé is a huge inspiration. The Lemonade hitmaker rose to fame in the 90’s while fronting the girl group, Destiny’s Child, and went on to release her first solo album, Dangerously In Love in 2003.

Luckily for the Atlanta-born star, she’s got Queen B in her corner.

“What she kinda says, it’s like, okay, that’s pretty dope, because she’s been there. To know that the advice that she’s giving me is exactly from the place I’m in is pretty cool and inspiring,” Bailey said during her chat with The Breakfast Club.

Throughout her career, the singer has been frequently compared to Beyoncé, with some people even trying to pit the two superstars against one another. When asked what Yoncé has to say about this, Bailey responded very maturely.

“She says she’s really proud of me. That’s not something that we specifically talk about, but I just love her and I’m happy that she sees this light inside of me, and my sister as well,” she said.

However, when the host asked her how she feels about being compared to Beyoncé, Bailey responded, “I’m grateful, that’s the biggest compliment!”

“Call of Duty: Vanguard” Releases Highly Anticipated Zombies Trailer

Call of Duty: Vanguard, is set to release in the next month, and the trailer for new Zombies mode has officially been released. The highly anticipated World War II themed game mode follows the Dark Aether storyline first seen in Black Ops Cold War, and based on the new trailer, this version looks ready to live up to the hype and expectations.

A year after the Battle of Stalingrad, the new Vanguard Zombies mode picks up following the story of Nazi officer Oberführer Wolfram Von List, who upon interacting with a supernatural artifact linked with a Dark Aether entity named Kortifex, is overtaken by dark power from the underworld necessary to lead an army of the dead. Used as an instrument for revenge for the evil entity Kortifex, Von List is gifted the unworldly ability to raise his zombie army from the depths, directing his revenge at you, as well as three friends in the Vanguard Zombies mode.

In this newest release of the Call of Duty franchise, friends will be able to connect and play with various gaming systems through cross-play, so lack of a similar console or PC won’t stop fans attempting to defeat Oberführer Wolfram Von List and his vicious army of the dead. Also, experience earned in the Vanguard Zombies mode carries over towards your normal Battle Pass, along with progression through other multiplayer modes including Warzone, so upgrades and unlocks will be accessible regardless of what mode is played.

Call of Duty: Vanguard officially releases November 5th for Playstation 5, Playstation 4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Check out the much anticipated trailer, below:

Young Thug’s Quirkiest “Punk” Lyrics

One of the most eclectic characters in all of hip-hop, the incomparable Young Thug has officially released his sophomore studio album Punk. After months of teasers and hints about which direction the Atlanta-based rapper would be taking on the genre-fusing album, fans are comparing Punk to Thug’s beloved mixtape Beautiful Thugger Girls, which saw him rapping primarily over acoustic guitar beats. Much like on that project, the 30-year-old takes a smoother approach on his new album, opening up on songs like “Die Slow” and bringing some of his closest friends, including Future, Drake, Travis Scott, Gunna, J. Cole, and more, onto the tracklist.

From his fashion to his lyrics, Thugger has always been one of the most interesting and unconventional people in music. He broke down gendered barriers in fashion by wearing a dress on his mixtape Jeffery. And in a now-infamous tweet from years ago, the rapper bragged about the size of his marijuana joint on Twitter, saying that he’s “smoking penises.”

Young Thug is unlike anybody else in the rap game, and we’re going to prove that by gathering some of the quirkiest bars on Punk. Check out our list below, and let us know your personal favorite in the comments.

She like, “How the fuck you ain’t never wrote a song?”
Same reason your fine ass ain’t never wore a thong

Joel Embiid’s Take On Ben Simmons Trade Revealed

Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia but now, it seems like there is, indeed, some sort of reconciliation on the way. Simmons found himself in Philadelphia this past week, where he is now reporting to the team. It was believed that he would never return, but in the end, he decided to come back and at least try to work some things out. At this point, he still wants to be traded, but things are now a bit better than they were before.

Recently, Sixers reporter Kyle Neubeck wrote about the Simmons saga and how it has affected the team’s biggest star, Joel Embiid. In the piece, it was revealed that while Embiid has criticized Simmons, he still wants him on the team if that’s what gives the Sixers the best chance at winning a title.

Per Neubeck:

“In spite of the distance between the two over the summer and the shade cast in both directions through public interviews and leaked reports, Embiid ultimately just wants to win, and has expressed a desire to get Simmons in the fold and working toward contending. If Simmons proves stubborn or uninterested in doing so, the team believes Embiid is onboard with not settling for a trade just to be done with the problem altogether.”

There are numerous teams who are out there trying to get Simmons on their roster, but for now, the Sixers don’t seem content with any of the trade packages that have been offered. With this in mind, stay tuned to HNHH for more updates from the NBA world.

