Lou Phelps Loves The “SOUND OF MONEY”

On his new track, “SOUND OF MONEY,” Lou Phelps teams up with Madlib, (who he referred to as “the God” in a recent Instagram post) to create a California-cool track that’s perfect to add to your rotation if you’re already feeling that summer nostalgia creep in.

“I love the sound of money/I love the sound of change/If you ain’t talking money/Get the fuck out the way,” the Montreal rapper begins, creating a vibe that he described as “light and fun” to Complex.

“Usually MCs that rap over these sample-based beats tend to have serious or conscious bars, which is fine, but that specific instrumental sounded light and fun to me, so I did my best to match that energy.”

Back in May, Phelps released “Supersexe Freestyle,” which has been described as “raunchy” by some. As Complex points out, “SOUND OF MONEY” shows a different side of Phelps, proving to listeners that he’s definitely got range.

On top of the fire singles, the 27-year-old also has two albums under his belt – 2018’s 002 / LOVE ME and 2020’s EXTRA EXTRA!.

Along with the new track, Phelps also fed his fans a new music video, which you can watch above.

Quotable Lyrics:

Fuck a list, I’ll probably buy your baby mama kids Nintendo Switch
Got em confused, calling me daddy
Tell your shorty Imma pull up, give me the addy

Young Thug Is Suing An Atlanta Apartment Owner He Blames For Losing Over 200 Songs

Young Thug is suing his apartment’s owners after losing a bag full of money and unreleased music, according to Digital Music News. According to documents viewed by DMN, Thugger had been leasing an apartment at a high-end Atlanta building called Trace, where he accidentally left a $2,500 Louis Vuitton bag next to his car after returning from Los Angeles late last year. Apparently, the bag was turned into the building’s 24-hour concierge by a helpful neighbor and Thugger was contacted about the bag, which contained around $94,000 worth of jewelry and $40,000 in cash, as well as a hard drive containing around 200 unreleased songs.

Despite the concierge employee on-duty at the time leaving a clear note to contact her before releasing the bag to anyone else, another employee gave the bag to an unidentified third party, who unsurprisingly has yet to return any of the missing items. Thug’s lawsuit accuses the building’s ownership group of being “unreasonable and stubbornly litigious” and blames the group for “negligent supervision and failure to train” its concierge team members.

Meanwhile, despite losing the hard drive and the expensive items — which he says amounts to around $1 million — Thug’s not having all that bad of a year. His newly released album Punk is trending toward a top-three Billboard debut, according to Hits Daily Double, and has received positive chatter on social media.

Meek Mill Reveals When He Plans To Retire From Rap

Meek Mill recently revealed how much time he feels he has left in the rap game, and his answer will likely upset many of his fans.

For the last decade, the 34-year-old rapper has been a driving force for hip-hop out of Philadelphia, but he doesn’t think he’ll be rapping for much longer. During a recent interview with Complex, Meek revealed that he’ll probably be hanging up his microphone within the next five years.

“I got like three or four more years left,” said Meek during the interview. “That’s it! I’ve been rapping since I was 23. I can’t be performing forever. I think these the last years I’m going hard with music and then I’m gonna pursue other stuff.”

Releasing his latest studio album Expensive Pain a few weeks ago, Meek has remained active as an artist, dropping off new projects every few months. He promises to keep doing so until he retires, but don’t fret if you need to hear Meek’s gritty street bars after he hangs it all up. He also told Complex that, for the right price of an NFT, he’ll always be rapping.

“At the same time, I’ll still make music. But going on tour, working on the albums for six months, being away from my family that long? I give up,” said Meek. “Let the young n***as come up next and see who moves me out the way.”

Despite his plan to retire in the next five years, Meek also stated that he wants to drop “four or five more albums” before that happens.

“I have a point to prove. People don’t really, really be fucking with me like that, so I’m going to keep charging the doors every three or four months on some rapping shit,” he added.

Do you want Meek to continue rapping into his forties, or is that a good time for him to start focusing on other streams of revenue?

Passengers Film Woman Being Raped On Philadelphia Train Rather Then Helping

Passengers on a train in Philadelphia merely recorded on their phones as a woman was raped for six uninterrupted minutes, according to Transit Police. The only person to call 911 was an off-duty officer who helped lead to the arrest of the alleged rapist.

“We want everyone to be angry, disgusted, and to join us in being resolute in keeping our system safe,” Transit Police Chief Thomas Nestel III said at a news conference on Monday. “We need the public to notify us when they see something that seems to be unusual.”

