DMX Family Issues Statement Regarding His Estate

DMX’s family has issued a statement after it was revealed that the rapper’s three eldest sons were appointed the temporary co-administrators of his estate.

“DMX’s ex-wife Tashera Simmons’ oldest sons, Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons, and Tacoma Simmons, have been appointed temporary co-administrators of the estate of Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons pursuant to a decision of the Westchester County Surrogate’s Court today,” wrote DMX’s PR representative in a new press release. “They will now exclusively manage the affairs of their late father’s estate. The estate has retained entertainment attorney Ron Sweeney of Ron Sweeney and Company to exclusively handle all entertainment-related matters. Estate Attorney, Herb Nass is the attorney for the Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons estate and the sons as co-administrators.”

This news comes after a woman came forward this weekend and claimed to be DMX’s fifteenth child, asking to be included in proceedings related to his estate planning.

Estate attorney Herb Nass has announced that all fifteen people who claim to be DMX’s children will be taking paternity tests in the coming weeks to determine whether they are actually related to the rapper. “The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs,” he said. “The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate.”

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to keep you posted as more information comes out regarding DMX’s estate.

Dave Chappelle Lays Out Terms For Discussion With LGBTQ+ Netflix Employees

It’s been three weeks since The Closer hit Netflix and the controversy surrounding Dave Chappelle still has no clear end in sight.

During The Closer, Chappelle went on a lengthy rant about the LGBTQ+ community, a group he has targeted with “jokes” in previous Netflix specials, and used DaBaby as a pawn in his argument. Explaining that DaBaby was cancelled faster for his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud than he was for shooting and killing a man in self defense in a North Carolina Wal-Mart, Chappelle boiled down a bunch of facts into the loose message that you will be punished more quickly and more severely for offending a community of people than you would for killing another human being.

In the days following The Closer, Chappelle received a ton of backlash for his comments and there have been increasingly louder calls for Netflix to remove the special from the streaming platform. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos nixed that idea, and has publicly voiced his support for Chappelle. However, after firing an employee who threatened to organize a walk out in protest of Chappelle and The Closer, Sarandos admitted he had mishandled the whole situation.

Despite Chappelle’s repeated claims that he is unbothered by the backlash and that he “loves being cancelled,” it had been rumored that the 48-year-old was willing to speak with the Netflix employees who participated in the October 20 walk out, and this weekend, in an appearance at Nashville’s Bridgestone arena, Chappelle laid out the terms for having a discussion.

The first condition, according to a TMZ report, is that anybody who wants to talk to him has to watch The Closer from start to finish. The second: the discussion has to take place at a time and place of Chappelle’s choosing. And third, whoever wants to speak to him has to admit that Hannah Gadsby, the Australian comedian who tore Chappelle and Netflix apart in response to The Closer, is not funny.

While the first two conditions seem fair enough, the third is sure to cause even more controversy, and is yet another example of Chappelle’s flippant response to the entire situation. Whether or not he ever actually sits down with Netflix employees is obviously yet to be seen, but it’s doubtful that a condition as subjective as “admit this person who posted mean things about me is not funny,” will be met with much humor or willingness to talk about it.

What do you think of Chappelle’s conditions for a discussion? Let us know in the comments.

LeBron James Was Stunned While Playing Against His Son’s Former Teammate

Now that LeBron James is 36 years old, he has a different perspective on the world, especially as it pertains to the game of basketball. Every single year, he gets to see new players make their way into the league, and it allows him to reflect on how he was as a rookie. This year, the players coming into the league are about half of his age, and it is certainly making him feel a bit old, even if he is schooling them every change he gets.

Yesterday, LeBron experienced a true full-circle moment as his Lakers took on the Memphis Grizzlies. One of the rookies on the Grizzlies is none other than Ziaire Williams, who played with Bronny James Jr. at Sierra Canyon. Yes, that’s right, LeBron is now playing against guys who played with his own son.

After the game, LeBron was asked about the experience, and as he explained, it was a very strange one. Being on the court with a guy his son played with was jarring, and LeBron was almost speechless about it.

“I looked at Ziaire a couple of times, and I was just shaking my head inside,” LeBron said. “It’s a weird dynamic for myself to see something like that but, happy for the kid obviously but I definitely had a moment for sure.”

LeBron will certainly have more of these moments over the next couple of years and perhaps one day, he can even share the court with Bronny. No matter what, it’s a sign that all of us are getting old whether we like it or not.

Quando Rondo Under Fire For Allegedly Dating High-Schooler

Savannah, Georgia rapper Quando Rondo is presently under fire from fans who are upset after he started showing off his new girlfriend on social media, who many are claiming is a high school senior. While it’s possible for a senior to be over eighteen years old, some think it’s a strange decision for Quando to be going public with his new girl, given the fact that she may be underage.

