Yebba Releases Live Version Of “Dawn” Hit “Boomerang”

“Yebba’s Heartbreak” is the most beautiful song on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy.

Between shots at nameless women and cautionary tales about living and loving in 2021, “Yebba’s Heartbreak” stood out as a legitimate love song — a ballad, if you will. The only CLB track sans-Drake, singer/songwriter Yebba Smith handled all of the vocals and delivered one of the most moving performances of the year.

One week later, Yebba came back with her own album, Dawn, and hit fans directly in their collective heart.

“Boomerang,” Dawn‘s third track, tells a story of an ex lover and includes the guarantee that everything they did to hurt Yebba, will come back around to get them. The song, which already received an official music video, was well-received and with it’s sustained success, the “Yebba’s Heartbreak” singer decided to give it a live treatment. Backed by Charles Myers on the guitar, Burniss Travis playing bass, Malachi Mabson on the keys, & Justin Tyson playing drums, Yebba belts out the threatening-but-groovy record in a lamplit studio and “Boomerang” is brought to life.

Quotable Lyrics
If I shoot him in the stomach
Then he’s hurting on my dime
And if I shoot him in the head
Then he’s dead and he’s livin’ on my mind

LaMelo Ball Flexes With Yellow Lambo And Matching Outfit

Last night was big for LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets as it was their first game of the regular season. The match was against the Indiana Pacers and for many, it was an important game as it would allow the Hornets to set a ton for the season. With Ball winning rookie of the year in 2021, there are big expectations for his sophomore season, and if you were watching last night, you quickly came to the conclusion that Melo is not to be messed with.

After being down 23 points in the game, Melo helped mount a monstrous comeback as he put up 31 points, including some phenomenal three-point shots towards the end. The Hornets ended up winning by just one point, and it turned out to be all on the shoulders of Melo’s heroics.

After the game, Melo flexed a bit for the cameras as he took to Instagram with a photo of himself standing next to an all-yellow Lamborghini, all while wearing a yellow suit and black shirt. The fit went pretty hard and it was the perfect way to make a statement after finishing off what was an impressive comeback.

If Melo leads this Hornets squad to a playoff spot, then he will certainly be among some of the best point guards in the entire NBA. Hopefully, he’s able to keep up this pace.

Wack 100 Defends Bleu DaVinci As BMF’s JBo Makes Fun Of Him

Bleu DaVinci recently issued a warning to 50 Cent and other BMF producers not to play with his name. “I’m coming to see you,” he said, telling producers that if they depicted him in a negative manner on the show, he would not be happy.

His warning reminded people of Bleu’s previous legal case, during which he was accused of becoming a federal informant and having time shaved off of his sentence when Big Meech got locked up. As that talk amplified in the last few days, rap manager Wack 100 seemingly defended the accused snitch by sharing a report that notes Bleu DaVinci was the only person from his group that didn’t cooperate with the feds.

“Documentation beats conversation,” said Wack. “Don’t ask me bout @bleudavinci you can read bout em yourself — OH it was some foul balls being threw but #BleauDavinchi dam sure wasn’t the pitcher. Naw wasn’t him! NOW GO PLAY THE LOTTERY & TALK ABOUT THOSE OTHER 10 WHO SIGNED THE AGREEMENTS!”

Following Wack’s defense of Bleu DaVinci, BMF’s second-in-command Chad “JBo” Brown laughed at the rapper trying to rejoin their group, sharing a clip from the 1991 film The Five Heartbeats when Eddie Kane Jr. tried to get back with his old squad. It’s clear that JBo doesn’t want Bleu DaVinci anywhere near BMF.

Deandre Ayton Reacts To Failed Contract Talks With The Suns

Deandre Ayton had a phenomenal breakout season with the Phoenix Suns last year and he was a key factor in the team going to the NBA Finals. Eventually, the Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, although it was clear that Ayton was a player that the Suns needed to lock down for the long-term. In the offseason, contract extension talks began as Ayton is still on his rookie deal and isn’t making the kind of money he deserves.

