Coi Leray Announces Her Album Is Finished

Coi Leray’s 2021 blow-up was sensational. It seemed like each single she released became a hit, whether it be “No More Parties” with Lil Durk, “BIG PURR” with Pooh Shiesty or “TWINNEM” with DaBaby.

Most of these tracks achieved the amount of notoriety they did because of how prominent they were on TikTok. In fact, for TikTok’s Top 10 U.S. Songs list for 2021 released last week, Coi’s “TWINNEM” landed at No. 5. However, Coi likes to see herself as an artist beyond the scope of TikTok.

When claims of her being solely a “TikTok artists” reached their peak around the start of November, she took to Twitter to quell those takes: “Call me a tik tok artist, but just so you know. When an artist drops music, it gets uploaded to TikTok as well. Whether they chose to promote and have fun with the record, that’s on them… but I got a family to feed, ima get mines regardless.”

Now, attempting to rise beyond the TikTok artist label, Coi Leray is set to drop her debut album. She has been working on it for most of the second half of 2021, but experienced delays because her record label felt she was not yet ready for the moment. When a fan asked her for an update on the album in October, she let them know why it wasn’t out yet: “Na I’m sorry. Feel like I’m ready for an album but my label doesn’t think so. So I’m just going with the flow. I hate the flow.”

After she has met Justin Bieber in the studio and posted snippets of unreleased music, it now appears the album is on the way soon. Coi posted a picture of her tracklist for the project with all the song titles blurred out, saying she’s ready to drop: “My album done . Enjoy y’all holidays… “

There is currently no cover art or release date for Leray’s album, but hopefully she can get it to her fans as soon as possible.

Maxo Kream Recalls Passing Out CDs To Tyler, The Creator

Maxo Kream says he once handed out his CDs to Tyler, The Creator back in 2014 before his career took off. Maxo reflected on his journey to now collaborating with Tyler on his song, “Big Persona,” during a recent interview with HNHH for the Twelve Days of Christmas series.

Maxo says he original crafted 8 verses for the track after Tyler kept springing new ideas on him.

When asked if he has the confidence to think, “I’m about to kill this right now?” before every verse he explained: “Facts, exactly. But man, I go into every track thinking that though. With sh*t with Tyler, I know I’m gonna kill it, but it’s a certain way I gotta kill it. It’s a certain way to do sh*t. N** get the biggest feature of their life with Drake and make a bullsh*t ass song but don’t do nothing. You got to utilize these features bro. This is a business. You don’t go, ‘Okay, let’s just hop on a song, go back-and-forth,’ you gotta have a vision for it. I’m real critical. That’s why it was so many verses.”

From there, Maxo recalled bringing Tyler a CD at the GOLF store in LA in 2014.

“Hell yeah, I was passing out CDs and sh*t trying to come up, trying to rap,” he said. “Sh*t, I don’t even know if n** was still listening to CDs in 2014, but I had ‘em. And I gave it to him. He said, so sarcastic [does his best Tyler impression]: ‘Well, thank you.’”

He continued: “Let me give you the story. I walked up to him, I gave him the CD like, ‘F*ck with me.’ Then when I meet him again at Yams Day, n** said he was in London with motherf*cking Rick Rubin, jamming my sh*t. And Rick Rubin put him on. I’m like, ‘Daaamn, that’s crazy bro.'”

Flavor Flav Narrowly Avoided Being Crushed By A Boulder While Driving To Las Vegas

TMZ reports that hip-hop pioneer Flavor Flav of Public Enemy was nearly crushed by a falling boulder while driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, totaling his car and coming “very close to death.” The iconic hype man was driving through La Tuna Canyon when the boulder, loosened by recent local rain, fell down the side of the cliff, smashing into the car’s right side and making Flav lose control of the car.

A passerby who saw the collision stopped to make sure he was okay and Flav was able to contact AAA, telling reps that he was physically okay but mentally “shaken up.” He said, “God is good,” and that he’s “super grateful to be alive.” The car was totaled, though, with the passenger side all banged up and missing a headlight.

When last we heard from Flav, he was getting “fired” from Public Enemy for failing to perform as an April Fool’s joke ahead of the group dropping a new album and returning to Def Jam, the label that defined their early career. The group played their new song “Grid” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert from the album, What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down.

MAY-A’s Holiday Playlist Brings Back Fond Memories

Winter in the United States is summer in Australia, so May-A typically spends Christmas holidays by the beach, “attempting surfing or passed out in the sand somewhere,” they tell us via email. In fact, one of MAY-A’s favorite holiday memories comes from a camping trip when they spent the whole day kayaking. “The kayak was made out of fiberglass and it had split somewhere along the side but I hadn’t realised, the fiberglass particles all got stuck in my skin and I couldn’t move for the entire day,” they remember. “My cousin lost his phone in the river and we ended up having to sleep in a trailer because there weren’t any beds, so many things were chaotic but it was the closest I’d felt to my family and the last time I saw some of them.”

