Darrell “Digga” Branch, the producer of 50 Cent’s “Many Men,” loves the success the single is getting but doesn’t like that it is associated with Donald Trump.
Speaking with TMZ Hip-Hop, Digga revealed that his phone was on fire after the attempted assassination of Trump, but if the former president tried to use the song on the campaign, he would initiate action against it.
“People started connecting the song to the actual incident,” Digga said. “Part of me understands why people connected it, on the other side of me, how did this even happen? I’m not feeling dude at all. I’m not voting for him.”
Digga closed, “It’s a video going around with the song as background music but that’s a fake video. I get requests for the song every week. At the same time that’s [Trump officially using the song] not going to happen.”
The assassination attempt on Donald Trump is causing a massive spike in the streaming numbers of 50 Cent.
According to Billboard, 50’s classic “Many Men” saw a massive stream surge, resulting in 2.2 million U.S. on-demand streams from July 13-15, a whopping 250% jump from the presiding Saturday to Monday period. Luminate notes the single says notch at just over 2,000.
After the failed assassination, 50 Cent performed the single with Trump’s head covering his body on the single cover.
