SSGKobe Caps Off 2021 With “ESCAPE” Two-Pack

2021 was a career elevating year for teenage hip-hop sensation SSGKobe. The Louisiana artist has put out stellar hits like “MIA” and “thrax,” which have been boosted in popularity by TikTok fame. Along with this, he has collaborated with fellow young stars like Lil Yachty on “F*K EM” and $NOT on “Calabasas.”

Kobe’s appeal comes from his high-pitched ad-libs and singing, along with his explosive trap beats. He takes influence from SoundCloud predecessors like XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD, inserting melancholic themes into his continuously expanding sound.

Channeling that SoundCloud energy, SSGKobe decided to end his fruitful year of 2021 with an exclusive release on the platform. On Dec. 31, Kobe dropped his ESCAPE two-pack of songs including “escape your love (demo)” and “4AM FREESTYLE.”

“Escape your love” contains an epic violin loop and hard-hitting 808s, as Kobe pleasantly croons his way through the track. Along with three renditions of the groovy “She like to party all night off them drugs” hook, SSG includes two verses that prove his improved songwriting as he disses fakes and those who give him fake love.

On “4AM FREESTYLE,” he approaches the guitar-infused instrumental with more braggadocio than the first song. He flexes his newfound wealth with more of an aggressive rap than sung verses on the prior track.

Check out both “escape your love (demo)” and “4AM FREESTYLE” by SSGKobe below.

Quotable Lyrics
I’ve been duckin’ on these thoughts, thoughts (Yeah), like a n***a livin’ in the Matrix (Oh-oh)
You can look in my shop cart, all this money that I’m fucking wastin’
Choppa sounding just like Nardwuar, doo-doo-doo-doo, bullets facing, yeah (Yeah)

Uncle Murda Says Lil Nas X Will Die Of AIDS On “Rap Up 2021”

Uncle Murda dissed Lil Nas X on his newest track, “Rap Up 2021,” saying that the Montero rapper is going to “catch AIDS and die.” Murda also compared himself to DaBaby and spoke about being canceled.

“Lil Nas X gon’ catch AIDS and die like Eazy-E/Hope the LGBTQ don’t cancel me,” Murda raps. “Like they tried to stop DaBaby from getting paid, when he was talking about how they be giving each other AIDS.”

Murda is referencing DaBaby’s infamous comments on Rolling Loud in Miami in 2021 when he spoke about HIV and said his gay fans don’t have it because they’re not “nasty gay n****s.” In response, he was dropped from several festivals that didn’t want to associate with the rapper.

Earlier this month, DaBaby was invited back to Rolling Loud, this time in Los Angeles, and was not met with a warm welcome from fans. He was pelted with drinks during his set.

Murda goes on to rap about Drake and Kanye’s “fake” beef, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s relationship, and more.

Of Will and Jada, he raps: “But don’t got to Instagram or get the cops in it/If he kill her, she gon’ go to Heaven and let Pac hit it.”

Omarion Has Heard All The Omicron Jokes But Says You Don’t Need ‘A Negative Test’ To Dance To His Music

The arrival of the omicron COVID-19 variant is the reason why many musicians are canceling their events and performances all across the country. But when the coronavirus strain first broke out in the US, R&B fans flocked to Twitter to decide that dubbing the new variant the Omarion variant was a much catchier term. After a wave of memes, the “Touch” singer has finally addressed the jokes and assured fans they don’t need to “have a negative test result” in order to dance to his music.

Despite the severity of the omicron variant, Omarion was in good humor about all the jokes. The singer shared a cheeky video to TikTok addressing the meme and reminding everyone that he’s an artist and an entertainer, not a COVID-19 variant. “Hi everybody, this is Omarion. I am an artist, not a variant,” he said in the video. “So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don’t have to isolate for five days, nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music. I am an artist, not a variant,” he says in a video. “So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don’t have to isolate for five days, nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music. Around Christmas, omicron overtook delta to become the dominant strain of COVID-19 in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that it was responsible for 60% of all variants by Christmas.

Experts have told CNN that omicron is expected to reach its peak by the end of January.

“I think it’s likely that we’ll see this wave come and go and that the spring and summer will look a lot better than right now looks to us,” Dr. Ofer Levy recently told the outlet.

Miley Cyrus Endures Wardrobe Malfunction During NYE Performance

Miley Cyrus’ 2021 consisted of several notable live performances. The multi-genre pop star hit the stage with artists like The Kid LAORIG Herbo and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as hosting Saturday Night Live earlier this month with Pete Davidson.

For NBC’s New Year’s Eve special last night, Miley and Pete linked up again to be the show’s hosts. As they celebrated the end of a hectic 2021, Miley was tasked with entertaining the crowd by performing some of the biggest hits of her career.

Of these hits, Miley decided to play “Party in the USA,” which some would consider the most beloved song in her catalog. She had briefly retired the song during Donald Trump’s presidency because the Trump team used it during his campaign. However, after Joe Biden was elected to take over the oval office last fall, she reinstated the song to celebrate the candidate she endorsed: “Now THIS is a PARTY IN THE USA! @JoeBiden @KamalaHarris”

When performing “Party in the USA” last night on NBC, however, she had a wardrobe malfunction as the top of her outfit came undone. Instead of pausing the show to perhaps go backstage and rectify the situation, she decided to power through. Without a hitch, she continued performing the party anthem for a stellar showing.

She played off the situation well, joking about saucy, nearly-nude outfits she has rocked in the past: “Okay, people are officially watching my t*ts out. This is still the most amount of clothes I’ve worn onstage.”

Rihanna celebrated the new year by sharing several new photos and a video on Instagram to show off a lace set from her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. The singer also reflected on living up to her New Year’s resolutions.

“When you actually lived up to your New Years resolution….pressure applied,” she captioned one photo, with a check mark emoji.

If her New Year’s resolution was to build the Savage X Fenty brand, it was unquestionably a success. Back in February, the company reached a $1 billion valuation, and in August, Rihanna became a billionaire herself.

“New year, same savage,” Rihanna captioned the video.

In the new posts, she can be seen modeling the Romantic Corded Lace Push Up Bra ($64.95), the Lace Brazilian ($22.95), and the Lace Garter Skirt ($44.95).

Rihanna’s focus on building her fashion brand has fans desperate for new music. The last album released by the Barbadian singer was Anti, back in 2016. Recent comments, however, have given fans hope that 2022 might bless them with new music from Rihanna. Earlier this month, she told the paparazzi that it’s coming “soon,” and is “going to be worth it.
