Bobby Shmurda Gifts Rowdy Rebel Iced Out “Rude Boy” Chain

Following the 2014 arrest of Brooklyn rappers and longtime friends Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel, the authorities reportedly wanted to hit Rebel with a heavy charge, and let Shmurda off easier.

Speaking to Complex in 2016, Shmurda revealed the conditions behind the two, seven-year prison sentences he and Rebel ultimately received.

“They offered me five and offered Rowdy twelve… They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven, too,” Shmurda reportedly told Complex. “So, you know, I had to take one for the dogs.”

Following their release earlier this year, Rebel penned a heartfelt message to Shmurda, and thanked him for taking a longer sentence in order to shorten his own.

“I wouldn’t be here RN if yu Haven’t been the same genuine person I meet in elementary,” Rebel wrote. “I never Seen yu fold or bend through treacherous time’s always thinking Nd doing for others. I thank god I got a friend like you I could call a brother.”

Finally reuniting in February 2021, Shmurda and Rebel have re-acclimated themselves with the rap game, and nine months after their release, Bobby came through with an insane gift for his right-hand man.

Presenting Rebel with a massive, iced-out chain with a diamond-encrusted pendant spelling out “Rude Boy,” Shmurda embraced the “9 Bridge” rapper and even helped him adjust the chain to sit perfectly below his bowtie.

One IG commenter wrote that “Rowdy finna pass Bobby like cordae did nahmir,” but what do you think of the “Rude Boy” chain Bobby Shmurda gifted Rowdy Rebel? Let us know down in the comments.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Discovers Oreos and Milk

Giannis Antetokounmpo has had a tremendous year of basketball as the Milwaukee Bucks are the defending NBA champions. They have gotten off to a bit of a rough start this season, mainly due to injuries to some of their best supporting players. The championship hangover has proven to be a real thing for the Bucks, however, with Giannis on the roster, there is no doubt that this team can turn it around and become contenders again once the postseason rolls around in April.

As for Giannis’ world outside of the court, he has been living his best life. The Bucks superstar recently got to attend a Harry Styles concert, and he has also been making appearances at wrestling events that always put a smile on his face. Yesterday, however, Giannis discovered one of life’s simplest pleasures, albeit, just a tad late.

While taking to Twitter, Giannis made the revelation that a child had just put him onto the concept of dipping your Oreos in milk. Of course, this is something we all did as kids, however, Giannis is only getting around to it now. Luckily for him, he is already a big fan of it.

“You won’t believe me but a kid just told me to try dunking my Oreos in milk… mannnnn game changer,” he wrote.

As they say, better late than never.

Jay-Z Got Denied Entry Into KRS-One & Fat Joe’s “1, 2 Pass It” Session

If you don’t like Jay-Z’s music, you still can’t help but applaud the work ethic that led to his induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Brooklyn rapper has rightfully deserved the title of GOAT throughout his years but the recognition he receives these days is a testament to his consistency, longevity, and commitment to prove himself every time he steps to the plate.

Prior to the release of Reasonable Doubt, the rapper nearly had the opportunity to land on D&D All-Stars’ massive posse cut, “1, 2 Pass It” ft. KRS-One, Fat Joe, Doug E Fresh, Jeru The Damaja, and Mad Lion. According to DJ Premier, the studio was too packed to allow Hov into the session.

On the latest episode of So Wassup? Premier recalled the creation of D&D Studios’ compilation project, The D&D Project, which included the huge posse track. The studio’s owners, David Lotwin and Doug Grama, held a 40’s and Blunts Party at D&D to fuel the creativity in the sessions. Premier recalled that people were eating and drinking while beats were being made on the spot. “When you do it, whoever’s there that’s ready gets to get on the mic and cut a verse. It was even a race to who could have their rhyme ready,” he said.

Apparently, Hov was outside the studio when the song was recorded. This was back in 1995 before he had even released a debut album but he was prepared to leap into the studio and prove himself among formidable MCs. “Now, here’s the kicker: the great, great icon himself JAY-Z — shout to Hov — was outside,” Premo revealed. “He was not let in because Dave told Jay, ‘It’s way too many people in here. Like, we can’t even move.’ It was that rammed in there.”

He added, “[Jay] waited for a minute and he gave it another shot, but still couldn’t get in. And Jay left.”

Fortunately, Jay never felt a type of way about the situation and continued to work with Premo long after he was denied entry into D&D studio. Peep the story below.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Shuts Down “Negligence” Claims In $1M Lost Bag Lawsuit

Young Thug is still riding high off of the release of PUNK but the Atlanta rapper has a few legal matters to tend to. The rapper filed a lawsuit against an apartment firm that manages a The Trace complex after his bag containing a hard drive with 200 songs was handed off to another resident.