SEPTA has denounced the crime as a “horrendous criminal act,” and said their off-duty spokesperson could sense “something wasn’t right.”

“Anybody that was on that train has to look in the mirror and ask why they didn’t intervene or why they didn’t do something,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt told CNN on Monday. “Collectively, they could have gotten together and done something.”

Bernhardt praised the victim for coming forward and says they did not know the assailant.

The suspect, identified as Fiston M. Ngoy, has been charged with rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and more. He is being held on $180,000 bail at Delaware County Prison.

Charlize Theron Thanks “Village Of Strong Black Women” Who Help Her Raise Her Daughters

When she’s not busy starring in hit films like Bombshell, Atomic Blonde, or Mad Max: Fury Road, Charlize Theron can be found hanging out with her two adoptive daughters – 9-year-old Jackson, and 5-year-old August.

In her latest project, the South African actress has reprised the role of Morticia Addams for the animated family flick, The Addams Family 2. According to Essence, Theron is excited to finally be able to share her work with her family.

“I felt very lucky to be asked to be a part of this. I definitely do not get to share a lot of my work with my kids. They’ll probably be in their late 50’s before they get to see anything [else] that I’ve done.”

Theron is a white woman, and both of her children are Black. The actress has acknowledged that because of this, she may not always have all of the answers they require, but she does have friends who she can lean on for support.

“I am so grateful to the incredible village of strong Black women in my life who I can pick up a phone to, or come over to my house and they’ll tell me: ‘You need to stop doing this,’ or ‘these baby hairs are breaking off. What are you doing?’”

The Long Shot actress also said that her Black friends “put [her] in [her] place,” and because of that, she feels “great confidence” in raising her two young children.

“I have a real acknowledgment, as we all do as parents – we know where we lack and we know where we are rich,” the 46-year-old said.

Drake Dominates 2 On 2 Basketball Game, Acknowledges “Jeez Louise” Meme

Ever since Drake revealed the full-size basketball court inside his Toronto estate, “The Embassy,” countless stories have come out of The Six God’s home gym.

From multiple tributes to the late Kobe Bryant, to the rec league Drizzy set up for he and his friends, to the news that the 34-year-old tore his ACL while on the hardwood, it seems like there is always something basketball-related going on north of the border and Drake’s always involved in it.

Following his return to the Toronto Raptors’ broadcast last week and basketball YouTuber K Showtime poking fun at Drizzy for his infamous “Breathe, breathe, don’t tell me to breathe … ayo, bring me a shot!,” IG Live which has recently been recirculating on TikTok, the “0 to 100” rapper was back on the court, this time playing 2 on 2 alongside Showtime himself.

Rocking a Toronto Raptors #6 jersey with “The Boy” scrawled across the back, Drizzy splashes a couple of tough jumpers and even slides down to the block to show off his post moves. Drake and Showtime eventually win their matchup 12-10 but it wouldn’t be a Drake basketball video without a couple jokes flying around.

Along with Drake’s complaints that his opponents tried to mess with his three-point release and sneakily switched basketballs mid-game, Wheelchair Jimmy had to take a second to acknowledge the most-recent Drake meme floating around the internet.

After getting his shooting arm slapped mid-shot, Drizzy let out a hearty “Jeez Louise, man!” as he walked to the top of the key to check up. And as a not-so-subtle wink at all the meme creators out there, he dropped a, “Drake’s the type of guy to say jeez Louise,” before ensuring that he would be making the foul call and taking the ball back.

Whether or not Drake’s basketball abilities will ever take him further than The Embassy’s courts is yet to be seen, but based on the fact that we seem to get a new hoop video every couple of weeks points to the fact that Drizzy takes pickup hoops seriously. And like every 34-year-old dude still playing pickup, he’s going to talk his sh*t and make a couple jokes in the process.

Young Thug Explains He Wasn’t Trolling Lil Wayne By Naming Mixtape “Carter 6”

Young Thug finds trolling corny, so it didn’t even cross his mind that people believed he was playing with Lil Wayne when he announced that he was naming his mixtape Carter 6 a few years ago. Thugger made the announcement before Wayne had even dropped Tha Carter V, and his legal team eventually filed a lawsuit against Thug, demanding that he change the title of his project. He ended up releasing Barter 6 instead, which is widely recognized as one of his best bodies of work to date.

However, Thug doesn’t think that this was a troll move at all. In fact, he’s confused about why Wayne was so bothered about it, claiming that he was simply trying to “be like” Tunechi.

