“Gorilla Glue Girl” Tessica Brown Tried To Get A Nicki Minaj Feature For Debut Single

At the top of the year, Tessica Brown went viral as the “Gorilla Glue Girl,” and after countless jokes and headlines over the past several months, she is ready to reclaim her narrative and move past the horrifying ordeal. During the summer, she launched her Forever Hair haircare line, which consisted of hair growth oil, edge control, and hair spray, and this week, she will also be launching her career as a music artist.

On Friday, November 19, Tessica Brown will be releasing “Ma Hair” on all streaming services, a single produced by indie music producer and engineer Phil Valley. “Ma Hair” will serve as Brown’s first attempt at rapping, and the decision to release the song comes months after she sent out cease and desist orders over the viral “Bad Idea” song.

Tessica Brown is seen on February 10, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon has reportedly offered to help Brown after she went viral on social media for using Gorilla Glue as hairspray and asked how to remove it.

According to TMZBrown’s team even reached out to Nicki Minaj’s camp in hopes of scoring a feature on “Ma Hair,” but they reportedly never even got a reply from the Beam Me Up Scotty rapper. Considering that Nicki can be extremely selective when it comes to doing guest features, some people may wonder why Tessica Brown tried to get the Queen artist on her very first single.

Apparently, Brown’s team reaching out was inspired by Nicki Minaj’s hard-hitting track “Fractions” from the Beam Me Up Scotty reissue. Towards the end of the song, Nicki rapped, “Sex game still cold, it’s on igloo/Head game slicker than little miss Gorilla Glue,” and Brown’s team thought that her Gorilla Glue bar may have been a sign that she was willing to collaborate.

Alas, when “Ma Hair” releases, it will not feature Nicki Minaj in any capacity, but it will reportedly contain remixed snippets from her original viral TikTok video.

Will you be giving Tessica Brown’s debut single “Ma Hair” a listen when it hits streaming services on Friday?

Soujla Boy Gets Serious On New Single “Stretch Some”

Soulja Boy has been a mainstay in the internet music scene for the better part of two decades now, and has mastered the formula on how to stay relevant in the rap game.

Recently announcing that his upcoming album Big Draco 2 is dropping this Friday, November 19, the “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” rapper dropped off a preview of the record, with his new single, “Stretch Some.”

“Stretch Some” finds Soulja Boy playing with a handful of different melodies, and spitting lyrics that can best be described as standard fare for Big Draco. But in the context of the tragic shooting and killing of Memphis hip hop legend Young Dolph, with whom Soulja Boy had recent beef, fans and other rappers, including Trouble, pointed out the questionable timing of “Stretch Some.”

Soulja Boy denied that any lyrics were in reference to Dolph, and said that the song was leaked weeks ago.

Quotable Lyrics
I done busted down my watch and a new
This rap sh*t is so lame
I done got
I’m still reppin’ Money Gang

New Video Shows Young Dolph Moments Before Shooting

Memphis rapper Young Dolph passed away on Wednesday afternoon in his hometown following a shooting at Makeda’s Cookies. The well-respected rapper was 36-years-old.

He had returned to his neighborhood for his annual Thanksgiving giveaway, which was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The rapper was picking up cookies at his favorite store before presumably heading over to the Thanksgiving drive. Before he was able to leave the bakery though, he was fatally shot.

Photos of his alleged shooters have been released on social media, and a new video shows Young Dolph’s final moments as he was filling up gas at a station down the street from Makeda’s Cookies. Wach the video here.

The video was reportedly filmed from somebody at a neighboring pump, who caught a glimpse of the rapper walking toward his camouflage-wrapped Corvette in a yellow t-shirt and jeans. Witnesses say that he went from the gas station directly to Makeda’s Cookies, where he was shot.

His killers reportedly escaped the scene in a light Mercedes-Benz. They have not been arrested or identified. Anybody with additional information is being asked to contact 901-528-CASH.

As more information continues to be released regarding Dolph’s murder, we are sending our love and prayers to Dolph’s family, his partner, their kids, and everyone at the EMPIRE team, as well as his label Paper Route EMPIRE. Long Live Dolph.

Freddie Gibbs Announces New Single “Black Illuminati” Featuring Jadakiss Is Dropping Tonight

Back in July, Freddie Gibbs announced that his upcoming album would be titled SSS aka Soul Sold Separately, and told Complex that the record “is probably going to be the best album I did.”

For a guy who released Bandana and Alfredo in back-to-back years (2019 and 2020) that is a bold statement, but when it comes to Gibbs, there’s no reason to doubt anything he says. Time and time again, the Piñata rapper has proven that he is one of the best rappers in the game, so if he says this new record is going to be his best, it’s hard not to believe him.

Adding that SSS was going to have “more features” than previous projects, Gibbs waited until November to reveal the star-studded list of producers that will appear on the album. “Madlib, Alchemist, Boi 1da, Pharrell, Jake One, DJ Paul, Justice League, Working On Dying, Seven Thomas, Tay Keith, Kaytranada, Bizness Boi… I got the best album of the year,” Gibbs tweeted, adding Kenny Beats to the super-producer lineup later on.

Today, just over a week since revealing whose beats will appear on the album, Gibbs announced what is presumably a track from SSS. Complete with a Simpsons-themed trailer and song snippet, Gibbs said that “Black Illuminati” featuring Jadakiss will drop tonight at midnight.

It’s exciting anytime two legends link up for a record, but after Gibbs dominated 2020 and continued his run with a handful of freestyles and guest verses throughout 2021, and Jadakiss dominated every Verzuz stage he’s stepped foot on, “Black Illuminati” is almost certainly going to be something special. And while we still wait for an SSS release date, a single is satisfying enough.

Asian Doll Acussed Of Clout Chasing Following Young Dolph’s Death

On Wednesday, November 17, the Hip-Hop community lost Young Dolph, one of the most consistent Southern rappers and one of the fiercest advocates for independence in the music industry. The Memphis-bred rapper was shot and killed yesterday at the age of 36 while reportedly making a cookie run for his mother at Memphis bakery Makeda’s Cookies. Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., is survived by his two children and his partner Mia Jaye.

After the news of Young Dolph’s death spread across the internet, countless fans, celebrities, and Hip-Hop artists alike came forward to express their condolences and share their fond memories of the beloved Memphis rapper. Asian Doll was one of those people to speak on Dolph’s passing, but unfortunately, her original tweet about the late artist backfired.

“Dam dolph just asked me to go on tour with him in February & I said yes [face palm emoji x 2] Shit so sad man everybody loved dolph RIP [dolphin emoji] [blue heart emoji],” the “Nunnadet Shit” rapper wrote on Twitter. She continued to mourn Young Dolph with another tweet, saying, “Shit so sad man everybody loved dolph.”

Several fans have been critical of Asian Doll’s tour comments, claiming that she is clout chasing and trying to make the situation about her. Other fans have brought up her previous actions following the death of King Von last year. In response to the backlash, Asian Doll has deleted the original tweet, but fans also found one of her 2014 tweets that read, “Young Dolph [trash emoji].” Needless to say, that tweet hasn’t aged well, especially since she was showing the late rapper love on social media following his passing.

See some of the Twitter reactions to Asian Doll’s comments below.

Rest in peace, Young Dolph.
