Enes Kanter Has A Brand New Target

Enes Kanter has been on a crusade against the Chinese government as he is disgusted by their human rights violations. He has been wearing sneakers that speak to just how bad the Chinese regime is, and he has a particular distaste for Xi Jinping, who is the leader of the nation. Kanter has mostly been attacking the likes of LeBron James, and his rants against the superstar have gotten quite a bit of attention as of late.

Now, however, Kanter is looking to attack someone else. In a recent tweet, Kanter set his signs on Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai, who helped co-found Alibaba Group Holding. Tsai has made disparaging remarks about Hong-Kong protesters in the past, and as a result, Kanter felt it was necessary to take him to task.

“The owner of @brooklynNets @joetsai1999 is a coward & puppet of the Chinese gov’t,” Kanter wrote. “Being anti-CCP does NOT mean being anti-Asian It’s possible to #StopAsianHate & to stand up against the CCP Human rights are not “western” values, they are UNIVERSAL values! Spineless Joe Tsai.”

Needless to say, Kanter is not intimidated by the status of the people he goes up against. By calling out an NBA owner, Kanter is going much further than he would be by stopping at just LeBron James. Having said that, it could take a long time before his actions truly have an impact on what’s going on overseas.

Grammys CEO Responds To Backlash Over Marilyn Manson’s Nominations

The Grammys officially unveiled the nominations for the 2022 award show but, as it is every year, criticism arose surrounding the rap categories. This time, though, it isn’t necessarily about the songs and projects that have been nominated, though the Barbz aren’t pleased about the exclusion of “Seeing Green.”

Marilyn Manson, who faces numerous lawsuits over sexual assault allegations, and Louis C.K., who admitted to sexual misconduct, were nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards. Manson received two nods for his contributions to Kanye West’s Donda in the categories of Best Album and Best Rap Song for “Jail” ft. Jay-Z. C.K. is nominated for Best Comedy Album.

The CEO of The Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., responded to the backlash in an interview with The Wrap where he stated that personal history isn’t considered when voting for the nominations.

“We won’t restrict the people who can submit their material for consideration,” Mason Jr. said. “We won’t look back at people’s history, we won’t look at their criminal record, we won’t look at anything other than the legality within our rules of, is this recording for this work eligible based on date and other criteria.”

Nominations aside, Mason Jr. said that the Recording Academy will be cautious surrounding those they decide to invite to the actual ceremony.

“What we will control is our stages, our shows, our events, our red carpets,” he said. “We’ll take a look at anyone who is asking to be a part of that, asking to be in attendance, and we’ll make our decisions at that point. But we’re not going to be in the business of restricting people from submitting their work for our voters to decide on.”

Playboi Carti Says He Has “More Music Coming Out Soon”

Playboi Carti’s Narcissist era has been interesting, to say the least.

Back in September, Carti announced he’d be going on tour across the United States for the last three months of the year, and said his new album Narcissist was going to drop on his 25th birthday, September 13.

Jason Kempin/Getty Images

That didn’t happen.

Despite Carti’s threats to release the album, he embarked on the Narcissist tour without dropping any new music, and between fans kicking down security gates in Houston and the repeated disrespect shown to Rico Nasty (who is opening for Carti), it’s clear the “Rockstar Made” rapper has his hands full.

However, at a recent Narcissist tour stop, Carti told fans that new music is on the way.

In a video posted by DJ Akademiks, one concertgoer captures the moment, and Carti is clearly heard saying, “I got some more music coming out soon.”

While this update seems promising and is coming from the man himself, what “soon” means to Playboi Carti is an entirely different discussion. “Soon” could mean a surprise drop tomorrow. “Soon” could mean six months of crytpic tweets. After teasing Whole Lotta Red for years before actually releasing it, the latter feels more trustworthy, but who knows.

Carti operates to the beat of his own drum and there is nobody in music or fashion that can knock him off his path. Whenever the new music he promised concertgoers does arrive, his fanbase will devour it and his detractors will say they don’t understand it. Such is the life of Playboi Carti.

What do you think of Carti telling his fans new music is coming soon? Do you believe him? Let us know down in the comments.

Meek Mill Condemns “The System” Following Kyle Rittenhouse’s Meeting With Donald Trump

In the days since a Kenosha, Wisconsin jury found Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty of any charges leveled against him after he admittedly shot and killed two people during a protest in August, 2020, the now 18-year-old has been one of the hottest subjects of media discussion.

According to Trump, Rittenhouse and his family visited him at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida, and is “really a nice young man.”

In a recent Instagram post, Meek Mill used Rittenhouse’s meeting with Trump, as well as another case in which another white man avoided jail time after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting four teenagers, as examples of the United States’ broken system.

“IT IS CLEAR TO SEE THAT THE SYSTEM IS TOTALLY DESIGNED TO DESTROY BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE! TV PROGRAMMING CANT HIDE IT ANYMORE…I DONT BELIEVE IN NOTHING I WAS TAUGHT IN HISTORY FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL ANYMORE NOW IM EDUCATED! THE SYSTEM IS THE SECOND STAGE OF SLAVERY AND THE GOVERNMENT FULLY UNDERSTAND THE DAMAGE IS DOES TO OUR PEOPLE NOT HAVING MONEY AND INCARCERATING MOST OF US!,” Meek wrote. “I Was so caught in tryna overcome poverty/thestreets I never noticed how deep the system really is! JJ Watt Comes Through With Generous Offer For Waukesha Victims

A horrific tragedy took place in Waukesha, Wisconsin recently as a man drove his car into the Christmas Parade, causing dozens of injuries while also killing six people. There are many people fighting for their lives right now as a direct result of these actions and it is clear that the perpetrator is facing many years in prison for what he did. The town is still reeling from what happened, and the families are experiencing a lot of grief as innocent lives have been lost.