The controversial rapper has shared a number of pictures with his new partner, who describes herself as a senior in her Instagram bio. In one photo, she straddles him and in another, Quando grabs a handful of her behind. The two don’t have too many years between them, which has some fans defending the rapper, who is 22-years-old.

Some of Quando’s fans have been commenting on this situation, telling the rapper he’s “out of line” for allegedly dating a high schooler. This is just the latest news in a string of stories that have hurt Quando’s rise over the last year. In November 2020, he was involved in an altercation with King Von, which led to the Chicago rapper’s death. Since then, he’s been seemingly walking on eggshells as he tries to navigate a career in the music industry.

Signed to Never Broke Again, Quando will be featured on the upcoming compilation project from YoungBoy Never Broke Again. As we wait for that, check out what people are saying about his new relationship below.

Donda is officially Kanye West’s fastest album to reach one billion streams on Spotify, according to new statistics from Chart Data. The new album was released on August 29, just under two months ago.

The project features appearances from Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Jay Electronica, Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, and more. One name missing from the tracklist is Chris Brown, who West removed from the song “New Again,” after the album had been released.

West recently submitted the album, as well as a song from it to be considered for the GRAMMYs. “Hurricane” with Lil Baby and The Weeknd could be nominated for Record of the Year, while the album as a whole might be up for Album of the Year.

Rivaling West’s Donda, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy reached the one billion stream milestone on Spotify back on October 2nd, despite only releasing on September 3.

After the release of Donda, West announced that he is launching a California prep school, Donda Academy

The school’s official mission is to “prepare students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators,” by providing kids with “a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.”

Masai Ujiri Was Almost Sabotaged By One Of The Raptors’ Owners

Masai Ujiri is the architect of the Toronto Raptors’ huge championship victory in 2019 and over the past couple of years, there has been an extended effort to keep him in Toronto. There have always been rumors about which teams and what leagues want Ujiri to run their operation and it’s been hard for the Raptors and their owners to remain competitive. While most of the Raptors ownership team respects Ujiri immensely, there is at least one person praying on his downfall.

According to a brand new report from The Toronto Star, the former chairman of Rogers Communications, Edward Rogers, tried desperately to make sure Ujiri didn’t want to come back. According to the bombshell article, Rogers had a meeting with Ujiri and afterward, described the Raptors president as arrogant while trying to claim that he brought bodyguards to the meeting. In reality, Ujiri was there with his driver and a camera person who was doing content for Ujiri’s non-profit organization Giants of Africa.

After this meeting, Rogers called Ujiri to tell him that he wasn’t worth the money that the rest of the owners wanted to pay him. Understandably, Ujiri was shocked and almost took a year off from the franchise.

Rogers owns 37.5 percent of the company while Bell owns the same amount. From there, the last 25 percent is owned by Larry Tanenbaum who runs the ownership group MLSE. With Rogers trying to create a power grab, Bell and Tanenbaum were able to overrule him. They then made sure that Ujiri got the contract that he deserved, and now, the team President will be with the franchise for years to come.

As for Rogers, he is no longer the chairman of the company as the board ultimately kicked him out. Needless to say, being a hater doesn’t get you very far in this world, and Ujiri has gotten the last laugh.

Baby Keem Explains Those Wild Kendrick Lamar Ad-Libs On His Album For ‘Desus And Mero’

As one of the hottest emerging talents in hip-hop right now, Baby Keem is the perfect guest to appear on Desus & Mero, where the Bronx duo got in-depth on the 20-year-old Las Vegas rapper’s debut album, The Melodic Blue. One of the questions addressed to him by the hilarious hosts mentioned the wild ad-libs on his songs with Kendrick Lamar on the album, especially the head-turning “Range Brothers.” After becoming fodder for a plethora of memes, Kendrick’s repeated cries of “top o’ the morning” and “let’s get this sh*t” elicited chuckles from both the hosts and their guest as they asked where the two rappers’ energy comes from.

“I think in the booth is where I’m most myself,” Keem mused. “And I’m around the people that get the most out of me. I think that’s it. I’m just comfortable in my environment.” He also addresses the memes sparked by his album, saying his favorite is the dancing cowboy and expressing a wish to contact the creator.

Meanwhile, Desus & Mero is quickly becoming the go-to show for rap artists to promote their new work, as the laid-back vibe and insider perspective have proven to be perfect for drawing out gems from the likes of Lil Nas X, Bobby Shmurda, Chance The Rapper, and the original Nas in recent months. The Bodega Boys’ brand was always brolic but now, it’s becoming better defined — and helping to define the shape and direction of modern-day hip-hop.