Eventually, it became clear that the team was not willing to give him the five-year, max contract that he wanted. The team was more or less looking at three to four years and it eventually became contentious enough for a deal to fall through. Now, the deadline has passed, and Ayton can’t negotiate until a few months down the line.

Recently, Ayton got to talk to reporters about the ordeal, and as he explained, he is pretty disappointed with everything that is going on. He wants to play for the Suns long-term, and despite everything, he is still focused on getting to the NBA Finals.

“One thing about me, throughout my whole life, I’ve always learned to control what I can control,” Ayton said. “At the same time, obviously I’m disappointed, but I’m still trying to get us back to the finals.”

This is a developing story so stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates.

NYC Board Of Health Passes Resolution That Declares Racism A Public Health Crisis

In addition to acknowledging the threat of racism to modern society, many cities across the United States have gone a step further and declared racism to be a public health crisis. As of Monday, October 18, New York City has joined that growing list.

According to Complex, The NYC Board of Health has passed a resolution that declares racism a public health crisis, and in order to combat it, the Board of Health has outlined seven specific steps for the state’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to follow, from “[researching, clarifying, and acknowledging] examples of its historic role in divesting and underinvesting in critical community-led health programs” to “[consulting] with relevant community organizations [to] perform an anti-racism review of the NYC Health Code.”

“To build a healthier New York City, we must confront racism as a public health crisis,” Health Commissioner Dr. Dave A. Chokshi said in regard to the Health Board’s newly passed resolution. “The COVID-19 pandemic magnified inequities, leading to suffering disproportionately borne by communities of color in our City and across our nation. But these inequities are not inevitable. Today is a historic day for the country’s oldest Board of Health to officially recognize this crisis and demand action.”

You can read the NYC Board of Health’s full resolution here.

Protests erupted after the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Wallace Jr, who Philadelphia police officers claimed was armed with a knife.

Although it officially passed the aforementioned resolution earlier this week, this isn’t the New York City Board of Health’s first time addressing racism as a public health crisis. Last summer, following the murder of George Floyd, issued a statement alongside the hashtag #RacismIsAPublicHealthCrisis, saying:

Racism is a public health crisis. The murder of Goerge Floyd at the hands of police officers is part of the system of racism that permits police brutality, unjust policing and mass incarceration. IN NYC, Black and Brown communities face the disproportionate impact, grief and loss from the COVID-19 pandemic on top of the trauma of state sanctioned violence. The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is committed to addressing structural racism within our own institution and addressing racism as a social determinant of health as part of our mission to protect the health of New Yorkers. To make lasting change, we call on our sister city agencies to address structural racism in their own organizations: Join us in this stand against injustice to do better in service of Black, Brown, and all New Yorkers.

New York’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has now laid out initiatives to address racism as a public health crisis, so stay tuned to see how the city contributes to the fight against racism.

HER Brings Her Soaring Heartbreak Ballad ‘For Anyone’ To An Intimate Performance On ‘Colbert’

It’s been a few months since Academy Award and multi-Grammy-winning artist HER released her swooning album Back Of My Mind. She’s currently on tour across the country supporting the album’s release, but she managed to stop by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to share an intimate rendition of her emotive track “For Anyone.”

The performance opened with HER seated at a bedazzled piano and sporting her signature round glasses. Though she was joined by some backup singers and accompanying musicians, her room-filling vocals alone were enough to mesmerize as she sang of closing herself off to love after a particularly painful heartbreak.

Ahead of her performance on The Late Show, HER gave an interview with Vulture where she talked about how many people perceive her as an “industry plant,” a word that’s meant to call out nepotism, but is oftentimes used to discredit the hard work a woman has put in to get where she is in the music industry. “With social media, people think they know everything about success. People see my success now, and they don’t understand the sacrifices, the 15-hour days in the studio, the pressure from my parents to go to college,” she said.