The funerals for the six victims are going to be happening soon, and as many know, this can be a huge financial burden on many families. As it turns out, however, they are about to get some help from the likes of NFL superstar JJ Watt.

According to the report below, Watt is offering to pay for the funerals of every single victim. He has been known for being quite charitable in the past, as he raised a ton of money for hurricane relief efforts just a few years ago. He also paid for the funerals of the victims of a school shooting, which just goes to show that Watt is always looking to deliver a helping hand to those who need one. The NFL star has ties to Wisconsin, which is ultimately what made this story hit so close for him.

What Watt is doing here is going to go a very long way, and you can’t help but commend him for this incredibly generous act. Hopefully, it brings some peace to the families of those who died.

Everson Griffen Calls 911, Posts Himself Waving Gun On Social Media

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen recently uploaded a series of concerning posts onto social media, and local authorities claim Griffen called 911 around 3 A.M this morning, claiming that “someone was inside his home and that he needed help from the police,” according to TMZ.

In one of the shocking posts sent out by Griffen last night, the NFL pass rusher can be seen wide-eyed, and speaking frantically while waving a gun. In the video, Griffen speaks as though he is fearing for his life, while also name dropping his Vikings’ teammate and 2x Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook.

“Yo, yo, yo,” Griffen said in the video while laying on the floor with his firearm in hand. “I’m in my house. N***** tryna pop me. I still got clips left. This is my gun.”

Griffen continues, in a panicked-state, to explain that the gun is his and is registered, also adding that, “Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun. It all belongs to me and they are registered to me.”

In another scary post, Griffen shared concerning screenshots of his alleged text messages, repeatedly asking for help and saying, “People are trying to kill me,” with time stamps around 3:12 A.M.

Following the events, The Minnesota Vikings and head coach Mike Zimmer have expressed concern for the health and safety of 33-year-old Everson Griffen.

“We’re only concerned about his well-being,” Zimmer said, telling reporters that whether Griffen will play or not this weekend is not important, as the team is only focused on Griffen and his health.

The Minnesota Vikings also released a statement, saying:

“Vikings representatives and the team’s mental health professionals have been on-site at Everson Griffen’s home since early this morning and are cooperating with law enforcement. Our only concern at this time is the safety and well-being of Everson and his family. We will have further comment at the appropriate time.”

The Weeknd Credits ‘Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’ For His ’80s Music Influence

Billboard recently declared that The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” is the top song in the long history of their storied Hot 100 chart. The song is heavily inspired by synth-forward ’80s music, and in a new Billboard interview pegged to the Hot 100 news, The Weeknd gave credit to the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for fostering in him an interest in ’80s music.

In the piece, co-producer Max Martin notes of the song, “Abel came with the vision of what the song should be, which was a very different tempo and vibe than what is usually done. He took a risk, and that was very impressive to us. We all felt this song was very special even early on in the process.” The Weeknd then added, “GTA: Vice City really opened my eyes to a lot of ’80s music, so there was a nostalgia for when I was a kid playing video games and listening to Hall & Oates and Michael Jackson while driving through the city.”

The Grand Theft Auto games are well known for their soundtracks, which players experience through in-game radio stations. Vice City has nine stations and they all cycle through their own playlists of about 15 songs each (except for the one station that doesn’t play music). Since the game is set in 1986, all of the songs included are from that year or earlier. Hall & Oates has one song in the game, “Out Of Touch,” while Jackson has two: “Billie Jean” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’.”

MoneyBagg Yo Drops 90s-Inspired Visuals For “Scorpio”

Before Drake’s Certified Lover Boy dominated September and into October, MoneyBagg Yo’s A Gangsta’s Pain was the best-selling rap album of the year.

Highlighted by “Wockesha,” A Gangsta’s Pain was pivotal in cementing MoneyBagg as one of the premier rappers of the current generation, and to celebrate its success, the “One Of Dem Nights” rapper decided to add a couple of new tracks to the already-22-song album for A Gangsta’s Pain: Reloaded. Today, one of those new tracks, “Scorpio,” received the official music video treatment, and saw Bagg travel back in time.

Rocking a huge mink coat and driving a vintage Mercedes Benz, the Memphis rapper is transported back to the 90s with the assistance of DMX’s “How’s It Goin’ Down.” “Scorpio” is a love song, and its music video matches the vibe perfectly. Between MoneyBagg spitting game on the street and a series of rooftop skyline shots reminiscent of something Puff would have done during the Bad Boy era, everything about the “Scorpio” visuals molds perfectly to the message Bagg is trying to get across.

Saweetie Seems To Have A “Icy Heart,” PETA Says

Saweetie is gearing up for the release of Pretty Bitch Music which is expected to drop in 2022. The Bay Area rapper just graced the SNL stage on Saturday, a day after dropping her new single, “Icy Chain.” Saweetie’s poppin’ her sh*t on the record and flexing her wealth and status on her doubters and naysayers. On the single, she takes a slight jab at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA. “Mink on my body like I just went hunting / Tell PETA I’m being 100,” she raps on the record.

In response, PETA’s planning on sending the Grammy-nominated rapper a jacket made out of faux-fur. PETA senior vice president Lisa Lange explained that the move is in hope of Saweetie making a switch in her wardrobe to completely remove fur and animal skin.

“We’ll be 100, too: It’s a shame that the icy girl seems to have an icy heart,” said Lange in a statement, per ET. “PETA hopes that once Saweetie sees how luxurious faux-fur coats are, she’ll ditch the ones made from animals who valued their lives and were tormented and killed for a look that says, ‘I don’t care how others suffer.'”

The organization doubled down on their statement in a TikTok, including the faux-fur jacket, that they shared on their social media pages. Check it out below.