Despite the differing scenery of the season in Australia, holiday music still plays a big role in the appreciation for the time of year — when you want it to. “Holiday music can be the most overly positive overly cheery shit sometimes,” MAY-A explains. “When you’re in the mood for it, it’s uplifting and fun, when you’re not, it makes you feel like the grinch. I’m on both sides of the spectrum for sure. Despite the varying appreciation for holiday music, May-A still sat down to take part in the latest installment of the Uproxx holiday playlist.

Check out the full playlist, along with MAY-A’s explanations for each of their picks, down below.

Michael Bublé – “Holly Jolly Christmas”

This song is the epitome of a love/hate relationship. For instance, I hate this song most of the time. But sometimes, in the right setting and the right mood, surrounded by family it’s a nice warm feeling. If this song comes on the radio when I’m by myself I’ll probably try to pull it out of the car.

Wham! – “Last Christmas”

I remember last year around Christmas this song came on the radio about every 20 minutes, and it was great. I listen to this song outside of the holidays as well.

Justin Bieber – “Mistletoe”

Was in love with Justin Bieber as a kid so when this song came out i was stoked. I remember watching the music video wishing it was about me.

Bobby Helms – “Jingle Bell Rock”

A nice feel-good christmas song

Michael Bublé – “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas”

This song makes me feel calm and I feel like I’m in a Mary Poppins movie or something. I feel classy.

Mariah Carey – “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

An absolute banger. I live and die for Mariah and this song. enough said.

Joel Feliciano – “Feliz Navidad”

This is the definition of a Christmas party song. Put this one on at a Christmas party and you’ll get everyone up and dancing.

The Jackson 5 – “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”

Just a funky Christmas song, the Jackson 5 always bring a good vibe.

Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner Attend Low-Key Baby Shower Hosted By Khloe Kardashian

Kylie Jenner has been more public about her pregnancy the second time around, although TMZ reports that the 24-year-old’s baby shower – hosted by her older sister, Khloe Kardashian – was a relatively low-key, relaxing event.

Sources with direct knowledge informed the outlet that the event took place at Khloe’s new home, next door to Kris Jenner’s. “It was most low-key, attended by Kylie’s family, including her nieces and nephews and a few close friends.”

Attendees were reportedly treated to a massage at a relaxing station, and fed plenty of tasty treats; tents and tables were also set up to ensure privacy. Jenner’s exact due date remains unknown, but we do know that she was already several months along when the news broke back in August.

Travis Scott was also at the shower, celebrating his forthcoming bundle of joy. Like the unborn child’s expected birthday, their gender remains unknown (to fans, at least), so only time will tell if Stormi will be spending time with a new baby sister or brother.

Just last week, a story from W Magazine reported that the soon-to-be parents weren’t actually a couple. Khloe vehemently denied these rumours, taking to the comment section of a TikTok video to defend her little sister’s relationship. “Wow I don’t know why this magazine would write this but they are very much a couple,” the mother of one wrote under a clip from Scott and Jenner’s canceled cover shoot with the magazine.

In case you missed it, following the crowd surge that took place at Astroworld, W decided to pull the couple’s front-page story and scrub their names from any online coverage – read more about that here.

Do you think Kylie Jenner will give birth to a boy or a girl? Speculate below.

Odell Beckham Jr. Tests Positive For COVID-19

In the NBA and NHL right now, there are some pretty bad COVID-19 outbreaks going on. For instance, the Chicago Bulls have 10 players with the virus, all while the NHL has had to suspend numerous games due to outbreaks amongst its teams. Now, the NFL is going through it as well. Today, 37 players tested positive for COVID-19, and it is believed that 25 more are about to register positive tests, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Tom Holland Says He Farted On Zendaya While Filming “Spider-Man: No Way Home”

Tom Holland says he farted on Zendaya while filming Spider-Man: No Way Home during an interview on SiriusXM, Friday.

“I farted. Yeah, I farted on [Zendaya], unfortunately,” he said. “It’s tough, the suit’s tight. The harness squeezes it out.”

It turns out the fart wasn’t subtle either. Zendaya says “It was very obvious.” and that she even “felt the rattle.”

As for how Holland handled it, he says he confessed right away: “No, I ‘fessed up. I immediately was like, ‘Ugh, sorry about that. That’s my bad.’”

The awkward moment came during a stunt that involved Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon swinging through the air with Spider-Man.

Earlier this month, Holland and Zendaya appeared on The Graham Norton Show and joked about how their height difference affected filming on the newest Spider-Man film.

“There’s a particular stunt where Spider-Man swings us on top of a bridge and he places me there,” Zendaya explained. “Because of our height difference … we were attached, so I would land before him.”

“I’m the superhero. I’m supposed to look cool,” Holland joked.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on Friday, December 17.
