Amari Cooper Claims Playing With COVID Is Like MJ’s “Flu Game”

Just a couple of weeks ago, Amari Cooper tested positive for COVID-19, and due to his vaccination status, he had to wait a bit longer before coming back. As a result, Cooper had to miss his team’s matchup on Thanksgiving, however, he was back in the lineup last night as the Cowboys took on the New Orleans Saints.

The Cowboys went on to win the game, all while Cooper picked up 41 yards on just two catches. After the game, Cooper spoke about his battle with COVID and how he felt like he could have played. According to Pro Football Talk, Cooper even tried to compare that situation to Michael Jordan battling the flu during an NBA Finals win.

“It was tough,” Cooper explained. “[Michael] Jordan played with the flu. That’s how I looked at it. It was a restriction of not being able to play with what I had. It was tough, knowing that I could physically gone out there and played, but the restrictions didn’t allow me to do so.”

While some fans might roll their eyes at the comparison, there are certainly others out there who believe it is a very poignant one. Either way, Cooper is back, which is certainly going to make Cowboys fans happy.

Zach LaVine Had This Message For Stephen A. Smith

Zach LaVine has been lights out for the Chicago Bulls over these past couple of seasons, and there is no doubt that he will continue to be a star on the team for years to come. He has led the Bulls to a phenomenal start to the season, especially with Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan by his side. The Bulls are looking like real contenders in a stacked Eastern Conference, and while it’s going to be a tough road ahead, the Bulls are ready to finally get back into the postseason.

As for last night, LaVine and the Bulls took on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Bulls came away with a 119-115 win, and before the game, LaVine was feeling extra confident. In fact, he even had some words for Stephen A. Smith, who was in attendance.

As Daniel Greenberg wrote on Twitter, Smith went on First Take this morning and claimed that LaVine told him “I know you want us to lose tonight but it ain’t happening.” Sure enough, LaVine’s trash talk worked as the Bulls came through with yet another victory that cements their place among the elite teams out East.

With his new teammates, it’s easy to see why LaVine would be so brazen now. He has a reason to stay in Chicago, and given the team’s historic past, this can only be a good thing for the city and its fans .

Styles P & Havoc Share Their Highly Anticipated Album, “Wreckage Manner”

On November 20th, Styles P and Havoc shared “Nightmares 2 Dreams,” which was received incredibly well by audiences. Now, they’ve dropped off their highly anticipated joint project, Wreckage Manner, which sees the two industry legends link up on 10 tracks like only they can.

Thus far, titles like “21 Gun Salute” and “Move How We Wanna” appear to be fan favourites, although that could easily change as fans have more time to soak in the new hip-hop duo’s lyrics and production.

“Making this piece of work reminded me of working with P (the late, great Prodigy of Mobb Deep),” Havoc said following the album’s only single’s release. “Styles is an artist that I was a fan of over the years, so making this project was truly a pleasure.”

Styles P has also been promoting Wreckage Manner online. “@mobbdeephavoc and myself worked on album together !! ITS OUT RIGHT NOW .. Pure dose of golden era mixed with the future !! Go get it and enjoy” he wrote to his followers earlier this morning.

Freddie Gibbs & Hundreds Of Rap Fans Roast NBA YoungBoy & Birdman Photo

There are a couple of different cover artworks floating around on social media to promote the upcoming collaborative project from Birdman and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and one of them has elicited confusion from hundreds of rap fans, including Freddie Gibbs.

Last week, we crowned Freddie Gibbs as one of the biggest trolls in hip-hop and he proved why yet again on Friday, roasting Birdman and YoungBoy over a fan-made cover artwork for their project From Tha Bayou. The first single from the album, “Alligator Walk,” was released today, and folks on social media have been having fun reacting to a photo of Birdman and YoungBoy intercepted as one person, which appears to be a promotional photo used for the project.

“N***a asked me if this was me,” joked Gibbs on Twitter, sharing the picture of half of Birdman’s face (with sunglasses) and YoungBoy’s visage (without glasses). It’s worth noting that this is not the cover artwork that will be used for the album — you can find that in the Instagram post above.

As people continue sharing their thoughts on the cover, check out a round-up of tweets below and let us know if you’re rocking with it.

2022’s This Ain’t No Picnic Festival Will Be Led By LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes, And Le Tigre

Goldenvoice has a proven track record of putting on killer festivals, as they’re behind events like Coachella, Day N Vegas, and Stagecoach. Now, they’re adding a new fest to that list: This Ain’t No Picnic is going down on August 27 and 28, 2022 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The two-day, six-stage lineup has a rock and alternative lean to it, as the 2022 headliners are The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, and Le Tigre performing what is currently set to be their first and only reunion show of the year. Also on the bill are Beach House, Caroline Polachek, Courtney Barnett, Dawn Richard, Deafheaven, Earl Sweatshirt, Four Tet + Floating Points, Genesis Owusu, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Idles, Indigo De Souza, Isaiah Rashad, Jorja Smith, Kaytranada, Kelly Lee Owens, Mac DeMarco, Magdalena Bay, Mdou Moctar, Michelle, Phoebe Bridgers, Romy, Slowthai, Tinashe, Turnstile, Wet Leg, Ying Yang Twins, and Yves Tumor, among others.

If the festival’s name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s a throwback to the original Goldenvoice festival of the same name. The initial This Ain’t No Picnic debuted in 1999, continued in 2000, and after having to skip 2001, came back for the last time in 2002. A fair amount of artists on those lineups actually wouldn’t feel out of place on this year’s bill, by the way: Sleater-Kinney, Beck, Yo La Tengo, Modest Mouse, and El-P were involved.

Rick Ross And The-Dream Celebrate Their Successes On The Lavish ‘Little Havana’

Of all the most bulletproof rap personas, Rick Ross‘ commitment to drug dealer kayfabe is probably the most impressive. We all know that his tales of being a lavish cocaine kingpin are likely mostly fabricated but we continue to tap in and enjoy them nonetheless. In turn, he keeps cranking them out and occasionally upping the ante, as he does on his new single “Little Havana.” The track opens with a monologue from Augusto Guillermo “Willy” Falcon, a former drug kingpin credited with operating one of South Florida’s biggest drug organizations through the ’70s, ’80s, and early ’90s. He’s credited here as “Willie Falcon.”

Willy expresses pride in his accomplishments, boasting, “I helped build Miami skyline into what it is today. Twenty billion dollars got me twenty-seven years in federal prison. I always live by the code of honor. That’s why my best days are ahead of me.” Meanwhile, Ross manages to remain humble even as he continues to brag about his own feats. “Problem was I never was a prodigy,” he raps in his verse. “Possibly, my biggest flaw is lack of modesty.”

Ross has plenty to boast about these days, though. His new album titled Richer Than I Ever Been drops next week, he and the founder of Rap Snacks have launched their own cannabis company, Drake’s called him the “greatest rapper alive,” and he’s even just got his driver’s license after being eligible for the past 29 years. Things are looking up for Rick Ross; indeed, it seems that like his good buddy Falcon, his best days are ahead of him.

Richer Than I Ever Been is due 12/10 via Maybach and Epic.
