Yesterday (May 25), Halle Bailey’s big moment finally came as Disney’s The Little Mermaid hit theatres all around the world. After facing racist backlash over the casting decision for months now, the 23-year-old is shutting haters up with her heart-warming performance that’s already earning plenty of praise. Ahead of the project’s public debut, Bailey and her cast members travelled around the world on a press tour, which she’s obviously happy to be wrapping up based on her latest TikTok.
On Thursday, her profile lit up with a new video soundtracked to a remixed clip of Beyoncé happily singing about being back in the company of Jay-Z. “I am going to see my husband / I’m happy, I’m happy, to see my husband,” the Houston native croons on the viral track. For her part, Bailey synced it with a clip of her jumping for joy while approaching her boyfriend, DDG, who’s been incredibly supportive throughout her time as Ariel.

Halle Bailey is Happy to See Her “Husband”
After the young couple shares a sweet embrace in the middle of a crowd, Halle excitedly plants a string of kisses on his face, which the rapper happily receives. “On my last day of press like… ,” the “Do It” songstress wrote in her caption. The heartwarming moment comes just months after fans speculated that she and DDG were ready to call it quits.
Bailey has made it clear that people on social media cause more problems in her relationship than there actually are, as many longtime fans feel entitles to an opinion on every move that she makes. As a result, the Atlanta native prefers to mostly stay off of the internet – or at least avoid reading comments on her relationship – in favour of spending time in the real world.