HER went on to explain the work she put in to reach her level of credibility: “For me, I grinded it out kinda like a rapper: I dropped a mixtape, nobody knew who I was, it was a very slow build, and here we are now. The awards shows and all that stuff, that was surprising to me. But I realized, Oh my gosh, I’ve arrived, and in a different way. You don’t need some No. 1 radio single — even though I got that!”

Lil Baby Forgot To Send Young Thug HIs Verse For ‘Bubbly’ From ‘Punk’

Lil Baby is beginning to develop a habit of not turning in his verses for people’s albums. Last year, he admitted that he was supposed to be featured on Drake’s viral dance hit “Toosie Slide” but didn’t send his verse, missing out on another momentous opportunity. Now, a year later, it looks like he still hasn’t learned his lesson. This time, he missed out on inclusion in Young THug’s new album Punk, where he was originally slated to appear on “Bubbly” — which, incidentally, also features Drake, as well as Travis Scott.

Lil Baby revealed as much in a video he posted on TikTok. In the video, Baby gets edged up by his barber while playing a snippet of the now-unused verse with a voiceover reading the caption: “When Young Thug send you a song for his album and you forget to send it back.”

For what it’s worth, he has been a bit busy of late. Not only is he finally touring for his breakout 2020 album My Turn, that tour also doubles as a showcase for songs from his summer 2021 joint album with Lil Durk, The Voice Of The Heroes. Not to mention, he’s already done countless other features this year, becoming one of hip-hop’s most ubiquitous acts. Still, though, he may want to start setting himself reminders or hire an assistant to remind him to send those verses off.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “MX Oat” Release Date Confirmed

After earlier reports built anticipation around a never-before-seen Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2, the “MX Oat”, it seems the shoe is officially set to release within the week. The new Yeezy Boost colorway was announced via the Three Stripes brand themselves via Twitter, along with additional images of the shoe, with confirmed drop dates in select countries.

The all-new version of the famous Yeezy Boost 350 V2 features a unique, Primeknit multicolored pattern, that aesthetically deviates from the standard Boost 350 V2 design. Specifics on the “MX Oat” include a primary, yellow-tan colorway making up the shoe’s base color, with a translucent stripe running down the side of the new Yeezy Boost. Other details include the new Primeknit pattern, which features multicolored streaks of orange, blue, and yellow that run throughout the shoe, different from prior Yeezy Boost 350 V2 styles. Additionally, the “MX Oat” sits atop the standard Boost cushioning on its midsole, with lightly-toned tan laces that bring the colorway together.

The Kanye West-designed shoe was originally estimated to release in the fall, and this week, Adidas confirms those prior reports. The “MX Oat” is officially set to drop this Saturday, October 23rd, available for purchase at adidas.com/yeezy, in North America and Europe, as well as on the Adidas app in other select countries. The shoe is also expected to sell at a retail price of $220.

Deshaun Watson News: Eagles Sent Investigator To Houston Amid Trade Talks

Deshaun Watson remains on the Houston Texans’ roster right now although he has not played a single snap as he is looking for a trade away from the team. Watson has also been battling a slew of sexual assault lawsuits as 22 massage therapists in Texas have accused him of inappropriate conduct in what was supposed to be a professional setting.

With Watson’s allegations in mind, potential trade suitors have been concerned about whether or not he will be good to go whenever he does get the trade he wants. In fact, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Philadelphia Eagles took things a step further as they sent an investigator to Houston to check up on the QB.

In the end, the Eagles opted to back out of this whole thing as they quickly realized that Watson had no interest in playing for the franchise. As for any future trades that Watson is actually interested in, it would appear as though Watson could be on his way to the Miami Dolphins by the end of the week. There is no guarantee that this happens, although the Dolphins seem eager to get things done as their team is struggling at a record of 1-5.

There is still a lot that needs to be determined here, so keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates from around the NFL.