Key Glock Flexes Hard On New Single “Da Truth”

Memphis is the spot right now.

From veterans like Yo Gotti and Young Dolph, to newcomers like Pooh Sheisty and Duke Deuce, the Tennessee city boasts some of the biggest and best names in the game.

Key Glock is one of those names.

Coming through with a low-key delivery over a piano-laden Pyrex Whippa beat, Glock gave us another preview of his upcoming Yellow Tape 2 with the release of his new single, “Da Truth.”

According to Key Glock, “Da Truth” is that it’s money over everything. Rapping about not trusting anything except for green paper and blue faces, Glock flexes everything he does have and lets us know exactly how he acquires everything is doesn’t.

Rapping “I shine like a lighthouse, yeah b*tch I’m iced out,” over and over, Key Glock gave us one of those songs that gets you in your bag. No matter if you’re driving to work or walking to the corner store, “Da Truth” will have you feeling like you’re all-the-way iced out with a Moncler keeping all that positive energy in, and all that negative energy out.

Quotable Lyrics
I can’t trust these b*tches, these b*tches be having cooties

Only One Other Artist Has Heard Adele’s Upcoming Album ’30’ And It’s Drake

After years of waiting, Adele is back with new music, as her new single, “Easy On Me,” was released earlier today. Fans will be able to listen to Adele’s forthcoming album, 30, when it drops on November 19, but of course, there are people in Adele’s circle who have already heard the album. As for other artists who have had the privilege of getting an advance listen of 30, there’s only one: Drake.

In a Capital FM interview this morning, Adele was asked if she sent the album to anybody so she could get their thoughts on it, and she was quick to respond, “No.” She then continued, though, “I played it to Drake maybe last year, when he was in town, just to get… like, ‘Do you think this is what people want or not want,’ and he was like, ‘Absolutely.’ But that’s it, really. […] I don’t sent it around to various people being like, ‘Can I get your thoughts on this?’”

This comes after Drake gave the new song a co-sign: After it was released, he took to his Instagram Story to spread the word about the track and show love for his pal, writing, “One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single.”

30 is out 11/19 via Columbia. Pre-order it here.

Comedian Zack Fox Finally Goes Full Rapper-Mode With His Still-Hilarious New EP, ‘STFU Talking To Me’

Comedian Zack Fox had previously dabbled in rap with mischievous singles like “Fafo,” “Jesus Is the One,” and “Square Up,” but as it turns out, those were just practice for him to lock in and release a full EP. That EP, Shut The F*ck Up Talking To Me, arrived last night and across its nine tracks, Fox turns out to be every bit as adept (and profane) a rapper as he is a standup comic.

Just check out “Mind Your Business,” an ’80s-R&B-sampling two-stepper that finds Fox slinging witty, wild one-liners like “I’m smokin’ big pressure, call that hypertension,” and “I took the top off the whip, circumcision.” Meanwhile, on the EP’s title track, Fox employs a soulful beat courtesy of The Alchemist to spit a multi-syllabic string of punchlines worthy of inclusion in the long list of hardcore rap artists that Alchemist has produced for in the past couple of years.

“Don’t get embarrassed tryna snatch my carats,” Fox warns, “My n***s barbaric, sh*t could get ugly as f*ck like Ed Sheeran.” No target is safe from his hilarious threats as he reps Atlanta, references wrestling, and delivers one smirking haymaker after another on his thoroughly impressive debut tape. You can check it out in full below.

Wale, Maxo Kream, And Yella Beezy Throw A Parking Lot Party In The ‘Down South’ Video

If you’re going to make a video for a song called “Down South” featuring Houston hard-hitter Maxo Kream and Dallas star Yella Beezy, it’s only right that you make that video a blowout celebration of all things Texas car culture. That’s exactly what Wale does for his Paul Wall-sampling single from Folarin II, throwing a parking lot party with all the candy paint, hydraulics, and horsepower he could fit into four minutes.

The video is also crammed with legends of Texas hip-hop, including Bun B, Slim Thug, and more. As the trio’s guests gyrate to the no-doubt booming bass from the circled-up, showstopping slabs, the rappers perform their verses and sip from styrofoam cups, completing the image of a good, old-fashioned Texas shindig. Interestingly, “Down South” is the third video from the Folarin II rollout, but it was the first single. Wale also dropped videos for “Poke It Out,” featuring J. Cole, and “Angles” with Chris Brown.

Watch Wale’s ‘Down South’ video featuring Maxo Kream and Yella Beezy above. You can read Uproxx’s autumn digital cover story on Wale here.

Folarin II is due 10/22 via Warner Records and MMG. You can pre-save it here.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