JLB Peachtree Management has fired back at Thug’s lawsuit. Per Rolling Stone, the company claims that Thug was negligent and that’s what led to the bag being lost in the first place. The suit claims the rapper’s “negligence and failure to exercise ordinary care” is the reason why the bag was lost in the first place. The lawyers for the company said that one of their staff members found the bag next to Thug’s Lamborghini but argue that they don’t hold responsibility for the stolen item.

Thug’s lawyer, Charles Hoffecke, has now responded to JLB Peachtree Management’s claims in a statement to the music publication.

“The suggestion my client’s negligence — if any — outweighs the defendants’ ignores the simple facts the defendants’ employees acted to secure the property, knew whose property it was, committed to keep the property safe in a secure location, communicated to my client they would keep the property secure, and then released the property to an unknown person,” Hoffecker said. “Now that the defendants have filed their answer, we look forward to pursuing Young Thug’s rights through the litigation process.”

In the original lawsuit, Hoffecke explained that the bag was found by a staff member who left a note on Thug’s vehicle notifying him that it was in their possession. The bag in question contained $40K in cash, along with a diamond chain worth $37K, a diamond watch worth $57K, and a hard drive with 200 songs of an estimated worth of $1M. The lawsuit continued to say that another staff member disregarded the instructions and gave “the property to an unknown individual other than plaintiff or plaintiff’s authorized representative.”

We’ll keep you posted on more updates.

Rihanna Is The Only 2000s Artist In The ‘Billboard’ Greatest Of All Time Hot 100 Artists Chart Top 10

Although it’s been a few years since since Rihanna dropped a new single, don’t forget that she’s one of the biggest artists ever in terms of chart performance. Billboard has actually confirmed that: On their new Greatest Of All-Time Hot 100 Artists chart, Rihanna finds herself in the top 10.

The list is as follows:

  1. The Beatles
  2. Madonna
  3. Elton John
  4. Elvis Presley
  5. Mariah Carey
  6. Stevie Wonder
  7. Janet Jackson
  8. Michael Jackson
  9. Whitney Houston
  10. Rihanna

Of those, Rihanna is the only artist whose first single — 2005’s “Pon De Replay” — was released in the 2000s. Billboard notes that Drake was really close to also making the top 10, as he ranks No. 11 (compared to No. 22 on the 2018 chart). Also making the top 100 list are Taylor Swift (No. 21), Maroon 5 (24), Bruno Mars (29), and Justin Bieber (38). Additionally, a handful of artists who made their Hot 100 debut in the 2010s are also appearing on the chart for the first time: The Weeknd (No. 43), Post Malone (77), Ariana Grande (78), and Ed Sheeran (87).

As for how this chart was put together, Billboard notes, “Billboard‘s Greatest Of All-Time Hot 100 Songs and Artists rankings are based on weekly performance on the Hot 100 (from its inception on Aug. 4, 1958, through Nov. 6, 2021). Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at lower spots earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted differently to account for chart turnover rates during various periods. Artists are ranked based on a formula blending performance, as outlined above, of all their Hot 100 chart entries.”

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Nicki Minaj Shows Off Skims X Fendi Collab In Stunning New IG Photos

Even when Nicki Minaj tries to stay out of the limelight, her name is always a topic of conversation.

In the last week-and-a-half, Lil Nas X revealed that Minaj (and Drake) turned him down for Montero features, fans tried to rekindle the Cardi B beef when Halle Berry called Cardi the “queen of hip hop,” and Winnie Harlow called Nicki the same thing a day later. Latto publicly praised both Nicki and Cardi in an attempt to distance herself from their “beef,” Nicki hosted a Real Housewives of Potomac reunion on Bravo, and her fans came to her defense once again after “Seeing Green,” her collaboration with Drake and Lil Wayne, wasn’t nominated for a single Grammy.

Fortunately for Minaj fans, all it took was a series of Instagram posts to let the Barbz know that their fearless leader is doing okay.

Posting three separate photos, Minaj showed off the new SKIMS x Fendi collaboration with a two-piece set, adorned with a Chloe trench coat and completed with a pair of knee-high YSL boots.

Across the three posts, Nicki left a simple message.

“Laugh now,” she captioned the first photo. “Do we have a problem,” she captioned the second, before finishing with an ominous, “I wish a btch would spin, I’m like please show up,” on the third.

