Fetty Wap Was Arrested In Newark Airport Due To An Outstanding Warrant

It’s been a tough year when it comes to legal trouble for rap’s best trap crooner, Fetty Wap. The New Jersey rapper was arrested at Rolling Loud this year on federal drug charges before he had a chance to take the stage. According to TMZ’s report of the allegations, federal authorities suspect Fetty of distributing cocaine, crack, heroin, and fentanyl across Long Island and New Jersey. Still, the rapper, born William Junior Maxwell II, was released on $500K bond shortly after his arrest.

Conditions of his bail included an ankle monitor, surrendering his passport, and letting officials know of any planned travel, but something went awry at the Newark Airport today and Fetty was arrested again. This seems to have nothing to do with his federal drug case, though, and is related to an outstanding New Jersey warrant involving a charge of public nuisance in North Bergen, New Jersey. According to TMZ’s sources, Fetty was booked but will be able to make bail for this minor infraction and be released. Hopefully he will be able to continue his holiday travel and see his loved ones, and not be stuck in jail due to an old warrant during the latest surge of cases in a deadly pandemic.

Fetty Wap is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music.

Roddy Ricch Calls Nipsey Hussle The “L.A. Jay-Z”

It has been twenty-four hours since Roddy Ricch shared his sophomore studio album Live Life Fast, and fans overall have enjoyed the project. The album hosts features from several chart-topping artists like Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Jamie Foxx, and to help promote the record, Roddy caught up with Zane Lowe. Unlike many of his peers, Roddy has opted to lay low when it comes to the limelight, so you won’t find him constantly uploading images to social media in an effort to show off the fruits of his labor. Instead, he emerges musically before retreating back into his solitude.

Roddy’s collaborations have earned him a tremendous amount of success, whether it be alongside DaBaby or Nipsey Hussle. His “Racks in the Middle” collaboration with Nipsey has been hailed in the industry and the pair even picked up a Grammy win, albeit posthumously for the late Hussle.

“Nip was like [an] L.A. Jay-Z. It wasn’t just a conversation thing, it was like, an actual thing,” said the rapper. “He owned his masters… Like you could catch him at your local gas station on the real, hopping out, Maybach, taking pictures with people mamas, people aunties, little n*ggas.”

“That was him. Like, when you get all the hoods to just slide up on your store and you got the different religious groups pulling up. That ain’t normal for nobody,” he added. “That’s bigger than life—and that’s the thing. I just feel like people ain’t really feel it until it was gone.” Watch Roddy Ricch chop it up with Zane Lowe below.

Charlamagne Tha God & Kamala Harris Have Tense Exchange Over Joe Biden Remark

Now that he has his own platform, Charlamagne Tha God is expanding his media empire. The Breakfast Club icon has been afforded the opportunity to sit down with entertainers, politicians, and notable public figures throughout his career, and while on his new venture Tha God’s Honest Truth, Charlamange chatted with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Their conversation seemed pretty straightforward until Charlamagne, in his true fashion, pressed the VP about Democrat Joe Manchin. The host expressed that he believed Senator Manchin is “holding up progress” and didn’t mince words when vocalizing his frustration.

“You get villainized for silly things like air buds, when [Manchin is] really stopping progress,” he said. Harris played it safe and didn’t speak on Manchin, but she added, “Every vote matters, especially in the Senate, and we have to listen to the voices … and then we negotiate… Sometimes it is frustrating.”

In his final question, which set things off, he added,  “So who is the president? Is it Joe Manchin or Joe Biden?” That’s when things took a turn.

“Come on, Charlamagne. It’s Joe Biden. No, no, no, no. It’s Joe Biden. And don’t start talking like a Republican, asking whether or not he’s president. It’s Joe Biden,” said Harris. “And I’m vice president and my name is Kamala Harris. And the reality is because we are in office, we do things like the child tax credit, which is going to reduce Black child poverty by 50 percent.”

“It is the work of saying we’re going to get lead out of pipes and paint because our babies are suffering because of that. It is the work of saying people who ride public transit deserve the same kind of dignity that anybody else does. So, let’s improve that system.” She added, “I hear the frustration, but let’s not deny the impact that we’ve had and agree also that there is a whole lot more work to be done and it is not easy to do. But we will not give up and I will not give up.”