When Charlamagne Tha God asked the rapper about his current relationship with Wayne, Thug responded that they’ve been to the studio a few times together before getting back into stories about how Wayne allegedly refused to shake Thug’s hand when they met, and more.

“It’s a lot of little shit,” said the Slime General about Wayne’s reception to the Carter 6 announcement. “I’m a gangster, bro. Certain shit corny to me, like, trolling a n***a is corny. I don’t think I ever was trolling him. I really wanted to be like him! He just seemed weird ’cause it’s like, this n***a calling you gay but you steady saying this or that. You steady trying to name your album the same thing he named his.”

Thankfully, Thug and Wayne appear to have a stronger relationship in 2021, popping up in the studio together as recently as a few weeks ago.

Tiwa Savage Responds After Sex Tape Leaks Online

Tiwa Savage has spoken out after her sex tape reportedly leaked online. The rising Afrobeats star had previously revealed that someone was attempting to extort her with the video.

“You hated how I was able to control the narrative and get ahead of a story before it consumed me and how I was able to joke on stage about something you thought will destroy me and make me ashamed,” she posted on her Instagram story, Monday.

She added: “You must knock my head when you see me otherwise with my full chest.”

In a recent interview with Angie Martinez, Savage revealed that a stranger had sent her team a copy of the video and demanded money. The singer refused.

“I’m not going to allow anyone to blackmail me for doing something that is natural,” she said during the interview. “That’s what’s making me angry. No, you’re not going to do that to me. If you’re gonna do that…I’m that crazy that I could put it out myself. You’re not making any money from this.”

“This is an intimate moment with someone I’m dating,” she added, explaining that her partner is a private citizen and not famous. “My mom having to see this. My son…”

Brian Laundrie Allegedly Caught On Camera By Florida Man 3 Hours From His Home

As the hunt for Brian Laundrie continues, new footage of what may be the wanted man has been obtained by TMZ. The clip came from a Dunnellon, Florida resident who told the gossip site that the clip was filmed on one of the surveillance cameras on the outskirts of his property earlier this month.

The witness also said that he has several acres of rural land behind his home that lays along a sugar sand path that seldom receives visitors travelling by foot, or vehicle. The video obtained by TMZ shows a man, who does look like Laundrie, from what we can see, anyway, riding a bike down the trail.

The owner of the footage reportedly passed it along to the FBI for review, after catching the man on camera on October 9th, although Laundrie still currently remains at large over a week later.

Others have recently claimed to have spotted the Florida native, who is the main person of interest in the death of his fiancée, Gabby Petito, hiking on the Appalachian trail, but it’s truly hard to say where he could be as of right now.

Last week, we reported that Petito’s father, Joseph shared a sweet tribute to his daughter on Twitter while on a trip to Wyoming to collect her ashes.

“I know why you came here now,” he wrote alongside a photo of the lake near where the 22-year-old was found. “#gabbypetito has a beautiful view from now on. Love you, and miss you.”

Wale Drops Trailer For “Folarin 2” Along With New Snippet

The long-awaited follow up to Wale’s 2012 Folarin is almost here.

Folarin 2the second project boasting the D.C. rapper’s last name, is set to drop this Friday, October 22, and just a couple of days ahead of its release, Wale has released both an album trailer, and a snippet of a new song to go along with it.

The trailer, which walks us through a timeline of old Wale music videos and tells the story of a young artist evolving into a 37-year-old veteran of the rap game, is backed by a snippet of a new song, presumably off Folarin 2

Throughout the snippet, Wale raps “I do the sh*t that they never done, I see the sh*t they could never see, honestly I’m really one of one, honestly I got no company.” Setting the stage for what feels like will be a culmination of 15 years’ worth of music, the Folarin 2 trailer is a regal display of exactly what Wale has told us he is so many times — one of the greatest rappers of all time.

A couple months ago, the “Ambition” rapper tweeted that, when he says he is one of the greatest rappers of all time, he means it with all his heart. Going on to explain that he has dropped “more QUALITY than most” and that his “singles all got plaques,” Wale made it very clear what he thinks of himself and his place in hip-hop history.

And according to the Folarin 2 trailer, this new project will be a glowing endorsement of those sentiments. With the J. Cole-assisted “Poke It Out” doing well on radio and southern-style banger “Down South” bringing a ton of energy to the project, there is sure to be a variety of records included on Folarin 2, but it’d be foolish not to expect Wale to do some reminiscing and pondering about his status as one of the greatest to ever hop on the mic.

Check out the trailer for Folarin 2 below and let us know what you think in the comments.