Per usual, a couple of Nicki IG photos sent the Barbz into a frenzy, and messages like “FLAWLESS,” and “MY QUEEN” were littered throughout the “Anaconda” rapper’s comment section.

Bol Bol Trends As Nuggets Fans Grow Frustrated Lack Of Playing Time

Coming out of college, many fans had a fixation on the likes of Bol Bol. He is the son of former NBA star Manute Bol, and at 7’2,” fans are always eager to see what he can do on the court. He has become a bit of a sensation, and while his stats are nothing to write home about, the fans want to see him win, by any means necessary.

After being picked up by the Denver Nuggets a couple of years ago, it has become clear that head coach Mike Malone doesn’t like playing him. Whenever Bol does get minutes, he only gets a few, and they are always in garbage time. Regardless, Bol will always receive a standing ovation when he comes in the game.

Last night, the Nuggets were getting blown out by the Blazers, and at the end of the game, Bol got just one minute of playing time. This struck a nerve with fans as the Nuggets had suffered injuries to Michael Porter Jr. and PJ Dozier. They felt as though this was a good opportunity for Bol to finally get some time on the court, however, it never really came to fruition. In the end, fans were so pressed about it that Bol became a trending topic on Twitter.

As you can see in the tweets below, many fans believe the Nuggets should just trade Bol and let him shine somewhere else. Even with a depleted roster, the 22-year-old still can’t get a fair shake, which is probably an indication that Denver simply isn’t for him.

You can see what people had to say about the matter, down below.

Luka Doncic Speaks Out On His Grand Return Against The Clippers

Over the last couple of years, the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks have developed a pretty impressive rivalry, that always seems to culminate in the postseason. Luka Doncic and Kawhi Leonard are the main characters of this rivalry, although, with Kawhi injured, Paul George has stepped in to fill that role for the Clippers.

Coming into last night’s matchup between these two teams, Doncic had missed the previous three games with a sprain. Last night, Doncic made his grand return to the Mavericks lineup and he made the most of his opportunity as he dropped 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists, all while leading the Mavericks to an impressive overtime win.

Following the match, Doncic spoke on how great it was to be back with his teammates, while also picking up a win.

“I mean mentally, I was really happy to be back,” Doncic said, according to Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points. “I miss basketball. I know it’s only been three days but like I said in the morning, will do everything possible to play the game. I felt great after I woke up from my nap. I was just ready to go. […] I was tired. And overtime in the first game back, it was tough. But we got a win, that’s all that matters. I was happy.”

The Mavericks now improve to 10-7 this season, which certainly puts them within the playoffs. Of course, there is still a lot of basketball left to be played this season, however, there is no denying that with Doncic, this team is set for the next few years.

While Chief Keef hasn’t put out anything as iconic as “Don’t Like” or “Faneto” in quite some time, the Chicago rapper has been releasing music at a high volume for the better part of a decade, and is one of the most important pioneers of the 2010s.

Colby Covington Goes Scorched Earth On Jon Jones, Calls Him “Dirtbag”

Colby Covington has always been an outspoken presence within the UFC and when he sees something that he doesn’t like, you can be sure that he is going to call it out. The other day, we reported on how he felt like Kamaru Usman cheated during UFC 268, and that he actually won the fight based on the final three rounds. Many fans disagreed, however, he continued to talk a big game, claiming that a trilogy fight with Usman would only be fair at this point.

In a separate interview with MMA News, Covington set his sights on Jon Jones who was recently arrested for domestic violence. Covington went on a rant against the UFC superstar, calling him a “dirtbag” and a “piece of shit.” Covington also went on to say that if he was in charge of the UFC, he would never let Jones fight again.

Per Covington:

“Oh, my gosh, man. I’m not surprised. I mean, definitely not surprised. That guy’s gonna continue to do felon-type stuff, criminal-type activities. That guy’s a piece of shit, man. He’s a dirtbag. I mean, beating your wife? And she’s so manipulated and so messed up emotionally in the head from what he’s done to her over the years, you can tell she just has trauma so she doesn’t want to rat him out. He used to bring home big money for her. So of course, she wants to keep the gravy train going. She doesn’t want anything to ruin their relationship. So I get where she’s coming from and why it’s happening, but man, that’s sad, James.”

Following the arrest, Jones’ status in the UFC has been questioned, especially with Dana White being so vocal on the matter. While Covington might not get his way on this particular issue, there is no doubt that many fans feel the exact same way, as Jones’ brushes with the law have become a stain on his legacy.