Charlamagne approved of the VP’s response. Check out the clip below.

Party For Taylor Swift’s Album Deemed A Super Spreader Event, 100 COVID Cases Reported

The singer may have not been in attendance, but a gathering in honor of Taylor Swift has authorities in Australia scrambling. The Pop icon has a dedicated, global fanbase that often hosts events to celebrate her milestones. The singer has been slowly re-releasing her catalog amid her ongoing battle over owning her masters, and with each new project comes worldwide events that pay tribute to Swift.

In Sydney, Australia, over 600 fans came together to party the night away at the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Party” at the city’s Metro Theatre on December 10, and according to the New South Wales Ministry of Health, 97 people tested positive following the event.

The Ministry of Health urged attendees to quarantine immediately following the super spreader event. Many guests checked in using a QR code, however, authorities are still trying to track down everyone, including those who attended and did not enter using the code.

Anyone who attended the “On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party” at Metro Theatre (624 George Street, Sydney) from 9pm onwards on Friday 10 December is a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 7 days.

NSW Health is asking all household contacts of close contacts to get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received by everyone in the household.

Some of those 97 confirmed COVID cases are reportedly the latest Omicron variant, however, health officials did not share a specific number. Authorities fear that dozens of households are affected, increasing the risks that this wave could spread rapidly throughout Australia and to other countries if left unchecked.

Swift nor her team have commented on the event.

Doja Cat Addresses Nas’s “Ultra Black” Mention: “It Didn’t Hurt Me”

It was over a year ago that Doja Cat became a trending topic after a few bars from Nas began to circulate. The Rap icon dropped his “Ultra Black” single from his acclaimed King’s Disease project with Hit-Boy and on it, he rapped, “We goin’ ultra-Black, unapologetically Black / The opposite of Doja Cat, Michael Blackson Black.” Soon, people began touting this as a diss about the biracial Popstar, but Nas insisted he doesn’t have any beef with Doja and he was just dropping witty bars.

Doja would come forward saying that she planned on releasing a track called “Nas,” but alas, the teased track reportedly arrived as “Ain’t Sh*t.” In her recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Planet Her artist once again addresses the controversy.

It didn’t hurt me. It was just like, ‘Oh, this sucks. This is no good,'” Doja said, but it seemed as if she was stung by the mention. Nas’s jab came during a tie when Doja was receiving heavy criticism for certain resurfaced social media moments that many deemed to be racist.

“It’s just like, ‘This is a human being, a real human being with feelings,’ ” she added. “[I] don’t think it had anything to do with me, to be honest. I think whatever [Nas] was talking about was something that other people kind of planted into his mind. [But] if you’re able to reach that conclusion about me so confidently, there’s no point in ever talking about it. . . . I’m also very non-confrontational, and I don’t like the vibe of trying to prove myself to somebody that I don’t need to. I don’t think I really need to respond to that without humor.”

The little boy spoke about playing with his dad and looking for to spending time with Dolph. He added that now that his father has died, he’s going to make sure he’s the “greatest person you’ll ever know.”

Meanwhile, earlier today, TMZ reported that authorities do not have any “solid suspects” just yet, but they are hoping that their informants will help bring in information that can lead to an arrest.

Memphis PD Sgt. Louis Brownlee tells TMZ … cops have received quite a few tips on Young Dolph’s murder, and while investigators have followed up on that info, there hasn’t been anything to lead to an arrest.

Additionally, WREG News in Memphis also reported that outside of Young Dolph’s memorial yesterday, officers located a stolen Infiniti Q40 in the parking garage of the FedExForum. As police were arresting that driver, another car, a Mercedes, tried speeding out of the garage and instead, hit a pole. “Key had nine outstanding warrants and Flynn had a warrant for theft of property $1,000 or less. Officers also recovered a gun and marijuana,” reported WREG

The couple has known one another since they were just teenagers in New York, but by 2010, they were engaged and expecting their first child together. Swizz and Keys never skip a beat in fawning over one another publicly, whether it be with physical or verbal affections, so when a media personality attempted to stir the pot with unsubstantiated allegations that the megaproducer was stepping out on his wife, Swizz was quick to shut it down.

La La Anthony has found her name in headlines as people discuss her split from Carmelo Anthony, but Miss Jones hopped online with accusations that La La was having an affair with Swizz.
